Obiano has really outperformed even the most hard-working governors. I'm still shocked how he pulled this off while still paying salaries and maintaining services. The Vice President was there two days ago to commission a huge electricity sub-station he built and the giant shoe plant he built in partnership with CBN.

Quite on point

I just LOVE how he said, those asking why I should land in Anambra airport should build their own and land on it. As if it's that easy grin cheesy

Clearly referring to some disgruntled politicians that hoped and prayed the airport would not be completed so that they will make it an election issue. Unfortunately for them, it was completed by a warrior Akpokue dike GLOBAL!! Lol.... grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

There is serious gnashing of teeth about this feat right now. lol.. grin grin grin grin grin grin

No wonder they crawl out here every night to write some silly mischief how Chicago O'hare airport is a bigger airport than Anambra. Forgetting to compare Chicago O'hare to even Abuja International which is the flagship of the nation. grin grin grin grin

What is so hard about commending one who has performed excellently in office?

With carousel and furniture in place, the airport would soon open for commercial flights. Even if its only daytime flights for now, until all the equipment are installed.

This is a great feat. They are not leaving anything to chance.

In time Obianos single biggest achievement from the over 800 billion naira he spent since 2015 will be the 4-6 billion naira International Conference Center which is unparalleled in the South East. Finally trade shows, awards, business conferences and political conferences will be held in Anambra not just Lagos and Abuja. Lets hope as he is taking power from Agu Awka to the airport he will spare a thought for ensuring constant supply to the Conference Center and environs.

Airpeace Is Ready To Deploy Planes To Anambra Airport- Chief Allen Onyema

By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airpeace Nigeria Limited, Chief Allen Onyema says at ninety five percent completion stage, Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri is ready to commence commercial activities.

Chief Onyema who gave the disclosure upon his landing at the airport for the third time, described the airport as a gateway into the South East Region.

His landing concided with Governor Willie Obaino's weekly inspection visit to the airport in company of members of Anambra State Organized Labour.

The Airpeace boss who disabused people's mind from thinking and seeing it as a white elephant project, stressed that it received the fastest approval by the federal government of Nigeria.

He applauded the federal government for corperating with Anambra State, described the project as befitting as the federal government is pushing commercial activities into the South East and added that Anambra airport is better than most airports in the Country.

According to Chief Onyema, every facility in aviation is already within the airport, noted that it is a legacy project that nobody can ever doubt.

He called on people who have businesses outside the state to come and invest, as the facility has the capacity to provide millions of jobs in the areas of travel agencies, hotels, resorts among other business opportunities as, stressing that the airport is viable for such businesses.

Among those who were part of the visit was the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr. Paschal Agbodike.

Thank you for acknowledging the bond but if those flyovers obiano construct is massive like you said, why is it creating hold ups instead of solving them?
What stops tankers from going through the massive flyovers like they're doing with wike and umahi flyovers? Or is that what massive means in aboard that you stay?

We don't want traffic jam on the flyover from badly maintained heavy duty vehicles(the usual thing with Nigeria) spoiling and obstructing traffic or even causing accidents on the flyover. So let them use the underpass.

Thank you.

Glad they chose to install high-quality modern airport seats like those in Frankfurt International airport, Germany!

This is a serious upgrade to an African airport! Many African countries' international airports don't have these modern seats!

Kudos to Gov. Obiano, Engr. Marcel Ifejiofor and all the people working tirelessly to ensure only the best quality is good enough for this airport. I love how they totally rejected mediocrity that typically happens in southeast projects and went for the best global high-quality materials and furnishing.

Typically, African airports have these very basic iron fabrication as passengers seats. No USB plugin for charging phones or any basic comfort for passengers.

Hopefully, they also implement a system where passengers can easily pay and rent a luggage cart to prevent the nuisance of touts experienced at our airports.

Airpeace to establish a flight academy in umueri to be one of the best flight school in Africa, he's also interested to building airport hotel and resort.
He Also adviced his excellency to construct a road from the airport to Riverine areas so that it will be developed.

It's going seeing Anambra state developing.
This airport will really bring in huge development into Anambra thanks for Obiano, he's not leaving a stone behind.

You can tell this man is desirous to see Anambra develop quickly. Makes you wonder just what someone like Prince Arthur Eze is doing with all his billions of dollars...that is, besides dolling out cash to praise-singers and engineering strife in the state! Can anyone point to any world-class project he has done or is doing for his state?

I didn't know Allen Onyema was married to an Igala woman! Now it makes perfect sense why his prime aircraft, the Boeing 777 was named "Ojochide". I kept wondering what Igbo clan would have OjoChide as their name. The guy is a detribalized person sha. Just that its very very silly to be detribalized in Nigeria. Ask Nnamdi Azikiwe.

This airport will bring loads of development to Anambra state indeed. Obiano our governor is indeed a man of vision. Umueri and all the neighbouring towns will witness exponential rate of real estate development as the benefits trickle down. Our people will stop going to faraway Zaria or Illorin to be trained on how to become pilots.

The state government could setup an MRO facility in partnership with Ethiopian and Air Peace to service some of the more common planes in the region such as the short haul 737 jets. Air Peace lacks the expertise and capital on its own. However it would be competing with Lagos which has the advantage of both Air and sea connectivity.
