Hi everyone, I would like to ask, is Corolla 2003 LE acceptable by Uber/Bolt/Indriver? And is it a good choice as well? |

IFEBARBIE: Uber!!! Always getting it wrong. Charging Drivers and Riders the highest, how do they expect to grow? The only advantage they had over Bolt was Customer Support and App Stability. Bolt has so far covered this gap. The only solution now is reduce fare reduce commission and do aggressive marketing. 9 Likes |

bolutic: Hmm... What ever the case maybe just be sure you know how to drive long distance trip and high-highway driving. Lagos highway driving and inter state highway driving no be the same thing oh. Ask him of his budget, make plans for ur reservation and feeding and make sure his offer covers for all of that. Indians no dey pay well so expect something less but make sure the trip is worth it that's of you went on it. Where in Delta state by the way? You can use the rider's app as you charging rate then multiply by 2 without adding cost of reservation, I.e if it's just drop off but if its to and fro do like wise then add reservation to the resulting amount. I hope this helps. May you find more favour. Isha alha! 4 Likes |

Pearl1910: I don't agree with you on the fares. I don't think most Uber riders mind the fare really, and I'm saying this cos I ask a lot of riders I converse with why they do bolt instead of Uber. It's mostly because of the pickup times and drivers refusing to go where they're going. BUT it's mostly pickup times. Bolt rides are usually closer to the rider since bolt mostly assigns trips based on proximity. Drivers also don't want to drive 5kms to pickup someone going maybe 10km, and this is me being generous, many times pickup distances are longer than the actual trip, so drivers will rightfully cancel. This has greatly impacted on their reliability. Many drivers ported, riders ported too. If they switch to assignment by proximity, show rider destination along with these fares, BOOM... I'm game. I've always preferred Uber as a company but man's gotta secure the bag. 10 Likes |

Pearl1910: They have the market already bros but their strict business policy is what is kicking against them, who knows if they've a standing contract or franchise in Nigeria because I see no reason why they still don't want to shift grounds even with numerous calls from both drivers partners and the customer- riders about some of their policies. What will it take to at least review destination of a ride request? Allow drivers to cancel without haven to drive 5km to PU then wait 5min b4 cancelling on every trip the driver doesn't wish to embark on due to destination not been reviewed at the point of accepting the ride. It's a stupid, crazy and senseless policy to say the least. Another annoying thing is you can't even mail them unless via their app weather as a rider or a driver... Nonsense! So if BAZ001 eventually migrate to the USA now Will they tell him to go on a trip to where he doesn't even know at all? Will they go bankrupt if they reduce commission to say 18% or re-introduce a similar campaign like the one they had b4 the lockdown? 3% after 20 rides in a week... Mad campaign... See how drivers where well behaved and working hard and cashing out and making money for them as well then. The average rider in Nigeria already have the notion Uber is expensive, even their surge can go as high as 3.5x just imagine the impact this recent increase will tell on riders pockets come December yet they're going home with a whooping 25%+N20 commission on each trip. No na! O wrong! What will it take uber to allow both the driver's and rider's app run simultaneously on the same phone? Meaning, as a uber driver partner you can't use the rider's app to order a ride for yourself or a relative or friends who are stranded somewhere or need to go out, you can't order a ride to take your wife and kids out even when you're not available. Just imagine! Now consider these things: No pension for drivers No health care for drivers No Bonus/incentives No festive/new year package No cheap loan facilities for drivers to assist them with fixing of their car or carry out some medical bill payment or add up to get a car No retirement benefit say after partnership with them for some numbers of years. No free rides for drivers fully paid 100% if they request from the same mobile number used to register their driver's account maybe if they don't feel like driving, travel or for some any reasons Nothing of any kinds... Yet drivers partners are paying millions of naira yearly to their coffers. And funny enough they still go ahead to block or suspend a driver's account to low rating, high cancellation rate aming others... Isn't this a dracula policy? Have You ever sat down to calculate how much you pay as commission to Bolt and Uber in a year b4? You may go mad knowing and yet no form of appreciation from them after many years of partnership, the only thing you get is achievement from your personal savings from your earnings. Just see the lagos state government who provided road from tax payers money oh, even after taxes and operating licenses being paid yearly by these companies yet they still collect N20per trip and drivers are the one paying for it, yet we the drivers championing all these expenses get nothing other than 75/80%-N20. It's that crazy? Theae are parts of the things we as good citizens of the country need to come together to address for the betterment of our life, the government will only use their power to get what they want but we as a people we have to also use our rights to also get what we want from either the government or any organisation we're using our lifespan to discharge their duties for. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

In other un-driving related news, the grammar here, nna mehn. Its terribly amusing. Sometimes I can't read posts fully. The construction of sentences, spellings, faulty use of tenses, OMG!!! I believe some folks basically spell-as-pronounced cos mannnn I can't comprehend. AND IT'S HIRE, HIRE, HIRE PURCHASE... as in to HIRE/RENT-TO-OWN NOT HIGHER PURCHASE. XGhost: Bolt took over even before they started showing riders destination to drivers. Drivers ported to Bolt because they stood a chance of earning more. Riders ported to abolt because they spent less on same trip compared to Uber. The driving factors here is price a rider pays and what a driver stands to make. If Uber was cheaper for riders and more lucrative for drivers, drivers will not mind using uber. Highest na to ask Rider where they r going, for me that's not a big deal cos I still do it to confirm what I see while using Bolt What made Bolt takeover was the no cancellation fee and then cheaper fare for rider, more money for driver. Not forgetting Bolt was generous with bonuses on both sides. Long pick up on Uber is a side effect of Drivers not using the App anymore, so if they want to solve their problem of customer migration, they should look at d root cause not focusing on the symptoms. If they want to serve a small niche of the population that's fine, then fare may not be the problem, but u and I know that in this Nigeria, u will not flourish doing that, cos d people that have d money will rather drive their cars or employ a driver 90% of the time. Reason why they discontinued the higher Uber Categories. Bolt too tried that premium service but drivers complained they weren't getting trips on it. U hardly see individuals using Bolt corporate because it is more expensive. How many people will see 1k and 1,200 for same trip and choose 1,200? Why do u think Indriver is growing? Why did Uber remove their pricing from Google map?? So my brother price is d king in this business. Uber has started small small to give juicy bonus to drivers. 30trips Monday to Thursday 7k. This is to lure drivers back with high earnings. But if u pursue d riders with higher fares, it's counterproductive. Except Bolt too will increase fare, which I doubt. 2 Likes |

Felicity001: The amazing thing is that they are flexible in the western countries, different policies for different states in the US, different policy for UK and other European countries, they adjust to suit the demands of the city/state but they are just adamant in Nigeria. Like u said the Nigerian team needs to be slapped, for allowing this to happen to them. 5 Likes |
