Title : The Breadloser

You bought Akara, you bought bread. It was 10pm. You were late from work. Where u went to play.

You kept walking the long and often lonely distance, that night. When you got to your new abode, it dawned on you that you didn't buy water.
Well, you just threw the bread and akara away.
No water. You neednt buy anything... anyway.

You have no neighbors, its a new cemetery in the middle of nowhere.

Then it dawned on you that the bread and akara was all you got for the night and might as well even be your morning food, you hiss in regret as you begin to search for the akara in the dark then you quickly remember it your Nokia phone in your back pocket, slowly you brought it out and with few flashes of your torchlight you find your treasure.
With wide smiles you pick it up calmly dusting away the sand and checking if the akara got soiled, so lost where you in this important work till you heard the rustling, you swung round and flashed your light.....TBC

Home Alone

I checked the kitchen again. It was empty as expected but I kept hearing the foot steps. Who could that be?

It was my first time alone in this new neighbourhood. Susan was away for a church program. I should have gone with her but she insisted I stay. As I felt the steps get closer I knew I had to do something. I looked around for a weapon just in case. Five homes have been robbed in the last two days.

I waited for the steps to get closer. I stood still with the TV remote in my hand, it was the best I could find. I stood there for almost 30 minutes but nothing happened.

The next day I insisted on going to church with Susan.

Ofcourse! I perspirated.
It hates moisture so I got wet.

I kept moving.

As it perceived me, I screamed, Loudly...!

Puzzling, right?

But it worked. The lion was flabbergasted.

You think I am crazy right? The lion probably thought I was crazy too.

So it just walked away?
Yeah, I wouldn't be here, hadn't it.

I was drunk.

My bed was probably drunk too.

Because I pissed and threw up in it.


I saw everything oscillating.

The ceiling fan rolls when it works but now it rolls like it's waving.

It was noon and I guess NEPA guys were at the gate banging.

Did u know they got beaten approximately 20 minutes later because they posted the wrong bill or cut the wrong wire I don't know what and I still don't know what because I was inebriated?

When I woke up there was no light in the whole avenue anyway.

I was the only one with solar power.

My house will besieged sooner or later.

MASQUE

Agbó stood still as the masquerades made their parade through the streets. Earlier that day, I had gone to the farm to get mama some firewood when I sighted them from afar. I watched in awe as they waved their sticks while people threw money and gifts at them.

Wow. So easy. In two years time when I turn 9, I would like to become a masquerade. Then I can make enough money and give mama the life she deserves.

COLD SHOULDER

But then you remember, yet you can't actually remember.

Because it is cold, or should I say you are cold

You were in the morgue alright and a man that doesn't really look like a man anymore was laid on a stretcher behind the door.

There was your brother too, standing beside the mortician, shivering and his face was white.
He is fine.

But it's cold, So cold.

It's definitely not fever, it is bone chilling and you were laid on a stretcher, in nothing but your birthday suit and a tag on your hallux.
Cold.
Stone cold.
It is the reason you are cold and you can't even whisper or shiver....

Pains and scars..

Such a young boy playing around,.
Having a dislocated elbow..
Treating it traditionally..
Going through massage pains still not good..
Ending up getting a surgery done
There came the scars still not good..
Still having massage and therapy
Going through endless pain..
Tried to go traditionally again but was advised to stop..
Had to live with it..

Every scar has a story but this story comes with pain..

15yrs and counting now.. all could have been avoided if only he listened to his mom's advice to stop playing rough..

Well I think everything happens for a reason..
The scars and pains built him up..

‘He threw himself off that tower" she said

“In this parish?" He asked.

Evelyn is shaking violently under the blanket that's drawn over her shoulders. It looks as though she had seen the world end before her very eyes. Constantly gazing up the tower, she shakes her head, whimpers and cries all over again. She had refused any further interrogation as the only witness to the suicide of Jacob.

Looking up at the tower for the millionth time, she stands, letting the blanket fall in a heap behind her. Straightening her back, she walks towards the tower. With every step, her heart thumps, beating hazardly against its cages, threatening to burst open.

Throwing the windows open, she says,

“I might as well be your Juliet"

Why the rich suddenly go broke

There was once a man named "Obi". He was a rich guy, but tragedy struck when he started assisting people who had potential but refused to work. His Chi was not happy with that, so he began to go broke. Obi wondered why he suddenly went broke from being a rich guy to a poor guy.

He woke up in the middle of the night and asked what could have happened to him. He realized that if everyone was like the poor people who have the energy and capabilities to work but chose to beg, the world would not be a better place. When he noticed someone approaching him for aid, he changed his demeanor and began to look away. His Chi was pleased with his new ideas and he began to rise again.

Once you approach Obi for help, he will tell you to go and work or rather, direct you to where you can find one.

Sometimes you need to check yourself to see if you are making your Chi angry so as not to remain stagnant in life. Obi learned his lessons and has been productive ever since he came about that idea. Not only that, but he changed the perception of some beggars that they have to work otherwise, no good for them. ( That doesn't mean he ignored the ones who needed it the most)




Note: It says 100 words short, but I had to make it long to pass a message to some people. You need to educate some of the people who beg on the road or stay by a shop to tax people for money. (The ones with complete bodies who you think can work)
