This one probably thinks cloud save actually stores in the sky.

So you’d put the database of a whole country in the hands of a third party.

Stay away from topics you know little about.

Are they building a data center? See inside of one of Facebook Datacenter, they have 7 of such spread across the US only. The second picture is the one they have in Ireland. Yet one yeye sombori want to ban them and empower a Cowwe app hosted on a shared server.

Lol you too think. Saving a country's data on a foreign server. Does it make sense to you? I understand where the $25B is coming from but still, it's cumbersome.

Please all musicians both upcoming, forthcoming, advanced, present, old and new, should submit their all their videos and audios including waxed and unwaxed to NIMC for storage.

Also, Nollywood and whatever wood in the country should submit all their tapes to NIMC for storage, both wack and produced.

As well, all Nigerians should submit all their tiktok videos to NIMC for storage.

N25b for storage facility can save all the above with less than 5% capacity used.

90 servers for 100million people, pray tell the storage capacity of each server. A TB storage capacity can store 200million population data being collected by NIMC. A server comes with more than 1 Tera.

₦1 billion would do (inclusive of everi-everi).

We need full details of what they are trying to build.

Of course, you could spend above $1b building a tier 4 level facility like the Citadel or NSA, but that would be like killing a rat with an ICBM.

All commercial banks (22 of them) in Nigeria spend less than a ₦100m (cumulative) hosting all our data per annum using a tier 3 facility.

AWS or Azure Server can do this efficiently for less than 100 million Naira, but due to National security breach.... It can't be hosted on foreign servers

But 25 billion Naira for servers is outrightly outrageous....

MainOne offers Azure stack hub, which is a version of Azure running on on-premise servers

Them no serious

So you want sensitive identity datas of Nigerians to be hosted in a rented server in the cloud that is not owned by Nigeria government?
Re: NIN Enrolment: NIMC Seeks N25bn For Storage Servers by toxtimmy: 3:48pm On Jun 23, 2021
Exactly... There will be no need for data center, electricity bills, physical security or infrastructure upgrades, scalability and elasticity, fault tolerance and reliability etc...all for peanuts compared to this crazy price tag.... Damn everyone should be a politician in Nigeria as you are guaranteed national cake only if you are in politics.

Those of you saying that Nigeria won't do well storing it's citizens data on a foreign soil, have you thought of the one already in private hands? This NIN of a thing has been contracted to private business, ( as if that's worth worrying about, when a foreign company handles passport issuance in the diaspora) hence, the physical record of phone number and other details of all the people of a local government are already in one guy's hands. If a mercenary wants that information, he will just download the NIN registration centers all around the country and extract the information at a price. We are already compromised.
Moreso, Pantami has been crying that all Nigerians register for NIN, but alas, they don't have enough storage capacity to handle just 5 states record or thereabout. Shame!
