lordally:I know one guy who is addicted to these short term loans and he is so messed up. I think the interest rate is crazy. And that Renmoney is among. If you fail, they will hack your mobile, and start sending gerrible and blackmailing messages to your contacts. Personally, I think they should be banned and prosecuted. Someone needs to sue them all. That is bullying and threatening the peace of the society. That is a wrong method to collect debt. They need to be thrown in jail. So, I will rather avoid them all. Your option is dangerous also. And if it fails can earn one 10 years ban in the UK and auto life ban in the US and Canada, except something new which is miraculous happens. Bro, these embassy people know many cannot afford the kind of cash needed to go esp for tuition fees. And Bubari is even damaging the naira more. 99.999% of those who got the US visa in those days were not qualified. And they prevented people who were qualified. The US is not doing well with her policy at all. This is my view. Imagine still using greencard lottery. Lol. Using Lotto style to pick who migrates? Does that even make sense at all? That's the democrats for you. That's what Bill Clinton gave them as a way to bring in people who should develop them. And they brought in different people. The beautiful, ugly, bad and good. They even brought in terrorists. But look at Canada who decided to screen the process of hers well by tsrgetting professionals. Nigerians migrating to Canada are more responsible than those who are in the US. The loopholes in the US are what Hushpuppi and Invictus Okeke Obi took advantage of. The question is that why arent those loopholes in Europe or even in Canada. Those boys moved first to Malaysia in those days. That was why Hushpuppi first operated from there. And many of them moved to the US from Malaysia after the Malaysian govt started dealing with them all. Those boys made the Malaysian visa impossible too. Malaysia that used to see Nigeria as her god. See eh! What this nation has suffered in the hands of bad people are too much. Well, this is not a visa thread, so let's not derail it. 1 Like |

tensazangetsu20:Age is not a barrier; though, the chances are limited. It is just that at that 35 years and above you are not expected to pursue some kinds of visa options. If pursuing student visa, it must be PhD and really a matured route. But you will see 35 years in Nigeria pursuing BSc after reducing his age. So, the consular staff dont have eyes to see one is telling lies? I am sure the job route you are talking about does not discriminate concerning age. I know the route isn't possible for the US, and we have discussed it. And true, after 35 the chances are limited for professionals in Canada too. Why? The Canadian option too does not make getting job a criterion to apply. And they know that over 35 years people are lazy to start learning new things. But when they see someone who is able to still develop himself, I dont think age is a barrier. You cannot be in Artificial Intelligence and get a job and they deny you with all the evidences you present. They just will give you the visa if you truly have the job, except the US who I have said has faulty interview process. And as a 40+ years old person, you go as a contractor or specialist via business or conference. Just have travelling history and many other stuff. Then return after your initial travel. Set the option to switch to another category cos you can only do that from the US and not from Nigeria. This is what many dont know. Every country has it's own unique style. Everyone has equal chance in my opinion. One just has to look for the option that fits him or her and work towards it. At 35, they expect you to be able to spend well and not hustle. At a tender age they expect you to have sponsors so you dont go hustle. It's the same. But Nigerians have perfected the style to beat the options for young people. And this is why older people will start having more opportunities than the young. Young Nigerians are too deceptive. Let's focus on the tech start up businesses we have been discussing. 2 Likes |

tensazangetsu20: You are wrong. Most nations are not really looking at age, Canada for one, those ones want what someone can do in their country, what can you basically offer? Travelling to a nation does not end by age, Skills, critical thinking, a remote-first job can actually help you migrate without even further challenges. Even movie acting and directing too is another option, it just solely depends on the individual. I know a man who tried all he could to travel in his youth, no way. Now he thought of a business plan, and it was put to good standing and a VC in Canada invited him for talks in Canada, and today, the man runs a freight business in Canada, now guess his age? Dude is 51! He just moved his family, wife, and kids to Canada, and they are in Alberta as I type! The major thing is knowing what exactly you want as a plan. Are you migrating as a student or what exactly? Many embassies, except tourist destinations, are not even open at this point for tourist => migration like that, Canada, one could easily get in using TRV, then switch later on is something else now. or is it the US? Like I said, age is basically a number, it's what you can use to migrate is Key, thoughts and low thinking in Nigeria has made us believe that, if you cannot migrate thru Education alone, you wasting time, whereas, there are tons of ways to migrate. I rest my case here. I won't speak further. 1 Like |

gimakon:If they aren't looking at age why do they give maximum points for age to people between 20 to 29 and zero points to age from those from 40 above. Even from 35 age points start to reduce drastically. It's not easy migrating when is old except you have some incredible rare skills or you have serious capital to get a business visa. |

tensazangetsu20: That's what exactly I am telling you. And in most cases, you need to have an incubated idea for major brokers to buy into your idea. Otherwise na wild goose chase you day run so. You and Me saying the same thing here. FSW and PNP is not the only way to migrate to Canada Even EU has started adapting the investment program too. Relax sha, don't lose hope. First plan well even if it takes ur time and several years. Dont move when you don't have solid plans on ground. |

gimakon:Selling business plan may be obsolete. The new trend is building the business and selling it for huge cash. So, you may need to really move out too and make money, or move to a stable environment to be able to think and implement your ideas. You can stay abroad and run your Nigerian business. Your customers can be in Africa while you are abroad. Also, you may decide to target your host nation. Generally speaking, if you dont have a good idea for a tech business, or you dont have money to run it, I suggest you just move out from this n.asty environment. But return and you will see that the easiest place to make money is Naija. |

PeaceJoyLove: Maybe you don't understand. What the bank do is this, they put the money in your account and also work out the inflow and outflow of funds for any number of required month you want and they also put a total balance of the required amount you want and then you pay them for their services. If you use your ATM card you would see the money in your account but you cannot withdraw it. So if the embassy calls to enquire it would be confirmed that the money is there. Then after you're done with what you need it for, the bank go comot am it's simple. My friend who left for Poland in January used this method with a Balance of 2.7M. Banks do other businesses to make money. Do you know GTBANK also does Dubai Visa? See when times comes and you want to travel out , you would begin to discover things I mean LEGAL ways and things you can do to travel out. 1 Like |

gimakon:You will get my point. And if I am wrong, I will say it here. I am not the kind who argue when I am wrong. Kindly answer these questions sir: 1. Did Flutterwave have the history of raising a substantial amount before selling the Barter idea? 2. Was Flutterwave in existence and already a big game player before they sold the plan? Let me read your answers to these two questions sir. |

lordally: I used the wrong words. I apologize for that. PeaceJoyLove:What I should have used were: Your option might be dangerous also. But I guess it is not as dangerous as I think cos I didnt put the ATM factor in it. I totally forgot about it, and damn. Thanks for the details. Actually, I have a friend who borrowed some 7million plus. But my issue with it is that, it is 5% the first month. Too high. But that's what they always charge. I can imagine coughing out N350k for a month. If one has to keep it there got 6 months? That's 3.5m...I know there can be discount as the interest reduces. But mehn...N3m for just interest for 6 months? My friend is just for 1 month or so. Or maybe I am wrong about the thing. So, that your friend who paid N100k for all, I'm just curious how he did it. Maybe we can talk privately. Or if you can give me the moniker of the guy, will just like chatting with the person. Many people who genuinely want to study abroad and can pay instalmentally can use this means to help themselves get visas. I know quite a few I can introduce to it if truly the cash reflects and can always be verified via ATM anytime, and the people will not move it out cos of internal wahala. |
Re: Steering The Wheel Of Tech Startups In Nigeria by Nobody: 12:00pm On Aug 12, 2021 |
gimakon:Ok. It is the obsolete you frowned at. Ok. I apologize, too for that. Really, what I wanted to say was that just selling a plan will not work without having an asset is obsolete. The asset can be the product you want to sell, the business itself, or goodwill. Goodwill is what Flutterwave leveraged on. And you know that when selling businesses, goodwill doesnt reflect in profit and loss statement...but the amount of goodwill can be mad if the company is solid. I dont joke with goodwill at all. So, goodwill can even be "you", the person. When they see that you gat stuff in you, people will listen to you. Actually, I paid more attention to you with the comment of the other guy. And then, I read some of your comments which are super. So, I think you are ok. May God help you too. |

PeaceJoyLove: Its good you understand now. Now myself I am working on something like Uber but its for health and co. Where we can have Mobile doctors at our Disposal. Working on it with React Native , react-native-maps (used in Airbnb) , REST(in PHP) and google developer console for the maps and all. So that's one of the MVP I want to sell to investors. Wont speak much from here ...lol... |

PeaceJoyLove: This is ridiculous! And outrageous!!! 3.5M total interest for a loan of 7M?? God forbid! That 3.5M if I had it late last year I would have been in Poland by now! Via work visa ( Blue Collar job ) nawa o that interest is neck cutting! Habah! |

PeaceJoyLove: Ahhhh no ooo Baba mi there's nothing to apologise for o abeg You know how some people behave when they move abroad lol they cut off communication and start feeling they have blown. Fortunately for me, before we stopped communicating he had given me the little vital extra information I needed. And he doesn't comment on Nairaland again since he moved out lol. We can communicate via mail so we won't derail the main purpose of this thread I'll send you mail. And yes, the money can be confirmed using your ATM and aside that , the bank gives you the hard copy too which is well stamped. But the funny thing is just like you walk into a bank and tell them you wanna buy dollars , they would tell you they don't have but you would have to look for Aboki, same goes to this Statement stuff. If you happen to be in Lagos then we could plan a meet up the I'll come with the man who come do it. For now , I don't know if he can do it and send to people outside Lagos I'll need to confirm from him dou. |
