Same gas that we were told we have in abundant quantity and we are even flaring it away is what has suddenly become very expensive again undecided

What a country

I'm confused!!! The article is about a reduction in price and you are still complaining of it becoming expensive!!!

I hope the price reduction in future will not be something the country will regret.
Unfortunately, it's pretty much guaranteed that we eventually will. Not a single price control has ever been introduced without the hope that it won't get out of control, yet unless the control is so weak as to be meaningless, the "upward sticky" nature of prices almost always makes the bad outcome the inevitable one.

In this particular case, all we're seeing is Buhari yet again displaying his inability to comprehend economic activity other than in terms of controls and punishment of "evil" actors seeking to make a profit. It will never occur to him that it's precisely such meddling that has led Nigeria's power sector into the disaster it has become - instead, like Stalin he'll keep casting about ever more frenetically for "wreckers" and "saboteurs" to blame for his own self-inflicted catastrophes.

You're correct.

In the not so distant past, the oil companies found it economical to just flare the gas than put it back into the system because the price offered for it was too low. They still preferred to flare even when fined.

The market should be the sole determinant of the price.

What if I tell you they sell here 500 naira per kg(6kg=3000 naira).
And in the same city you will see different prices depending your location or how smart you are..
You be mumu. you better stop unnecessary courses on your leaders that do not have connection with your useless life .

Brain dead zone B.
It shall never be well with you and your ilk.
