How else can I contact you bro. Can’t remember my nairaland email login details.
Hello, I am not sure how else. To avoid web crawlers and scrapers, I do not advise posting your contact details on a public forum. However, if you feel comfortable doing that then you may drop your email in a mention and I'd get in touch. Everyone else should please send a pm, thanks.

Preparing for life as a new Canadian and as an immigrant. One thing to keep in mind is that volunteering is part of the Canadian culture and is an easy way to get employment likewise Canadian work experience. We have set up a community that not only helps people bridge this gap by providing volunteering opportunities but also built a community that serves as both a family and resource. Thinking of migrating to Canada? Do you have Alberta has a focus, or seeking to specifically move to Edmonton? Then TCLI Foundation can be that settlement resource for you. Checking www.tclifoundation.ca can even get you prepared with programs, access, resources, networking, events, opportunities, volunteering opportunity even before arrival.
Start your journey empowered, because together we can. Information is always power. You dont have to struggle or start from the bottom as you are told, get empowered with knowledge. TCLI Foundation started to help immigrants, visible minority groups such as our fellow Nigerians so that the Land can favour us all. We gotchya.

Hello all,
please help with my questions below:

1. is it true that upon landing Canada, you have to apply for Social insurance number (SIN) online and it will take weeks to arrive? don't they issue it anymore at the airport upon landing?
2. if one has 1.5 years driving history on Nigeria Driver's license, does it mean one will not be able to use the FRSC driving history in Toronto so as to do G2 road test immediately after passing G1?
2. please if you have gotten FRSC diving history recently, could you please share the contact in Abuja and how long it took to receive the letter

Thank you!!!!

With your driving history, you can do G2 immediately after G1 and then the full G after 6 or so months.

Took me 5 Mins to get my SIN at Service Canada in Brandon, MB. It may take a few hours in cities with a lot more people and immigrants but I haven't heard of it taking weeks though - usually, a few days if it's done online.

Airbnb is the best option for now, and rent an hostel!

To offer free accommodation is quite difficult in this part of the world sad

I quoted in the request that I was happy to pay. I am actually more comfortable paying double of what an airbnb would charge for him to stay with a Nigerian for that first week.
I never stated that it was free

Thanks anyways. I will try to look for an airbnb for him.
