Hello house, who has submitted a family application (student, spouse and child) recently? Did you submit all at once or you submitted one by one for each family member?

To the best of my knowledge, IRCC usually advice that family applications should be done together.

Hope this helps.

masters in Canada is usually 2 years .The thing with self sponsorship is that you must have your full school fees ,ur living expenses and like 3000CAD for transportation and miscellaneous in your account or give a valid explanation on how the money will come with substantial evidence. so if u got that covered, u r good to go.

''masters in Canada is usually 2 years'' - I think some, if not most, are 1 year in length.

"The thing with self sponsorship is that you must have your full school fees ,ur living expenses and like 3000CAD for transportation and miscellaneous in your account or give a valid explanation on how the money will come with substantial evidence." - This applies to both self-sponsor (applicant alone) and self sponsor (family/relation).

I think that is the general rule when it comes to POF (Tuition + Living Expenses + Transportation (in & out of Canada).

I believe even in rare cases of full funding/scholarship (not too sure though).

The above is just my opinion, I stand to be corrected grin

Hope this helps.

Please I did biometrics while applying for TRV 2/3 years ago through an agent in Lagos and I want to apply for a study visa now (Abuja) would I need to do the biometrics again? Then for submission of passport for stamping must it be through a courier or could be in person?

Thanks.

Your biometrics is valid for 10 years. So, if you applied like 3 years ago (2018 or there about), then you are good to go.

Because of Covid-19, submission for now MUST be through a courier service company. Usually, DHL or UPS.

Hope this helps.

Pls I need help nairalanders, I did change of data and capturing on my international passport since May 31st in Abuja and till date I’ve not gotten my passport all I hear is it’s in production. I don’t know what to do pls

Oh dear. If not for the twitter ban, you would have reached out to NIS on there cos they were very active on that platform in responding to complaints.
I would suggest you check out their website for passports that are ready for collection. I don't have the link anymore, but it should be on their website.
And pls, if you are a PPR hopeful, send in your passport to IRCC once it gets to you.

Hope this helps.

Hello everybody, I just landed in Canada, the SP journey has been a hectic one, but grateful to have gotten here.

Landing gist,
Arrived MMA by 9 for my 1:45pm flight with Ethiopian airlines, the airport was basically empty, so I tipped the baggage security people 1k cos they already hailing me boss and said I can’t give them 5H, then I continued to agriculture declaration venue, I didn’t declare any agricultural products (though I had a bag full of food items) I just told them it’s clothes and books and since it was in a box, they let me go. Went ahead to check in, my bags weighed 20kg and 22kg, at check in; I showed Arrivecan, Covid test, admission letter/enrollment letter and Passport.
I got my boarding passes and proceeded to customs and immigration, I didn’t tip anybody, the airport was empty and nobody had my time, so it was quick. In 5mins I was done with immigration and my passport was stamped. Proceeded to board and we left for Addis Ababa, arrived at Addis Ababa, proceeded to my Gate and boarded my flight to Toronto. The flight stopped in Dublin for refuel and then proceeded to Toronto. Got to Toronto, didn’t declare anything at Customs, showed them I’m fully vaccinated and I was given the green sticker which meant I was exempted from quarantine and proceeded to immigration.

At immigration, my village people wanted to try nonsense because my passport and visa information was not coming up on the Immigration officer’s system, he kept scanning and typing. Finally it came on and we were both relieved. He asked about my school, fees and acceptance letter and proceeded to print out my study permit. By the time I finished at immigration, I had missed my flight to British Columbia which is my final destination. Went to the Air Canada counter and told them that I missed my flight because of the immigration officers and the woman rescheduled the flight for me without any extra fees (apparently I think if immigration makes you miss your flight, the airlines are not supposed to charge you, that’s what the immigration officer told me when I was trying to tell her I’ll miss my flight).

When my flight was rescheduled to 8pm…and I had 12hours in Toronto, I called a friend who came and took me to downtown Toronto and other places, ate a lot of food and walked a whole a lot. Came back to the airport and boarded my flight to BC (Toronto to BC is like Lagos to London)

Just arrived BC, and I’m waiting for a cab to go to my apartment.

I pray everybody on this journey will give their own landing gist soon! Amen!

All the best guys!

Congratulations!!!

I was also given a green sticker but presently on quarantine cry
It is well grin

Congratulations... May the land favour you
Please I want to inquire, were you fully vaccinated before you left?
2. In case someone only received one dose of the vaccine and one has gotten an apartment, will one still quarantine in an hotel or the apartment?
Thank you.

Hotel stay stopped on August 9.

Probably, the apartment. It depends on what you filled on your ArriveCan or quarantine plan.

Hope this helps.

You don't have to be in Lagos to access to vaccine. Check the nearest primary health center closest to you.

Sure she did like I mentioned on my post. Her layover was about 5 hours, so she chilled at the airport.

Also someone shared a recent landing gist and he had a 12 hours layover connecting from toronto to BC. So his friend in Toronto picked him up and went to downtown to chill before he came back for his trip to final destination. Just simply note that you get your SP at your point of entry.

Gottigoodgood:

Thank you Viviangogos
Your friend had a connecting flight to Calgary? How long layover she had in Toronto?

Timeline: Long Post Alert!!!

I actually typed some of this in faith on 27th July in anticipation of PPR cheesy thank God I get to post it now.

First Time applicant. Virgin passport sef
Got admission for a funded program in Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia for an LLM. The scholarship was just enough to cover my school fees though, so I was still left to provide funds for living expenses.
Admission tips: I actually followed Dr. Linda Iheme's you tube tips on getting scholarship programs. I am glad it worked out on my first trial.

I gathered the necessary documents I needed. My only problem became proving my funds for living expenses. I got a Deed of gift from my dad of about 12k CAD which would technically be the major fund in my account upon the transfer of the cash. That was my fear throughout the entire wait. But what I ensured, courtesy of the free advice being thrown around in this forum, was that I proved hat my husband and I were established in our own way. I submitted my Husband’s travel history, his Cac documents, my salary account, my identification as a Lawyer etc. I just wanted to pass the message that I am not relying entirely on my father, that my husband "who I refused to show his account statement" is still capable of supporting me. I backed all this up with lots of prayers, Rosary and Novenas and a well structured SOP. I am good at writing. Thank you. Did I mention I also wrote my father's letter of support and my husbands spousal consent letter where I wrote from their point of view all geared towards giving a firm foundation to the buildings I erected in my SOP? My only problem became the uploading part. Unfortunately, I am not tech savvy at all, and I can't help it. Luckily, I got the help of someone I contacted from here "Blavkmaan I hail o" who helped with all those compressions and uploading stuff. Not without discarding some of my 'prized' documents o which he deemed as unnecessary. And then, the wait began...

In all, I give all Glory to God who have deemed me worthy to enter an international flight for the first time. See you all in Canada! Much love from here

Docs submitted In addition to those listed up:
Client info:
Admission letter
LLB Certificate
BL certificate
Letter of past introduction from my Lawyer ( it was for this purpose, for obvious reasons)
Sample of my Lawyer's stamp to indicate active practice of Law.
Proof of fund:
My SOA
Funding letter
A fixed deposit certificate from where I spinned the narrative that my father fixed the stated sum in anticipation of my admission. The money was transferred the next day after the collapse of the deposit to my account and i pointed it out on my SOA. I didnt show my dad's SOA though.
Home Ties:
Marriage certificate.
Son's birth certificate
I also indicated my shares in my husband's CAC documents. Nevermind the company is not active o wink

Thank you all for your active support and advice on this forum. Especially JustMellow, Blavkmaan, Frank robben etc
Finally, i did this entire process myself, from admission to PPR courtesy of this group. We have a treasure here guys, let's make maximum use of it and for those with PPR already, let's keep the thread alive by giving back to what made us.

Oh, for those still waiting, goodluck guys, it will go round. Don't underestimate your emails and webforms. It worked for me cos trust me, I bombarded them this past two weeks though none of it ever got acknowledged.

Please pardon all typos.
