If you celebrate your Dad on mother's day, I wouldn't feel any way about it. I would be empathetic enough to allow you to celebrate him, because I know that for every effect there is a definite cause. Secondly, it wouldn't be my place to tell you not to, as I've not walked in your shoes [hypothetically]; the same way none of y'all have walked in OP's shoes.
