Ehnn now somebody is saying something and being honest..thanks man.. Because I hear some people saying they get up to 40 even in practice and maintain scores between 35-40 when practicing and I'll be asking myself is it not the same Cambridge or YouTube materials I'm also practicing that is so tough especially the YouTube listening, its very difficult to score 35 without repeating the audio talk more of 38

It's not entirely true that it's very difficult. Just as @jacknn said, concentration is very key. If you loose focus for just two seconds, it will definitely hurt your score. I did mine once too and got LRSW 8.5,8,7.5,7.
Try www.ieltstestsonline.com, the site was of great help to me.

Good day great people. I'm quite sure my question must have been answered severally. Please, pardon me.

I need guidance on step by step process of moving to Canada.
1. I'm married with one kid age 3
2. I work in dubai as an Auditor and Cost Controller. My wife works in Nigeria as account manager.
3. Im currently practicing for ielts that'll be written in Oct.

Please, what do I do next?

If you want to do it right then there are no shortcuts, you have to read.

Start by simulating your score by entering your details here https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

First enter yourself as the principal applicant then also try your wife as the principal applicant, whoever has the higher score will be the principal applicant.

Then get your University results evaluated while you’re preparing for ielts because you need both your evaluated results and your ielts to enter the pool.

More details of the above and all the other information you will need can be found on the page 1 of this thread.

See forget practice score ooo, you cannot really recreate exam scenarios. Concentration is actually key, I don't think I have scored up to 36 in practice but I have gotten 8.5 in listening twice, 2017 and last month exam. Pay attention to the instructions so you don't miss out on word count then avoid distractions.

Thanks man...

Thanks a lot @Allegory. I tried the assessment for both of us with desired ielts score of 7.5 each. It seems we both fall within the range of 424.

Would that be enough to pull through?

424 is low. Try simulating with the highest possible ielts scores in each band, if its still 424, then you have to consider learning French, getting a higher degree or both.

Aim for the following:
L 8.5-9.0
R 8.0-9.0
W 7.5-9.0
S 7.5-9.0.
Use these scores to calculate your crs now and if your crs doesn't increase significantly, then you have to try other options to increase it

Hi all, did anyone use family business as proof of work experience?.

What documents did you use. I have seen CAC certificate and tax receipts. Any additions please.

Thank you.

Family business but applicant is an employee (e.g. head of sales or finance manager) - normal work ref letter as per IRCC checklist same as working for any other employer.

Family business but applicant is the owner and operator = self employed....read here:

Between you and your wife who is younger?

Do you or your wife have masters or PGD, Diploma? If you are checking your scores with only Bsc, it will certainly be Low.

Hello guys, please i need advise from experienced persons here, my international passport will be expiring by Nov 2022. I want to submit applications to schools for Sept 2022. Is it advisable I submit this soon to expire passport or do I have to renew it first before applying to schools? I just want to be on the safer side. will be awaiting your kind responses. Thanks

Sorry for derailing the thread
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by bekayy: 2:31pm On Sep 06, 2021
Still wait because you can renew when it is less than 6 months.

If your application is still in review by then, you can renew and resubmit.

All the very best.

For some people every CRS point counts......for some others 2 CRS points isn't worth the cost of IELTS.
For some people, they must get ITA at the very first FSW draw........for some others they don't mind waiting the 2nd, 3rd or 4th FSW draw.
For some people, they don't want to bother oga.....for some others he must donate his blood to the struggle.
Also depends on whether you'll be turning 30 at your next birthday ........if that comes before the next FSW draw.....losing CRS points

I doubt a spouse 6 in L will make your profile ineligible.....just my opinion...your spouse IELTS looks like it added 18 CRS points so I would be surprised that this would make your profile not eligible.

Your call really...check out the screenshots (from IRCC via page 1), calculate and decide.

don’t listen to such people again. With 494 there is no way your eligibility points is not above 70. Even if you are the principal applicant with 6666 and a masters and good age . The profile will be eligible. All these people who mislead people self kai

Does this mean you've not updated your spouse IELTS on your profile yet?
Update it quickly, you don't want to regret not being ready if a draw were to happen.
All the best!
