Jesus Christ did not teach that people go to heaven or hell when they die. Instead, in Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46, Jesus Christ taught that it is only after He returns, and has judged the works of men, that they will then be ushered either into Heaven or Hell, not before.

Those who die in Jesus Christ are instead asleep in their graves, waiting for Jesus Christ's return- John 5 vs 19 - 29

But I read 2 Corinthians 5 vs 1-9, and the writer in no way suggests that when you die, you immediately go to Heaven. Recall my asking you over and over to tell me what it is you wanted me to consider.

Now, again, what puzzles me is that you don't seem to, yet again, pay particular attention to fgay which was taught you by Jesus Christ, the one whom you probably claim to belong to. Why is that so?

The Kingdom of God belongs to Jesus Christ and He is the Law of this Kingdom, so why not focus on Him and on Him alone?

Jesus Christ more than made it clear to His followers that Heaven and Hell will not opened for businesses until after He has returned and judged all those who will be admitted... the first shall be the last and the last shall be the first.

Just as Jesus died in the flesh and was resurrected as a spirit {1Corinthians 15:44} so the born again Christians were looking forward to their reunion with Christ Jesus in heaven where flesh and blood (body) can't go. That's why Jesus could say those going there will no longer get married because it's the body that determines our gender and there they will become like angels (spirits) {Luke 20:35-36} that's what Paul is reminding his fellow born again brothers. Their journey there is not what eyes can SEE! 2Corinthians 5:7

In acts 7:59 he said, Lord Jesus receive my spirit.

Stephen is a born again Christian, during the resurrection of the born again Christians Stephen will be transformed into a SPIRIT so that he can go and meet Jesus in heaven! 1Thessalonians 4:16
If flesh and blood (body) can't go to heaven {Luke 20:34-36} do you think Stephen was talking about his spirit to be taken at the time of his death?
If Jesus has taken Stephen's spirit to heaven at death then what will be resurrected when the trumpet sound? 1Corinthians 15:52

Well Stephen believe that his hope of living again now lies in the hands of Jesus who has been given all the power in heaven and on earth! Matthew 28:18
