Gunmen on Saturday killed a pregnant woman, Hawawu, and kidnapped her husband, Lukman Ibrahim, on Ojoku Road, Offa, in the Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Sources said Lukman, a young entrepreneur who dealt in telephone accessories at the Owode Market, Offa, and his wife were attacked by the assailants around 10pm, some distance away from a police station.

The couple were said to be on their way home when they were accosted by the hoodlums.

The PUNCH gathered that the incident led to a protest by some residents, who stormed the palace of the Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi (Esuwoye11), on Sunday, demanding the release of the businessman by the kidnappers.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the incident, said he could not give details of the kidnap.

“The command is working hard to get the victim rescued,” he added.

A witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “Around 10pm yesterday (Saturday), Lukman, a middle-aged phone dealer selling London-used phones at the Owode Market area, opposite Owode Police Station, Offa, was abducted by unknown gunmen along Ojoku Road, Offa, where he resided; he was on his way to his residence when he and his wife were accosted in their car by unknown gunmen.

“As Lukman was being dragged by the assailants, the wife was shouting for help. This prompted the assailants to shoot her dead. Her body was left at the spot, while Lukman was taken away and till now, his whereabouts remains unknown.”

Another source claimed that Lukman’s wife was shot dead after he identified the assailants.

It was gathered that the entrepreneur’s car was taken to the police station on Ojoku Road, Offa, while Hawawu’s corpse was taken to the morgue of the General Hospital, Offa.

Quite sad.... Kwara State has so many educated indigenes, but I was shocked when majority of Kwara indigenes bought into the useless Iragbiji born cocaine lover called Tinubu "O'to gé" sponsored movement.

They can no longer enjoy the relative peace they once had in the state as the bullion van ambassador who came to steal and brainwashed them has paved way for Insecurity in the state.

May the soul of the pregnant lady rest peacefully

We should always reports it as it happened. The man was kidnapped by Fulani Herdsmen and his innocent pregnant wife killed. This is not the first time that Fulani Herdsmen would engage in abducting prominent people in that axis. The locals there are all aware and that is why they protested in the Oba palace demanding for his release.

WHEN THE CORRUPT MEDIA STARTED USING THE WORD "GUNMEN", "UNKNOWN GUNMEN" IN THE EAST, I KNEW THEY WOULD SOON WATER THE COINAGE TO INCLUDE ALL MANNER OF FULANI HERDSMEN, UNDERCOVER POLICEMEN, BOKO HARAM AND ISWAP.

I saw it coming. Now Fulani herdsmen are kidnapping in Kwara, a Yoruba land, they are calling it gunmen. Some of we southerners are just not smart at all. I saw some of you getting swayed with the Nigerian media terms and forget to read between the lines. That's how they switched the name for Boko Haram and Fulanimal herdsmen into "bandits" and y'all became accustomed to it. "Bandit" is no longer enough. It will soon be "Gunmen" now. "Gunmen kill in our farms", "gunmen rape and murder in Ibarapa" bla bla bla...

NB: For some that don't know the backstory, the idiotic Oba of Offa (who has links with Dangote businesses and proceeds) said Fulanis are a part of Offa and are welcome. It's not up to one week and see the story that is happening. Instead of Yorubas to do the needful, they will be hiding under 'Omoluabi'. If they try to do the needful, some of them do not want to be viewed like the Igbos who they've been castigating all along. We all know that most of these Obas, at least 80% are political fools installed on their seats. If we keep doing mumu taking things gently, when the crunch time comes to extricate ourselves from the sh*t, you'll all find out it'll be a more difficult by then. Is this not the same Offa that our Yoruba nation protest was stifled just this weekend? Anyways, don't say you were not told. Removing and uninstalling stupid Obas and kings is the greatest Yoruba nation protest.

WHY CLOSE AT THAT ODD HOUR OF THE NIGHT TIME that is 10 pm to be precise?

They should have closed home at least 6pm or 7 pm of the evening instead of taking unnecessary risk.

Thieves are attracted to mobile phones products and the sales return that it brings.

These couple took unnecessary risk.

At least they should have slept in their shop and return home the following morning when they noticed that the odd hour of the night has caught up with them.

NIGERIA 'S INSECURITY PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY.

Buhari 's poor governance is even making insecurity get worse.

Fulani herdsmen today are the biggest terrorist in Nigeria after BOKO HARAM AND ISWAP.

GOVERNOR ABDULRASAQ SHOULD TACKLE INSECURITY PROBLEMS IN KWARA STATE.

In 2019, we had the OFFA BANK ROBBERY that took the life of close to 30 persons which includes police officer, pregnant woman.

We can not afford to hear more terrible news from Kwara state.

Governor Abdulrasaq spent much of his precious time fighting MISSIONARY SCHOOL to get them to submit to ISLAMISM.

Remember the controversial HIJAB ISSUE that is a burning issue in Kwara state which is now at the supreme court awaiting judgement.

What actually happened is that its either someone working for him tipped the kidnapper or he himself was a former crime syndicate who nemeisi is catching up with. Either way may his soul rest in peace

I am tired of hearing unknown gunmen. How can a country continually rot in piss and shit and our oga at the top seem unperturbed. So much insecurity. And if I waka now with my small cut to size battle axe, them go tag me terrorist
