This is not about the war canoe houses and the question he asked.

Your line of defence is similar to Chief Jim Nwobodo declaring before the PDP delegates at the 1999 Jos Convention that he himself is also a Northerner and he gave his speech in Hausa Language.

So what question was he answering?

Did you also recognize the significance of the men wearing Igbo traditional hat, in that boat in readiness for the oat regatta competition?

[s]the same Ile Ife that didn't exist until Oduduwa deposed Obatala, whose grandson ( Oranmiyan) started the Oba dynasty in Bini. its like saying, Ife went into the past to give names to Igodomigodo insignias. ( I don't understand how the future gave names to the past )

There were 35 kings in Igodomigodo before the advent of Oranmiyan.
you keep on fabricating stories.
Ogiso dynasty predates Ile Ife and Oranmiyan ( the Oba confirmed it )

The Ada wasn't a farming tool or a War tool also, so the Opia conjunction doesn't hold here. They were symbols of AUTHORITY.

A quick search on Google confirmed the botanical name of Abere is 'Picralima nitida' also known as ' Osu ' in Edo and 'Nkpokiri' in Ibo. lol ( whats your definition of your distorted ' Abere '?) Mhen
Ishan calls leaves Evben or Ehbe ( whats leave in yoruba?)[/s]
What in the crap is the above mumble-jumble for Lord’s sake?? shocked

I understand it’s sometimes tough for a typical Bini to make use of their brain. So, I get what’s going on.

(1) Your dad (or whoever) said Ile-Ife didn’t exist until Oduduwa’s days — but as a 13 year old boy you fail to make use of brain to understand that Obatala who was one of the kings comes from a certain lineage of pre-Oduduwa kings of Ife. People like you make me almost weep for the future of Nigerian education.

(2) You must read with your eyes open and stop being foolish to yourself. I made it clear that your idea that Ogiso Ere (2nd Ogiso) introduced Ada & Eben insignias to Benin is not found in any classical Benin writing — except in recent times on Benin blogs & neighborhood Benin stories.

Moreover, according to the earliest native Bini writings—again Benin (NOT YORUBA) sources— Ogiso monarchy was introduced to Benin from Ife at the time of Oduduwa.

In other words, according to the classic Benin sources (NOT recent Benin blogs), Ogiso didn’t begin prior to Oduduwa.

(3) No one said “Ada” (as used by the Bini) is a farming tool. What I educated you on is that the word Ada has no meaning in Benin language.

Cutlass in Bini is Opia (or Ixo). Sword Bini is Betebete.
Ada is a Yoruba word, hence its usage w.r.t. monarchy of Benin in Benin.

I am shocked that you’re checking the botanical name of Abere (a state sword-like object). Can dumbness be worse than that? Go back to the point I made about Eben Abere and read again but this time with your eyes open.

Yoruba call it Abere till date. Binis used to call it Ebere. But the Binis now call it Eben. Why the change?

Use your brain. It’s possible even though you’re from Benin kingdom.

It is impossible that a deity of the slaves would be allowed to roam the village swallowing children

Why would the King Opubo Pepple refer to the Ibo sacred reptile as "his" fetish or juju?
You should ask the imbecil.e in what world slaves are allowed to have kings

Go to the market square and scream Opobo`s are Igbo and see if beating wont gum you.

Better still, You can also walk up to an Ikwerre settlement to tell them they are Igbo`s

Hope you have bought your burial space at Ikoyi vault.
Why would any sensible person go to the market and start screaming?

Please tell me the significance of the names of pre-Obatala kings so I can see the relevance of the names to the conversation before I expend my time.

PS: Ooni is a later title. Obatala is not an Ooni, despite being a King.

Eberen is not an Edoid word. It’s the older Bini name of leaf-like state word, and it comes from the Yoruba word Abere for the same object.

3. Many words were corrupted by the British. They corrupted Urhomoun to Uromi..
4. Many words are lost. I know of a guy whose grand father named in late 80s, till now baba still deh find the meaning.
5. I would advise to leave your Village and Visit Bini, I'll recommend Usen, Uselu and Ovia as places for you to,make research on. Also their Ohen is best place to start from.
