Abeg, help me and loud it, for people in the back. And to be clear- Quota system is also alive and well all over the south. Who disagrees? Just look at all your state schools and the QUOTA for state indigenes. What of your civil service? Live 30 years in a state as a non indigene and try to run for office at any level, get a political appointment- or even get a civil service job. Premium tears. Meanwhile, we all celebrate Nigerians who win elections abroad. And don't even try to use the "ones you know" to justify your argument. Meanwhile, all those who've used connections to get a job- You're also included in this issue. Our hypocrisy seems endless... SMH "Federal Character" nko? That one is the snake in the grass; a capital crime, deadly sin and endless abyss- all rolled in one. So, you either employ the best hands to run your business, or you end up with the mediocrity we call Nigeria. Full stop. The problem is, the beneficiaries will continue to need handouts and a leg up- all through their studies and career- because olodo must be olodo. (Except for the exceptional FEW who shed that inadequacy and claw their way to success, like the rest of us.) The question is, since this is a pervasive, deep-rooted problem, how do we put an end to it? Suggestions are heartily welcome. Lalasticlala, Mynd44, Seun 1 Like |

Nukilia:every data, research, etc says the current problems will be worse. the same people will be in the states of the north and south. who can't solve LG problems now will still fail if we split up. our problem isn't one Nigeria. 1 Like |

debaj10:Those of us wailing on quota system and federal character and saying they are forms of corruption should also know that rotation and zoning of political position are corruption that must also be done away with. Let democratic principle of majority wins and carries the day be applied in our political life as we also call for merit to define appointment into other offices. Anything otherwise is hypocrisy. |

Nukilia:exceptions don't make the rule, bro. will splitting solve corruption? ethnic clashes? godfathers? bribery? if we can't solve them now, we won't solve them then. neighboring countries are also waiting for a chance to seize our land. and where have you seen a plan for these new nations? if we split in 2023 for example, what kind of chaos will there be? who'll control these new entities? read the article in my signature, for some insight. peace |

you're quite right. and under democratic principles, the "north" would actually lose- ALL the time. remember, these principles will entrench good governance- which will only flourish in educated AND enlightened regions. gawu1: |
