Drivers on rentals are the ones paying 21k but rentals has been stopped for new drivers.

Honestly, they dont know and i wish they dont learn it the hard way.. Like i said earlier, someone rejected a 100k job offer from me because he prefers driving, he makes more and he's on rental.. If you think those riders you pick up everyday are doing better than you because they're on shirt and tie, with d figures i see here, then you're a joker.. Better take this hussle very seriously, because you are actually earning more than most of us in Victoria island/Ikoyi/Lekki/Ikeja...and if you think its stressful due to malaria/police/lastma wahala on d road, come to the OFFICE and see bigger wahala.. You dont appreciate d FLEXIBILITY advantage you have now, your eyes go clear soon... You wake up on ur own time and term, you decide where to drive to, you decide to park and take lunch, at any time, anywhere, you CLOSE anytime, and you decide to work or sleep the next day. Great flexibility, dont lose it.. Hustle and get your own CAR....
Read my post for the last one week, i have lost about 70k within d last 6 days, just because my office cant give me just 3 hours to quickly go supervise a proj and some boys i put on it. But you, you're making d money and yet highly flexible.. Again, FLEXIBILITY, dont lose it for peanut.. If i display cheerfulgiver dashboard for my next presentation here, more than 70% go consider resignation. Many can afford 3 corolla on their first day of resignation. He's not doing anything special from what i have seen, no be juju, just COMMITMENT. Do the time and simply get rewarded....and leave all this health ambassador to their doom, which is nigh.
Bros no need for long talk, if you are sure Uber is that good why not show them dashboard?
And encourage them to resign sharp sharp. After all you want their best, shebi all of us dey here.
Again one might reject 100k job not necessarily because he makes more than that on Uber but like you rightly pointed out nothing like being your own boss.

Do you f*cking know me? Na everybody sabi car parts/issues? What then is the job of the professional mechanics? This is my first car, I basically have no idea whatsoever, about cars.. So I threw the question out cos I know local mechanics can be funny. This is how you go fighting and jumping on matters that doesn't concern you.
Felicity001:

Why is it hard for we as Nigerians to be humble? Thats the question you should ponder about instead.

What stops you from getting the exact oil you know your car use? Don't blame the poor kazeem, blame yourself.

We want to register a car we contract it out to somebody

Formerly we want to get DL we contract it out and the person will ask for our details and passport photo.

We need tinted permit we contract it out and the person will go do fake for us

We need roadworthiness, vehicle licence, NIN, TIN so many other things we contract it to somebody who goes cutting edges and when the chips are down we start crying fowl casting blame on people whereas we are the problem ourselves.

Most of these things are things you can do ourselves but because of our bossy and colonial upbringing we prefer to send one "my boy".

It is well shall.

I come in peace o.

Called this madam before coming, at the gate and when I arrived only for her to start asking if I am at road 3 when I already told her I am in front of her house.
Next she said she's coming, I don't know if she was coming from heaven because it took her another 25 minutes to come out.
She eventually came out when I was trying to type my last post here, next thing I heard was let's go.
No apology, I said madam wait I am typing a message I want to send on nairaland.
grin
She was just there looking at me couldn't utter a word, I started her trip when I was done.
Maybe next time she won't waste another driver's time or learn apologize because it won't take anything away from her.
My rating have seen the effect already.

Great house, just to share my experience so far in this hustle.
Started this hustle around September without any experience in e hailing at all, I was lucky to see a tokunbo car for 2million on HP from a family friend. Corolla 03 to be precise. am working in a government school, so I only work on weekends and I was able to pay 1.5m for the car within 11month after paying 500k up front before taking the car. Today am signing my car paper as owner right now. Now I can say I am financially independent, bcs with this am rest assured of seeing something meaningful every weekend.

Thanks to Mr Felicity for giving some tips back then, and thanks to others that share their experiences here all the time. I don't joke with this thread,I always use this thread to relax every night for the past 3years even ever before joining the hustle,it's really helped me so much.

Now we move, slow and steady

Something happened last Sunday that made me think how low some drivers can stoop.

I got a request, went to the destination that the map directed me to, called rider and rider said they will be with me shortly.

Waited for 15 minutes before the rider called that they are out. It happened that the map took me to number 19, whereas the rider is in number 8.

While trying to reverse back to number 8, the rider called that I should cancel the order that they've gotten someone to carry them. I had to scream at her that after waiting for this long, you came out only to cancel?

She now said that I shouldn't cancel again, that I should come. I had to use reverse to meet up with them because the distance isn't much since it's the same street.

It was when I got there that they told me another Bolt driver stopped for them and asked them to tell me to cancel so they can request him.

I mean, there was surge that place. What will it take the driver to wait for 5 minutes to get a request on a Sunday that requests outweigh the number of drivers available instead of hijacking another trip from a fellow pilot.

O wrong now sad

People do not understand what is meant by "this life na per head". What works for Me A may not necessarily work for Mr B. The other day someone posted a question that made FP — how much is okay for a Nigerian graduate to earn as a minimum wage. Some people said 50k, some said 100k, some 150k, some 250k etc. Each answer valid because people will only comment based on their perspective.

Yes I understand, the economy has gone so bad that salaried employment doesn't currently seem ideal. Cheerfulgiver once mentioned that people earning 100k can barely afford to buy good work clothes which is very true! One piece of quality long sleeve shirt is around 7k now. Not to mention prices of shoes, ties, trousers, transport etc.

But I won't still advise anybody to quit a job of 150k and above (with good career prospects) to drive Uber. This hustle can be sweet especially when there's surge but it's not worth abandoning a promising career for.

Good Evening Guyz.

I'm a newbie on this thread and I'm about to start this hustle on the weekends only.

Apart from Drivers licence, do I also need Lasdri card and Driver Badge before I can start driving on Bolt?

I'm done with registration, my driver application is accepted and ready to use.

Now, my question here is;

Do I still need to go to Bolt office for inspection even after my account is activated?

Congratulation brother.....Now is the time to double your hussle...You know what, just assume in your head that you have not FULLY paid for that car, continue to work as twice hard as before, depending on your age though.. You know what i'll do? I'll set another MILESTONE from today, it could be a land, it could be another car, etc Just set a target for yourself, the same way you set that target of 1.5m which you have made today! Remain focus, prayerful and you shall be bless, in no time! And being financially independent, bros i don't think so, not yet!

God bless you sir, I hope people read inbtw d lines. No one is asking anybody not to come and drive we just mentioning the reality of the job with the dashboard being displayed.
There are good days in the hustle sweet surge , sweet riders going to sweet destination and with less stress 45 k on your dashboard.
There are bad days you will drop one rude rider inside hot sun, fake alert, with body pains and your dashboard still red, you will begin to fear the next trip and look for motivation to continue driving.

My thoughts and question “how many years can you drive in this Lagos to raise family and have a comfortable life” ?
