Go n read history of how Russian (Soviet union) tried to invade Afghanistan, US went in to help the Afghanistan by training some resistance to defeat the Soviet union, after the defeat of the Soviet union, these resistance trained by US form a militant group know as Taliban and they became extremist, they took over the govt and imposed sharia law. There was no freedom of movement for women, no education for women, women were stoned to death for various crimes, hands of thief's were cut off etc.

Afghanistan became breeding ground for various terrorist organization, including Al Qaeda, they provided shelter of Osama bin laden after 9 11 attack.

US had no choice than to invade Afghanistan and topple the Taliban government which they once trained.

So it was the Soviet union invasion that caused all this if u look at it not US invasion.

I agree with you but I'm sure every religion, combining some aspects and acted upon like you said, have tendencies to produce religious extremism.. But I think that's where humanity and logic comes in..
