Who is going to UMass Amherst fall 2021? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by TWoods(m): 5:08pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
Approvalll: That isn’t grace, that’s just due diligence. Tired of Nigerians couching their laziness and lack of planning as “grace”. If you are going for a fall admission, you should start the process as early as October of the previous year. That gives you plenty of latitude to not need to file an emergency request for an interview. In some cases, schools allow you to start in summer (especially grad schools) if you’re going to be working in a research lab. 11 Likes |

TWoods:Man!!!! Grace is applicable in EVERYTHING we do as a human being in this world. Some are qualified with their FULL Funding, yet they got denied while some without even an iota of funding got it easily. VISA Approval sometimes is based on the VO discretion too as they’re all human being like you and I too, so it’s erroneous to split God’s grace from all we do man. What you suppose to have said is that we should not aball times place grace ahead in our decision making rather than to be more qualified at first and grace to be followed not that you will uttered that USA visa grace isn’t involved. That’s all 13 Likes 1 Share |

Dear Applicant, Your B visa appointment at the US Embassy has been cancelled. As of October 13, 2020, the United States Embassy in Abuja and the United States Consulate in Lagos resumed certain immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services, including immigrant visas in the IR1, CR1, IR2, CR2, and IR3 classes and nonimmigrant visas in the F, M, and J classes. While the Embassy and Consulate aim to process cases as soon as practicable, there is likely to be increased wait times for completing such services due to substantial backlogs. The MRV fee is valid and may be used to schedule an interview appointment in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at http://cdn.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ to request an emergency appointment. Please note this appointment was cancelled by the US Embassy and cannot be reversed by call center agents. Students and Emergency applicants are not affected by this cancellation. Sincerely, Help Desk Di anyone received this message? I didn't applied for B Visa. I applied for F1 and F1 is what's on my appointment confirmation page. 1 Like |

Bro it does you can be overqualified and still not get a visa I’m talking from personal experience the VO’s are humans and can be having a bad day and decide to transfer aggression to applicants by denying them everything concerning the US visa is a game of luck or grace as we know it and always remember we are blacks the policies of the western world are designed to keep the black at the bottom(white American people are naturally racists due to times of the slave trade never forget that most white people see black people as nothing more than animals truth can be bitter sometimes) TWoods: 1 Like |

Good evening all..... Please gurus in the house kindly help me review my transcript. Any correction/ contribution will be highly appreciated. PROPOSED TRANSCRIPT *COA: $32K FUNDING: $5 DEFICIT : $26K COURSE : MSc Bioengineering /Biomedical engineering* Vo: Where are you going/ Why are you going to the US? Me: I going to pursue my MSc program in biomedical engineering with concentration in medical imaging at bleep university located at xyz. Vo: Why this course? Me: Currently there is high rate of equipment downtime in most hospitals with very considerable lack of professionals in the field . As a medical radiographer, working with these equipments had revealed this yawning gaps hence my interest in pursuing this graduate program. Vo: Tell me about your study plans? Me: The program will span for a period of 21months ( between 17th Aug 2021- 31st May 2023) during which I am expected to complete a total of 30 credit units out of which 18 units are for my core courses while the remaining 12 units shall be for the electives. And I will offering courses like biostatistics, biomedical polymers, biosensor and instrumentation, mechanical engineering analysis, tissue engineering, biomaterials, bioanalytics, medical imaging systems, advanced fluid mechanics amongst others. Vo: How did You come about this school? Me : The school was strongly recommended to me by my college professor who bagged in his PhD from the school and by a friend who's also an alumni of the school. Vo: How many schools did you apply to? Me: In all I applied to 4 schools viz; University of Michigan, George Mason University and University of southern California and in all I got 3 admits and 1 reject. Vo: Why this particular school? Me: Apart from affordability when compared to school that I applied to, bleep university has a cooperative and experiential educational program which integrates class room experience with the real world thereby giving me the opportunity to meet with experts and professionals in my field of study. Also while going through the faculty Webpage of the school, I found a graduate research opportunity in prof xyz research who's currently working on model-based mathematical strategies for the analysis of biomedical images who expressed keen interest in having me in his team after I had explained my career goals to him. This will inturn provide with the advanced research skills needed for me to continue with the research work that I had already started with Dr bleep here in Nigeria which led to my interest of pursuing this graduate course. Vo: What will this degree do for you? Me: This degree will equip me the requisite research skills and knowledge needed for me tho thrive in this field and it will also put me in a better position to take up research roles upon my return to Nigeria in research institutes like institute of biomedical research, Nigerian institute of biotechnology and development agency among others and contribute my quota to the nation's building. Vo: What's your plan after graduation/ What do u intend to do with this degree? Me: Upon my return to Nigeria, I intend to continue with the research work that I was already involved in with Dr bleep that led to my desire in pursuing this graduate course. I also intend to become an independent consultant collaborating with research institutes and medical organisations in designing softwares to run complicated biomedical imaging equipments such as computed tomography ( CT) & Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines. Vo: What's your undergraduate course? Me: Medical Radiography & Radiological science. Vo: Why the switch? Me: It's not a switch per say, medical radiography which deals with the use of medical imaging equipments to diagnose diseases is a subspecialty in biomedical engineering where it goes beyond making diagnosis by the images produced by these machines to knowing the physics behind biomedical signal gathering, image formation, acquisition, modeling and quantification and also the engineering and technical aspect of these machines. Vo: Did you write any test? Me: No. However, I booked GRE and IELTS fortunately the dates for the exams fall within the first wave of the pandemic and as a result the the exams were postponed indefinitely. While I was waiting, I got admission from bleep university who waived the tests for me. Vo: Who's sponsoring you? Me: I was awarded the prestigious deans scholarship award of 30% off my tuition and the deficit will be taken care of by my elder sister who has been incharge of my education since my undergraduate. Vo: What does she do? Me: She's a cybersecurity engineer and works for the US military................ 5 Likes 1 Share |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Predstan: 8:53pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
Duisburg: Not true. The statement has to be six months dated back. 6 months statement of account is what you need for I-20 and at the embassy. While the school does not scrutinize the documents, the embassy may have to if they found any red flag |

Approvalll: It isn’t grace… we are our own worst enemies. More often than not, visa applicants appear for visa interviews with falsified documents, routinely lie about our travel intentions and cannot be trusted to strictly keep to the terms of our visas. That’s why they treat us that way. Black people from other African countries don’t nearly have the same problem we do. I don’t think they pray anywhere close to us. But to each his own. My advice is: 1. Plan well in advance - identify your schools, test and application requirements at least 1.5 years before your classes start. So if you’re targeting fall 2022, you should have started your planning in March/April 2021. 2. Try not to avoid tests like SAT, and GRE. They are essential if you want some form of financial support in bigger schools. They are easy enough tests. 3. For a fall admission, apply by October of the previous year. In other words, you should have your admissions in hand by January/February of the year you intend to travel. 4. Apply for a visa interview ASAP - as soon as you get your admission letter. Don’t wait until 2 months before you have to resume classes. Chikena. 7 Likes 1 Share |
