No, in West Africa, they stay in the backyards of the main house, that they pay rent for one year, and such. In fact getting a house is so difficult people have to bandy together - or even borrow 2yr loan.

Your housing sector is undeveloped.

Nairobi has every kind of housing for every kind of need. Each on their own zones. There is no mixing!

This a kilometer from that pipeline

Information on Nairobi is easy to find and verify. The house of any budget - house hunting in Kenya is a one-afternoon affair - you just walk around - and every apartment has TO LET sign - you pay a monthly rent and a month deposit - and you're in - no need for electricity deposit coz it pre-paid.

You can arrive at the airport today and in about an hour - you've rented a house - for a month - with all utilities - for less than 50 dollars - if you want to stay in studio or single room in concrete slum

1) 2,500 in pipeline - that is 20 euros a month - has DSTV connection, internet, name it. You pay 25 dollars one month and one month deposit -

Eko Atlantic is a smart city being built on reclaimed land from the ocean using reable malleable materials in a time where climate change is a massive issue. These malleable materials take 10-15 years to fully settle. Any widespread MASSIVE contruction until then will result in both an ecological & infastructurial disaster.

They have to perform soil test for each plot they use. It's more an extension of Lagos than an actual separate city. The plots for schools, hospitals, housing etc has long been bought out. They have already layed down the sewage & power grid

With lekki free zone, Orange Island, Periwinkle island, Imperial international business city island reaching completion contruction is about to explode from here own out in these coming years.

Egypt's New Administrative Capital, Nigeria's Eko Atlantic and similar island developments along with Morroco's Casablanca Marina Project & Ch'rafate are the most promising smart city projects so far deep in development.

Why not put the link of the article - must have been written last decade. Eko Altantic has no promise.

First Nigerian economy is sick and people are broke - Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Banana Island already have vacancy rates as high as 30 per cent in their wealthier areas.

Eko City itself has essentially stalled...and more than 10yrs since 2009...there are two completed towers..that have zero occupancy rate...money thrown down the drain LITERALLY. It may take another decade before anybody lives in Eko City.

Why can't Nigeria Army Military Intelligence identify those politicians and arrest them - and court-martial them. In kenya - I don't think anybody will want to get into a theatre of war - where KDF is involved. It just cannot happen. It UNTHINKABLE. Army are outside constitution almost - so nobody want to get into their way.

If you politicians do not fear your army - then there is BIGGER PROBLEM. Army main role is to be a deterrent. And it the last option.

In kenya - people fear paramilitary police called GSU - but they dread KDF smiley - KDF remember as KAR were bombing MauMau in 1950s and in few times they have been operation in kenya like Shifta seccession war with Somalia or little rebellion in Mt Kenya - KDF will bomb the shiet out of that place.

As for Kenya please stop the comparison - it's day and night.

A few terrorist coming to kenya is POLICE (internal security) failure. Our police forces is admittedly VERY CORRUPT and mostly incompetent.

If terrorists were to occupy territory in kenya - that is ARMY failure.

Why do you think your army is failing in Somalia and AlShabaab terrorists can easily cross into Kenya?
Collusion between Kenyan army and the terrorists, of course.

So why can't your army intelligence fish out the perpetrators? Take our the log in your eyes before you point at the speck in another person's eye.
No sane human being will put the puny KDF ahead the Nigerian Army. If you have just 20,000 soldiers, how come you can't buy weapons with your $1bn budget?
Look at this UN report below and weep for Kenya:
Corruption fuels terrorism by undermining
counterterrorism measures and providing extremists
with access, funding, and motivation . In Kenya, each
of these factors can be seen at play. Kenya’s security
and police forces — the country’s first line of
defense against terrorism — are notoriously riddled
with corruption, often rendering them ineffective
against extremists. During the Westgate shopping
mall attack, several Kenyan police officers looted the
mall instead of fighting the gunmen. Kenyan security
forces along the Somali border regularly take bribes
in exchange for allowing illegal border crossings,
meaning that al-Shabab operatives usually have
unencumbered access into Kenya and back across to
Somalia. Furthermore, officers in the Kenyan
Defense Forces entrusted with fighting al-Shabab in
Somalia have in the past instead collaborated with
them to smuggle sugar over the border, allegedly
resulting in at least $200 million in funding for al-
Shabab.
grin
Like seriously! Your soldiers take money from alshabaab and is involved in smuggling. Why are the bad eggs not fished out?

...OHHH, NAIJ!?

WTF allows a fkn street market within spitting distance of 155 mm shells!?
Can you explain why Al shabaab, a Somali terrorist group is holding territories in Kenya?
I thought your son rvp said kdf will *bomb the shiet out of them if they hold territories in Kenya* ?
“Sometimes it feels like we are actually in
Somalia because of the criminals from the
other country walking freely around and
stopping vehicles to demand to know who is
inside,” said Mandera businessman Maalim
Abdi, 48. “We want to feel like the rest of the
country. It should not be a curse to live at the
border.”
How Oh, Kenya!
And more:
“The group wants to further isolate
northeastern Kenya from the rest of the
country and prevent the government from
delivering services and exercising control over
the large, sparsely populated region.”
According to Elias, the only place Al Shabaab
holds territory in Kenya is the Boni Forest in
Lamu further south
— a border region also
plagued by attacks.
Why can't the kdf walk into Lamu and bomb the shiet out of the shabaab boys there?

Fact is you don't have a military in the real sense of it. That's why America cut funding to your useless army. grin

Still comparing apples with oranges. KDF are in Somalia - it's like Nigeria army having kicked BH all the way to Chad or Mali. Kenya police man internal security and are admittedly corrupt. As for KDF - they help run the incompetent gov of Somalia in Kismayu.

You cannot compare KDF and Nigeria Milita.

Defeat Boko Haram first.

Kdf rarely deploys internally let alone conduct airstrikes inside Kenyan territory.Internal security is mostly handled by the police.
As for lamu ,alshabaab tried to establish a local insurgency back in 2014 but we're pushed back during operation "Linda Boni" a multi agency operation between kdf ,police ,kws intelligence etc.
Boni is a forest enclave that spans across Kenya and Somalia after the successful campaign the work has been left to specialist police units who regularly conduct foot patrols in the forest.

The only story we can talk about is how the Nigerian military is unable to conduct a successful campaign inside its own territory, while on the other hand kdf conducted a successful campaign inside enemy territory from liboi to Kismayo liberating vast swaths of land that were previously under Al-Shabaab. Mind you kdf have several F.O.Bs inside Somalia and is in the process of establishing a buffer zone known as Jubaland. Just do a little research on project Azania by Kenyan intelligence

Always look for ever little nonsense to compare. Who is bigger, who is fatter, who is stronger, who is finer, who is classier and now we are down to who is more disciplined. Idiooooooottttttt!!!!!!

Yes,along with tactical proficiency which is what the profession of warfighting is all about.

Are you boys at this level?

You still haven't shown me a house for 25 dollars. Slum rent start at 5 dollars and max out at 10 dollars a month. Then you move to concrete slums - that start from 20 dollars to 50dollars. This is Nairobi. Travel distance is important . Nairobi metro obviously is peri-urban and transport to Nairobi is long - so you get more spacious houses - standalone - for 20-50 dollars.

And in Nairobi/Nairobi metro - there is enough houses for anyone.

This is not west africa - where you pay six months or 2yrs -or cannot even find those houses

Just30:
there are thousands of properties in Accra at 200 cedis to 350 and they are all still better than the things you posted...

I wonder why you guys live in terrible slums for 50 dollars ..... is it that there are no good properties within that price range?
