Before FG could arrest Kanu and repatriate him, British government must have been fully and duly informed, not only British government self, FG must have seek the advise from other world leaders on how to handle the delicate situation regarding Kanu.

If Kanu likes, He should write UN, FIFA, CAF, NBA, he over beaten his drums with the UGM activities. Nail in the coffin

All this are aftermath of the twitter suspension and google app review war between SE and North in general.

FG would use adjournment of court cases to frustrate Kanu as there would be series of situations where the judges would miss some of the court cases...The first adjournment is almost a month..

My concern is weren’t the UK in the know of his activities inciting violence in a foreign country (Nigeria as he claims he’s not our citizen)?

Weren’t they in the know that he had issued orders countless times for his supporters to kill security personnel and burn government buildings? Aren’t these crimes?

Does being a Brit shield him from being held accountable for his actions in another country?

Assuming he was granted asylum or ran to Britain (his country) to evade trial, doesn’t Nigeria have the right to find him by any means necessary to face trial?

He was a fugitive and committed more crimes while in limbo. Let him face the music.

Lastly, he has right to demand consular support from the UK, yes!

…let’s see how things will turn out, let’s see how the UK would force his release.

19th page of the document read;

“We can offer you information about the local prison or remand system, including visiting arrangements, mail and censorship, privileges, work possibilities, and social and welfare services. We can also explain where there are different regulations for remand prisoners and sentenced prisoners. For example, in some countries, prisoners are allowed to send more mail when they are on remand.

“We cannot get you out of prison or detention, nor can we get special treatment for you because you are British. If however you are not treated in line with internationally accepted standards we will consider approaching local authorities. This may include if your trial does not follow internationally recognised standards for a fair trial or is unreasonably delayed compared to local cases.

“With your permission, we can consider taking up a complaint about ill-treatment, personal safety, or discrimination with the police or prison authorities.

“Consular staff will keep in regular contact with you, either by visiting personally or by telephone/ letter. The frequency of visits will depend on local prison conditions and your personal circumstances.

“If you are a dual British national in the country of your other nationality, we would not normally offer you support or get involved in dealings between you and the authorities of that state. We may make an exception to this rule if, having looked at the circumstances of the case, we consider that you are vulnerable and we have humanitarian concerns.”

Britain will not don nothing!! If he likes he can write to UN, EU, Ecowas, FIfa , isreal etc. Nothing will happen.

Nnamdi kanu will face his crime. He want to escape , Coward!! I thought he thinks he is untouchable, then why he is begging British government.

Mumu terrorists. He can also write to ipob to send uGM to free his from DSS underground cell.

The family of the policemen, soldiers and innocent civilians killed by Nnamdi kanu UGM are praying and crying for God for justice and God has heard their cries and answer their prayers.

Justice must be served. Kanu is gone for good. He will die in jail.

You are not more South South than myself that is if you are actually from South South. I don't know how he has forced South South to be part of Brafa, but I am only aware that he ask for referendum and through that people would have to choose where they want. I am totally not aware of how he was forcing South South.

Did you see the map was claiming Kogi and Benu as part of brafa! There were some secret agender, if they had suceeded SS would have been second class citizen, you can imagine they're already sharing position for their selves, with other numerous position already allocated secretly, waiting for other to support them as if we're MUGUor MUMU.

If you want referendum there many way without claiming lives, that is my problem the loss of live, at a point you could no longer travel to the east.

Let me also tell you so many igbo does not support it and they could not speak out because of possible attack on them and this is democracy and the way things were going was a complete opposite democracy, so what should government do at this point, I'm sure even if the president is an igbo man he will do the same, take Imo governor as example.

The power of citizenship - See how the lawyer kept emphasizing that he is a British citizen. I think the British sold this one out. They have given up on Kanu and his antics.

I wonder what would have happened if he was an American citizen. American citizens are not tried by foreign governments. Not even by the International court of Justice at the Hague

That lady at ICJ tried to press charges against US soldiers in abstentions for crimes committed, Trump government came hard on her and other judges handling the case.

Nnamdi Kanu is a goner. He does not know that there is NOTHING the UK consular service can provide for him to ensure his freedom. They can only ensure that his fundamental rights are respected during the trial. Foreigners are always advised by their respective Governments to abide with the local laws of the countries they are visiting. To all the people that are thinking that the UK govt will go into war with Nigeria over Nnamdi Kanu, you are all suffering from delusional grandeur.

If Buhari honours British request to release Kanu then he is a most foolish president. British government does not deserve an attention from Nigeria government since they are providing protection to someone instigating carnage in Nigeria that has seen many security personnel died and establishment destroyed. If the British government is in a war with Nigeria they should come out and declare it and not be sponsoring a criminal like Kanu.

Kanu must face justice and if found guilty he should be punished according to the law of Nigeria. If you are British citizen and you are sponsoring violence and terrorism in another country you have offended that country and should be judged by the law of that country when you are arrested

You don't know what you're talking about bro, first of all there's no any smart person on that cabinet to have thought of that and also they've not followed any legal process in the arrest,he's a British citizen and he's entitled to every support from the British consulate and their foreign affairs.

Stop saying what you dont know. There are many americans languishing in jail on various offences in different nations of the world. Go and read the citizen bureau advice on the US website - citizens are constantly reminded to obey and respect the local laws of the countries they are visiting.

It does not mean he would be freed , or he won't get sentenced.

For anyone who thinks that countries listen to the UK, consider the cases of UK citizens who are in jail worldwide, especially the case of a certain British citizen who is in jail in Iran for 'subversive activites'. Iran has refused to listen to the UK to release her (Iran is holding her to make the UK release its money trapped in UK banks since the 1980's....)

Western countries are ready to sacrifice their citizens for economic posterity. That's how they got so powerful. They only adopted this human right , hullabaloo after the fact.

Nnamdi Kanu's lawyers did not just write this letter. The British high commission in Lagos first stated it that consular service is available to him. From the look of things, Britain will not leave him alone in the problem. Mehn! Kanu is damn lucky to be a British Citizen.

Buhari and the Federal Government will know what's sup soon. Nnamdi Kanu fighting for the Igbo is huge. I do not support many of his actions, but this present administration is too stubborn. In fact, Jonathan is far better than this Buhari in crisis management. Though, Buhari has his own strength, but when it comes to crisis management and economy, he is a capital NO.

There will be indoor dialogue on this matter. But Buhari is making Kanu extremely popular. G7 will soon start eyeing this case, and before you know it, many US universities will start using it as a case study.

Even Department State Security attacked Sunday Igholo's home yesterday who is another self acclaimed freedom fighter. This is another blunder of the Federal Government. Mainwhile, they are pampering Fulani Herdmen and Bandits. Lol. This is a big minus for Buhari. No wonder the US declined in moving its African Military base from Germany to Nigeria. Lol. There is inconsistency in Buhari.

Well, I just wish Nnamdi Kanu can escape this again but after, he should learn how Nelson Mandela did it. Mandela even forgave all his opponents after he became the president. Kanu should not ask his followers to kill the military. But also, he will argue his case that the military attacked him first.

This is an international case and Buhari has already made Kanu a popular freedom fighter. And with his recent actions, he will just become more unpopular among world leaders. But Goffrey Onyeama is a good diplomat and I dont know why as Buhari's foreign affairs minister he is not letting him know he is making blunders. Twitter's case is still there. Well, Buhari will not win all, though it seems he is winning. He should employ a dispute and conflict resolution expert asap; else, he is falling into the pit he is digging for freedom fighters.

U said my mind

You kidnap a British Citizen without the approval of the British Government - watch in a few days as the UK flexes its muscles...MNK was living in the UK and he was not arrested, but he travels to Kenya and he gets arrested on behalf of Nigeria - that's a big no no. If it were another country, a Nigerian official in their own country would be arrested...only to be released in exchange for their citizen, its a thing China does very well for example.
