Anambra International Airport inspection.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY4vtTttPzM

I heard the Igalas are also seriously pushing for the award of the Idah - Aguleri federal road which the FG has been foot-dragging for a long time. A distance of about just 85KM!
When that road is completed, Idah would be only a 45 minute - 1-hour drive from this airport. Which would truly make accessing Idah and other parts of the Igala nation within just 1 hour from Lagos, Abuja, or other parts of the world through this airport.

With the completion of Idah- Aguleri road, in fact, this airport would be more accessible for someone living in Idah than someone living in Ihiala! This would be a huge game-changer and a massive investment boost for the Igala nation.

In the interim, i just want to say the main dual-carriage airport road is promising to be the best stretch of road in Anambra state. I am hoping that they will complete it with trees planted in the median and street lights. So that it commands the needed powerful aura needed in international entrace ways where a first time visitor makes their first impression of a country upon arrival and driving on such pleasant road.

Senator Smart Adeyemi knew what he was talking about when he told Obiano that what he was doing at the airport was not only to benefit Anambra state but will benefit other citizens of the southeast and other neighboring states in Nigeria.

The Senator knew very well that some communities were so far away from the state capitals that the closest facilities to them would be this airport. For instance, Kogi state is bigger than the entire southeast. Even if an airport is built in Lokoja, this airport would still be closer to people in the entire southern part of Kogi.

Great progress of work on the completion of the interior of the terminal building, and installation of CAT 2 ILS and runway Lighting. They truly want to build a world-class airport facility. The terminal building is already looking like modern airport terminals that one sees in Europe and America.

I was so glad to observe that they are no longer driving cars with mud tires on the runway and apron. It builds up sand on the runway and apron which could be sucked into jet engines causing issues.

One hopes they will soon restrict the runway and apron such that only the construction companies will have access to these sensitive areas of the airport. The construction companies are also advised to be mindful not to buildup sand on the runway or apron with their trucks. Or, they will be responsible for sweeping the runway and apron after their construction to ensure they are totally free of sand or debris like sachet water packets.

Fantastic observation !! I do not know why most environments dominated by black people ( especially Nigerians ) always look ill-governed and ramshackle, it is worse when Government officials are in charge. The mentality of our civil servants is in need of a massive make over........ The incoming Anambra state governor should take his commissioners, perm secs, and directors to Rwanda for a 1-month retreat to learn the rudiments of public administration with a 21st-century outlook. The good thing is that Anambra seems to be blessed with a relatively good civil service but we need not reinvent the wheel, let us learn from our peers who are excelling in the area of town planning and revenue generation.

I must commend Obiano and even Obi before him, between these 2 illustrious sons they have done well for Ndi Anambra, and it's beginning to show, let us increase the tempo and momentum. Shame will be the portion will be the lot of our countrymen who wish us evil, destruction, and death............#WEMOVE

You people make me laugh when you analyse things.
Na only person wey no sabi road for Ihiala, Okija and Uli that will waste precious time to Use Anambra Airport when within 50 mins he/she is at Owerri Airport or almost the same min, he/she is at Asaba.
Forget all the support we gave the governor. In reality, the Airport is for Awka, Aguleri, other Anambra North and Kogi people. Even some parts of the North will be best served at Enugu when you consider the time it will take to move inside Umuleri.
South and Central will either use Owerri and Asaba respectively than waste precious time travelling to Umuleri

You are so pained by Anambra international airport. Even if you change your moniker a hundred times, your empty vile-filled venom against Anambra people betray you all the time. If you know anything about aviation, you would know that airlines go where there are large volume demand and adequate facilities. There are so many airports in Nigeria today that don't even get a single flight in a month! So it's not just about the presence of an airport somewhere, a lot more goes into it to be utilized and useful!

Anambra international airport is waaay closer to Ihiala than Owerri airport which is located halfway towards Aba! You probably not from Anambra so you would never have driven from Ihiala to Onitsha and then 2 hours to cross the bridge to Asaba. You would understand the suffering associated with going to Asaba.

With the three access roads and to the international airport, especially the link from Nsugbe, the airport is closer to Onitsha residents than Asaba. Again, nobody in Awka will drive to Enugu to board a flight because this airport is closer than Enugu.

Why are you so pained that Anambra built an airport for its own citizens to develop its economy? While all these states mocking Anambra people all these years about not having an airport are so angry now because they depend on Anambra people to drive traffic in their own airport?

I mentioned that I read where some Kogi people were asking for commencement of the Ajaokuta - Idah - Aguleri to Onitsha road. That road was planned even before this airport because it is supposed to shorten the distance to Abuja drastically. However, even without that road, Anambra cities alone will keep this airport busy.

Not to mention that it has superior aviation facilities and runway length than any airport in the southeast. Including the fact that it is the only airport in the southeast that can land planes at night and has CAT 2 ILS. Unlike a southeast airport where common water used in flushing toilets is a huge problem! Anambra international airport has an abundant water supply of its own and enough for even fire-fighting emergencies! I recall the Sosoliso plane crash where parents watched their kids roast to death more than 2 hours after the crash because there was not even a single fire truck with water at the airport! Obiano is making sure such irresponsible waste of human life does not occur at the Anambra Intl. airport. Thus, he is spending the money for not just a proper adequate water supply system, but 3 brand new Crash tender state-of-the-art Fire vehicles! Obiano is bringing the best global aviation standards to an airport in the southeast and you should be happy about that if you were not a night owl. We should be proud and happy that we have at least one international standard airport in southeastern Nigeria with facilities comparable to international airports found elsewhere in the world.

No doubt the airport is the future of the region and you know it. That is why you are so pained, but it will not change the imposing credentials and world-class facilities being gradually installed at the airport.

You guys should have formed a WhatsApp group and discuss it there.

Anambra international airport is centrally located to serve Anambra cities and rural areas. From Onitsha to the airport is 15mins, to Awka is 20mins and Nnewi 30min. Stop saying what you don't know has focus on your own state.

Anambra is developing a truly international airport that will be the international gateway to the eastern Nigeria

For you to mention that the airport is close to Kogi means you don't even know where umueri is located in the map.

From Onitsha to Asaba airport with all the traffic is about 30mins that's if you have travelled via aeroplane before. But from Onitsha to Umueri Iess than 20mins.

No Anambra indigene will leave an airport within his reach and Anambra then go through traffic to another state just to travel.

See the airport road as it links Onitsha-Awka-Enugu expressway at Nteje. This picture was as at January.

BKayy:

There is a difference from the traffic of entering from leaving Onitsha.
Onitsha to Asaba Airport is 10-15 mins max. And I included the time to get to the gate

I am a regular user of Aaaba airport, from Onitsha mainland like 3-3, federal housing, GRA, etc, to Asaba airport is more than 30mins without traffic, but from the same Onitsha mainland to Anambra international airport is about 15mins.

You are too dumb. Anambra international airport road links the Onitsha-Awka-Enugu expressway. That makes it's easier for travelers to reach on time. You obviously don't know what you are yapping about

See the airport road as it links Onitsha-Awka-Enugu expressway at Nteje. This picture was as at January.
Do you know the Distance from Ihembosi to Nteje Alone?
Oga stop lying to yourself. Any thing past Owerri road is like another side of the world for Anambra South if what they are looking for can be found in Owerri

You are definitely an alien. Onitsha-Enugu expressway links Anambra south via Onitsha-Owerri road, Nkpor down to Aguata, it links Awka from where you proceed to Anambra southern part. It is now obvious why you outsiders are crying over this airport in Anambra, because for sure the local ones in your state are not gonna survive the emergence of Anambra international airport

You went from Nkwelle to Asaba not Onitsha to Asaba.
Thank you
