Please i need your opinion. My passport would expire in February 2022, but i intend to travel to Nigeria from Canada in December. I know going to Nigeria won’t be a problem but I don’t know about coming back in to canada. I wanted to renew in Ottawa but seems the calendar is booked up, and i don’t know if it would be possible to get my passport on time if I choose to renew back home. Can i enter canada with less than six months? I am a permanent resident |

akube34: Yes, as long as your passport is valid as at when you enter. |

akube34: 6 months passport validity are usually for visa issuance. I assume as a PR you have your PR card. So all you need is a valid passport. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1252&top=16 |

If I get your question right, Nigerian immigration that I know won't let you travel from Nigeria if your passport validity is less than 6months. Please make proper enquiries. I've seen too many people turned back at the airport because of this. akube34: |

Yes it's very possible. Try as much as possible to renew your passport before or after you arrive to avoid disappointment. akube34: |

Good day everyone, Please I need help from anybody who can do so. I am an applicant from the student visa for the Fall resumption and my application have well exceeded the standard processing time. I took our famous nairaland step of emailing the Mps and was lucky to get a positive response from just one office. My dilemma: The office just requested for additional information from me to enable them follow up with the application, my date of birth and my address where I would stay in Canada. I haven't booked my flight yet not to talk of an apartment. The expected help: Please, abeg, ejoor, mbok, biko, any resident of Halifax Nova scotia to help me with his or her address so I can send same to them. I don't want to miss this opportunity of their help as it has been known to spun visa officers to work. I am willing to forward the mail trail to any helper as proof. |

Doree:Why don't you just explain to them that you don't have an address because you are not in Canada yet? It's that simple. Don't take it for granted that these guys can understand another person's situation. What you shouldn't be doing is lying using another person's address. 1 Like |

Doree: You can use your school address. That was what I used (I also made it clear that I am an international student) and it was fine. 1 Like |

PedigreeCity: Some people have applied for visa, Canada inclusive, with “virgin passports” and were successful and some people have also been refused on ground of lack of travel history. Just shoot your shot, you may hit the bullseye. Hope this helps. |
