Hello. Looks like you’re in the science field and most likely looking to do research since you mentioned PI. No you don’t need to tell her to put in any words for you yet. I’d suggest you reach out to the new professor and indicate your research interest to him/her. You can also include in the mail that “Prof. xxxxx suggested we might be a good fit in terms of research.” Make sure you include your CV/Resume and undergraduate transcript if possible. Best.

Hello, i went for my visa interview this morning at the lagos, Nigeria embassy today.


Unfortunately i was denied for the f1 student visa at the cosulate. The visa officer asked me just three questions and the interview went like this.,


Vo: why are you going to the united states?
Me: I'm going to the united state for my undergraduate program to study public health and wellness in rowan university
Vo:what attracts you to this university?
Me: i was attracted to this university initially because of its uniqueness of having two medical campuses, one in stratford and the other in camden, they also have the best facilities for course, i also love their class module and size in which i dont have to struggle to hear what the lecturer is saying.
Vo:I've you been out of the country before?
Me:no i haven't, i have no reason to.

Then he gave me back my passport and i20 with the blue paper.
What could be the issue?

Your reason for choosing the university is very vague. You should have talked about how it will help you future ambition, how the courses are tailored, the school's research areas etc.

Kindly read the transcripts of other people in this thread and make the necessary adjustments. All the best.

Well you can ask then if they can send you a updated I 20 with remarks stating that you resumption was extended to September. If they refuse just print out a copy of the email

I have been admitted to study Nursing in a school in NYC, to resume this week even, hoping to get a response for my expedited interview request ASAP. I really haven’t seen anyone (Undergraduate Nursing specifically) post transcripts here and I am really curious as to what kind of questions to expect, please I would really appreciate if anyone can help in this regards. I am a Bachelors degree holder, recently completed, yet to do my Youth service, hoping to do it later too.
Also, my I-20 has my resumption date which would not correlate with my actual date of arrival in the US (me speaking with faith), what can I do as regards this?
Finally, I really hope my using my uncle, who is a citizen of the US and currently residing in another state other than the one my school is located, as sponsor won’t be a problem (even though my older sister actually resides in the same state as my school).
I sha have plenty things getting me worried and anxious. Please anyone, help!

So what is the need or reason of denying Nigerians visa to go to school, people who are properly documented and have paid all necessary fees, just going for studies. You deny them out of shear pride and wickedness.

Your visa fee allows you to choose only 2 date once you exceed that you will have to pay a new fee

It isnt really rare if you play your cards right. Your cgpa is low but you have a good GRE score. After the person has gotten admitted to a US institution, paid acceptance fee, paid SEVIS, paid visa fee, etc
