JustAPasserBy: What class of Visa are you on now? Are you saying you’re not sponsored by anyone? Usually dependents of Health workers are exempt as well but before anyone says for sure please clarify the class of visa. |

STENON: My wife has a bsc in English. She has been teaching for close to 5 years now. She equally has a pgd in education with TRCN. I want to apply for msc in Scotland.. What are her chances of working full time in Scotland considering her English background? |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by fatima04: 1:14pm On Jun 29, 2021 |
mrcodebreaker: would be inclined to advise the wales job. Asides transportation cost, housing and cost of living in london alone will take a lot of the 68k. But if he wants London living then Option 2 |

Lexusgs430: I think I need some education about insurance in the UK. In Nigeria, if you have a comprehensive insurance, all costs of repair or replacement would be covered by the insurance company, I thought same should apply here especially when the cost of insurance is huge |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by tushqueen(f): 1:48pm On Jun 29, 2021 |
fatima04: True! But like Ralph Lauren mentioned he needs to grab his calculator especially considering family size and needs. Remote working may be more beneficial to someone who has little kids, especially if they are not of school age. He can easily combine childcare with remote job, even if it pays less on the long run it mag leave him with higher disposable income than the 68k job |

He just told me the wales job is 4 days a week in the office. 17/20 mins from his home. And he has no kids btw but plans to. |

Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by tushqueen(f): 2:47pm On Jun 29, 2021 |
fatima04: That gap may not matter if he has to pay child care for 2/3kids of non-school age |

Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Lexusgs430: 3:18pm On Jun 29, 2021 |
tushqueen: Same applies, but if one party disputes a claim..... It simply elongates the process or documentation issues with the insured......... When you insure, they never peruse your documents, but when you have a claim, they start asking for this and that........ Remember, because you have fully comprehensive insurance, it does not permit you to drive another vehicle....... |

Thank you MamaTukwas. Main applicant is on Global Talent Visa (e spread by the Royal Society). Main applicant now gets an NHS Job. When main applicant applies for dependants, can they apply as dependants of NHS worker, hence escape the IHS payment? Mamatukwas: |

Nawa oooo, planning to get a car soon but now fear dn dey catch me , I'm now confused seriously Bill was over £22,000..... War started, it eventually ended in court.... My vehicle was written off and judgement was got against the other insurance company (they had to pay that bill)....... [/quote] |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Lexusgs430: 11:31pm On Jun 29, 2021 |
starboychan: No point to be worried....... Just do things right/legal and as we say '' insurance cova u''....... - Get your full licence (not provisional), to drive independently - Be truthful to your insurance company - Drive within legal limits - Avoid illegal parking - Ensure your vehicle got a valid MOT certificate + road fund licence is paid - Pay congestion charge/Ulez (where applicable)......etc And you shall be alright......... 1 Like 1 Share |

JustAPasserBy: I think the answer lies in the highlighted bit below. If your job doesn’t qualify as a Health & Care Worker Visa your dependents might have to pay IHS. I know it states that one of the requirements of the Visa is that you have a sponsorship letter which you do not currently have. Click here https://www.gov.uk/health-care-worker-visa to check if your role in particular qualifies. All the best. 1 Like
