It may interest you to know that places where farming can be practiced to the fullest are either underpoliced or not policed at all. I know of places like Imota, and other places on the outskirts of ikorodu here in Lagos where farming is practiced on a large scale and the farmers have experienced cases of frequent kidnap and ransom payments in the past one year.

It's not just Herdsmen issues but a general insecurity problem that has not been addressed by government at different levels ( not just federal Govt alone), but yet we decry why people abandon farming and prices of food items keep sky rocketing.

Waiting for Buhari to relinquish power in 2023 will not even solve the problem because by then the criminals holding sway now would've gained ground and become government to people in those localities. Look at the case of Boko Haram in 2014, they were hoisting flags in some parts Iof the northeast and we all thought with the emergence of Buhari as the president they will all be crushed....fast forward to today and what do u have? Boko haram/ISWAP/whatever change of name they've done are now appointing governors within the northeast.

Any government that wants to encourage farming should first make the farmers feel safe. Just like afro doc said, the psychological energy people are expending to eke a living in this country is damn too much.

I think a lot of criminals are trying to take advantage of the Herdsmen issue to perpetrate crime.... I belong to a Farmers group chat and sincerely some of the things we read on the media aren't True to that extent.

I even heard that some of the Cows are owned by these Southern Politicians... They use herders to do the Field Job and give them the go ahead to trespass on any land... One of my very close Friend who happens to be a Large scale Farmer arrested Cows that were almost Invading his land... You needed to see how scared those Herdsmen were.

Still yet there are some parts Of Ogun state that are really safe for Farming activities: Papalanto Sagamu, Ofada, Ewekoro and so on
