Janosky: It's funny how you use words such as "exposed yourself" and "deceive yourself" to reply my posts because I have been the one doing the exposing of JWs from the beginning. All you do is use vulgar words like ungodly folks and I know how you are feeling right now, just like Islamic terrorists will want to bomb infidels for not converting to Islam. That's how extremism starts! Back to the real deal: You advised me to study God's word but at the same time import non-scriptural teachings like "dedication" and "governing body" to try to blackmail silent listeners into reasoning with you. Look at how wild you are here because nobody knows who you are, of course you are anonymous here, but when you carry your bag and knock at people's doors you'll be pretending like an angel looking for who to devour. I am a true believer in the words of the bible and I have made it clear from my original post that JWs core believes are not written or thought in scriptures. You can shout here and bow in loyalty to your governing body all you want that's your business, but don't make the mistake of thinking bowing to them is equivalent to bowing to God, just like other churches who worship their MOGs, JWs have even gone a step further in believing the governing body is the same as Jesus. I still come in peace! 3 Likes |

falseprophet: You have associated with JWs at some point in time, have you ever seen any JWs bow to any Overseer? I'm not insulting you, but you're uncomfortable that my comments are frank and direct. If Your claim were true,go ahead to disprove the Scriptural examples on my comments, that's all. Exodus 24:7, the Israelites dedicated themselves to what/whom? Mark 8:34, how can you dedicate yourself to follow Jesus when you refuse to "disown yourself"? How do you faithfully observe Mark12:29-30 without dedication? Even the Jesus you want to follow, John 15:15, was he not taught? Luke 24:24-27, did Jesus not teach others? Hebrews 13:7,17 is Jehovah's instructions, Janosky will obey, please suit yourself. Bros, just tell Nairaland that your personal belief is a shopping mall formula, you pick & choose whatever panders to your imperfect whims & tastes. Hebrews 13:7,17 is Jehovah's standard. Shalom. |

falseprophet: I have to agree here, not because you're saying it but based on my own experience too. I've had members of JW knocked on my door countless times. And on each occasion, what I see are civilized and soft spoken people with decency in conducts. But shockingly here, what I see is the complete opposite of the former. In fact, conducts here only befits hooligans. And it makes me wonder. Could it be that all those sanctimonious & gentle looking people I see knocking at my door in the name of JW are in fact ravaging wolves in sheep clothing? Could it also be that their peace some sort of have an ON & OFF button that is switched on when knocking on the door and off when leaving? Okay. I'd pretend the ones here are the "bad eggs" among that body of "peace loving people". 2 Likes |

Jesus was the most gentle human when doing his father's work (preaching and teaching in the neighbourhood) Matthew 5:3-12 But in some instances Jesus will appear to be rude (in words) in the face of antagonists of pure worship! MaxInDHouse: So if one approach you with love, you'll also treat the person with love. If they approach you with hatred, you send it back to sender. If they come bringing insult, you give it to them fire for fire. How are you then, a supposed "witness of Jehovah" different from sinners or just anybody out there who does not know God? But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. (Luke 6:32). Do you think you're of any different to even the worst sinner? |

Splinz:You only approach people with RESPECT and once you RESPECT people surely you'll be respected, but when you're determine to insult someone simply because he's standing on his faith then you don't worth any respect! I welcomed both JWs and none JWs on this forum with respect, but when some comes in only to argue fruitlessly i tell them that's not why this thread was set up. Do you think you're of any different to even the worst sinner? You don't know how to distinguish between a sinner and a righteous person from God's viewpoint. Note that the thief beside Jesus was a sinner like any of us but his approach changed his condition before God. For your information we are all sinners but the righteous are people who finds and humbles themselves after finding God's arrangement. Zephaniah 2:2-3 So if you don't know God's arrangement and you're criticizing someone who said he has found it who is the condemned sinner between you and the person? |

Janosky: What JWs apply to other religions they must first of all apply to themselves, namely, that "we are not acceptable to God if our sincerity is not based on accurate information." (The Watchtower 2002, February 15, p 32) The following 7 points summarize all I have been saying about "dedication" from the onset: 1. The nation of Israel was not dedicated to God, but rather was in a covenant with him. Those two are not the same; the terms are not interchangeable. 2. Dedication has nothing to do with having one's prayers heard by God. Did Cornelius dedicate himself to God in order for his prayers to be heard? 3. It is not due to any "dedication" to God on our part that we inherit everlasting life. By teaching this, JWs actually deny the ransom, although paying lip service to it. 4. JWs have robbed Jehovah by emphasizing their love for him, rather than HIS love for them. 5. Because of JWs doctrine of Dedication they have made God's word invalid in that they are able to judge their brothers' and sisters' spirituality, compare their activity against others, and even have given "scriptural grounds" for marriage partners to separate. These are all things the Scriptures tell us not to do. (Matthew 7:1-2; Romans 14:4, 10, 13; 2 Corinthians 10:12; Galatians 6:4; 1 Corinthians 7:10-11) 6. Baptism is not about any dedication vow. It is interesting how The Watchtower agrees with this point: “It should also be noted that vows were something spontaneous, and hence unrequested, unsolicited. They were not something set forth as a general requirement for all who would enjoy a certain privilege or enter into a certain relationship. Hence, one’s becoming a disciple of Christ Jesus and fulfilling the requirements that are set for all persons, including repenting and turning around and making public declaration of one’s faith, and being baptized, do not involve a “vow” in the Scriptural sense.” (w73 10/1 p. 607 Questions from Readers) 7. Also of note, the Watchtower acknowledges that "searching through the Christian Greek Scriptures we do not find either the word dedication or the word consecration used to designate this step of giving oneself exclusively to God through Jesus Christ." Obviously, this step of "giving oneself exclusively to God through Jesus Christ" is not a requirement for everlasting life. It has nothing to do with Baptism. I come in peace! |

falseprophet: Bros, I have always come in peace Dictionary Definitions from Oxford Languages Search for a word dedication noun 1. the quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose. "his dedication to his duties" Similar: commitment wholeheartedness single-mindedness enthusiasm zeal People also ask What is another word for dedication? commitment ,devotion loyalty, allegiance, devotedness, faithfulness **1 According to your claim The nation of Israel was not dedicated to God,. According to Oxford dictionary definition of 'Dedication', do you agree the Israelites showed no "commitment" the covenant with God ? Psalms 106:6,14,40-45,why was God's anger against the Israelites? Psalms 106:45 is God's anger against Israelites tied together with their covenant with God? Do you now agree that 'Dedication' is synonymous with "loyalty, commitment & faithfulness, are vital for fulfillment of any covenant? **2. Examine the Oxford Dictionary definition & it's synonyms closely as it relates to Acts 10:2. Bros, examine Acts 10:2 & Colossians 3:23, Cornelius was doing what with zeal & "wholeheartedness"? What was the outcome ? Acts 10:2-6,22 do you notice Cornelius obedience? Cornelius was prayerfully dedicated to doing what pleases God @ Acts 10:2, that was the reason he received divine instructions & visitation for his conversion to be counted among the people chosen to bear Jehovah's name,Acts 15:7-14. To rephrase the Oxford Dictionary, "Cornelius Dedication' to godly duties-" fearing God, prayers, generousity & obedience (compare Colossians 3:23) brought him into association with the people bearing JEHOVAH'S name. Do you recall that Peter explained it clearly @ Acts 15:2-14? |

falseprophet: 3.. According to your Bible @ Hebrews 10:9 & Hebrews 5:7, Bros whose will was Jesus dedicated to doing, leading to his death? 1 Corinthians 11:1 & 1 Peter 2:19-21,who did Paul imitate? JWs dey copy Jesus examples For the record, JWs espouse John 3:16 more than Trinitarians. Trinitarian belief deny John 3:16 & actually pays lip service to it. Bros reason on this wella. 4. 1 Corinthians 5:3" this is what the love of God means- Obedience. Bros the real robbery is disobedience to Mark 12:29-30. 5.a. For what do I have to do with judging those on the outside? Do you not judge those on the inside while God judges those on the outside? Remove the wicked man from among yourselves"- 1 Corinthians 5:12-13. Rom2:2. 1 Corinthians 10:6-11, your Bible warns against MURMURERS. 5.b. Philippians 2:3 & Galatians 6:4, You can scan the religious section of this forum & know those comparing their gods of men with their fellow rivals. JWs emphasize Luke 21:1-4 with maximum seriousness. 5.c. Matthew 7:1-2/Rom 14:4 = Matthew18:33-34. Bros, Do not confuse confession/forgiveness of shortcomings with brazen wrongdoing without repentance (hiding under so-called 'grace to commit atrocities') 1 Cor 5;12-13. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11= Amos 3:3. Marriage is by agreement. You can't turn your wife to a punching bag and be quoting 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, for instance. It's plain wickedness, I must say. If the marital issues are life threatening, separation is necessary while the couple continues dialogue to reconsider their stand and reconcile again. 1 Corinthians 7:15, break up is inevitable when the estranged couple mutually reject the option of reconciliation. |

No wonder you're all ashamed of your Churches! So you're now after the group name no more personal identity, shey? Funny clowns! Jesus said "whatever you want men to do to you do likewise to them" {Matthew 7:12} What are these miscreants coming here to insult JWs claiming? Aren't they supposed to be Christians? So now you want JWs to watch while you insult them simply because they're keeping their faith, shey? Splinz: |

Splinz: Keep deceiving yourselves! So JWs aren't humans with feelings shey? My friend, if you're a Christian you must learn to respect other people no matter their faith. If you choose not to join them in their form of worship that's understandable but outrightly insulting, abusing and cursing them all because their faith differs is totally unacceptable! That's why JWs don't have issues with Islamists because we respect everyone's beliefs. We will approach everyone with mild-temper and deep respect, greetings before we introduce ourselves and our purpose of coming. Matthew 10:11-13 But what about your folks? You people will just stand up in the bus or in the corner of the streets and start raining curses on other religionists saying they will be roasted by your sad god for not accepting it's form of worship! Matthew 12:19 If you want to talk about manner of approach even Jesus himself has already condemned you people and your stupidity! |

OkCornel:OkCornel really knows how to read their minds, just look at what he said and it's exactly what they're coming here to do. The name of the group in focus has been mentioned: "JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES" Would you like to study the Bible with them? No arguments, the purpose of mentioning the name of a group is to help you grasp how the group is using Bible to set matters straight in their midst {2Timothy 3:16} but if you have a better doctrine then you're also welcome to introduce such doctrine and the group using it so that everyone can learn from the practical application employed by the group. That's the purpose of this thread, not coming here to say "JWs are my choice but their doctrine is evil" 1 Like 1 Share |
