On another topic, selling Lewis Bate for £1.5m to me is still madness. I felt we could have got more. Livramento had not kicked a ball in any senior appearance and we got £5m. I expected Lewis to fetch similar figures.

That said, I still can't get over letting Livramento and Bate leaving. I think we need to get on top of this very quickly. These two were the absolute proper potential players to make it to the first team. Losing Lewis, Tino and Ike in one window is not a good thing even though it helps to buy Lukaku. It looks like a crisis.

We lost Bate, but Colwill is waiting. Livramento's gone, but Sterling is back in shape. We'll produce more talent to make up for the ones that we lost.

Though losing Livramento and Bate really pain me sha. But there was realistically no chance of either of them making it into the first team, which is what they're looking for. Most of these guys no get patience again - they want first team football, and they want it now. They'd rather go elsewhere than spend time on loan, which is the direction they wrree headed. See Gilmour and Ampadu - both are talented and both have even played for the senior team, yet they haven't broken in like the likes of Mount and James.

They don't want loans, they don't want plenty money, and they don't have patience. They believe it'll be better to go elsewhere and build a solid foundation now, instead of potentially falling into the sometimes vicious loan cycle. We just had to cash in.

And I'm not surprised Livramento fetched far more than Bate. I don't think any academy player has had more hype than him in the past season.

Thankfully the likes of Anjorin, Broja and Sterling are willing to stay and fight.

Raumdeuter was trolling Terry at 36, picking faults in his game. We told him to come back when Boateng is that age. Now look at Boateng, 32 and clubless.

Different policies!

Clubs like Chelsea and City operate an expensive and large youth program/facilities with the aim of earning loan fees, future sales from the few that make it, etc. Clubs like Brentford don't even bother to run an academy. Others like United and Barca run their academy with the aim of bringing up players with the club ethos and mentality.

It's all about understanding the pros and cons of each system.
What are you talking about
Number 1. You added City
Number 2. Before Fati when was the last time Barca had a player from their academy in their XI

Bate fee and deal still has clauses that benefit Chelsea, besides Bate has other young midfielders in Chelsea ahead of him, Livramento has a back buy clause. Ike staying when Broja is there, it's the same call Chelsea made for Abraham and that guy whose name I have forgotten.

It doesn't look like any crisis, don't make it out into what it is not. Chelsea can keep all these players, it's great they produce talent in volumes, maybe at times we lose Jamal and keep Odoi

exactly, and because of the volume of talent Chelsea produce they dont need to force any player to stay

Boateng by 25 won everything Terry could not win in his entire career. CL and world cup title on the field

Ronaldinho at 32 was not playing top level football does not make him mates with Mark Noble

John Terry at 2010 world cup I dont know if he was 36yrs old then

"John terry 4
Culpable, like upson, for the first goal. His full-blooded but increasingly static style was no match for the quick feet around him."

"terry- 4: Completely misjudged the long ball that led to Klose's goal and after a brilliant display against Slovenia he ended his tournament as a flop along with several of his team-mates.

"John terry: 4/10
Caught out of position and misjudged the ball for Germany’s opener. Shared upson’s inability to shackle Klose. Time is catching up with him."
"John terry
Was pulled apart by Germany's forwards and lightning counter attacks. It has been a turbulent World Cup for terry and struggled to command his defence

Ronaldinho at 32 was playing top level football in his country. Why can't Boathand get club in Ghana or Germany?

Great defenders are known for being great at 32, but calamitous Boathand is unattractive to even Accra heart of Oaks of Ghana. grin grin

Top level football is being played in Brazil? when he was at his peak why was he not in Brazil?

Everyone with basic football knowledge know only top players ready to retire move to Brazil

Neymar was bought for how much from that same Brazil? Corinthians won club world cup twice now, they played in which league?

If you are good you are good and at 32, you will find a team in your country to play for except you are useless like Boathand.

1. City operate a large academy like Chelsea and they actually made good money from selling some of their players this season. They also loan them to clubs in the City group.

2. That does not change the policy at Barca. Aldo during that period that had issues with keeping promising talents that usually got poached by English teams (e.g Arsenal and United).

1. This season being a one off, seeing as Pep is willing to spend £150m to poach Kane after purchasing Grealish for £100m

2. Policies are BS when they ain't followed, if not for recent crises in Barca and maybe new management. Like I stated, before this period who and when was the last time. You mentioning United I didn't question it, but now stating united poached players from Barca academy make scummies no see am. I doubt if barca academy is even better than united or arsenal academy.

1. Ofcourse it took some time for City to reap the rewards of their youth investment. You know they won the u-18 and u-21 leagues I their region right?

2. The discuss was on their youth policy and not if it's better than those of United or Assanal.

If you spent your youth well winning CL and world cups early in life, you dont need to be playing till 40 to prove a non existent career
Boateng won the CL and world cup on the field in his mid 20s which Terry never achieved despite playing till 40
