Life Of A Broke Yahoo Guy (Fictional ) by dodoatirice: 3:15pm On Sep 09, 2021 |
Forgive my typos and my diction and my paragraphing, obviously i skipped Essay classes!! At a point, i hit it big! Damn those years, i felt or always thought i could do anything or so it felt. When i was in college, i used to dream big. I always thought life revolved or evolved around getting good grades, graduating, getting a white collar job, settling down, having kids and buying or building a home, a car and simply living life. But the real world waited patiently for me that as soon as I graduated, and after idling for 3 years in my Moma’s house. And after thoroughly accessing the Nigerian situation, i picked my good guy manners up and flushed it down the toilet. 3 years idling at my moma’s house, i was merely existing, i ate Moma’s food, lived in my room (they left it just the way i left it when i left home for college. So after graduating, i could still use it). Mhen i suffered alot. there was no employment everywhere i went to drop off my resume. And everytime i did, I wouldn’t get a call back. Well yes, couple of interviews here and there but nobody wanted a dude. I was simply existing nothing else. I’d do the same old shit everyday and nothing seemed to change until back when, that sunny Saturday afternoon i met Ceeza and damn the story would change. Not that i knew it would as at then but it did. Ceeza was someone that you’d have judged before he even said a word because if his appearance. Hightop fade dreadlock, sleeve tatoos on both arms, everytime he came around, he always dresses like something out of a comic book. He liked graphical shirts that are simply oversized and all his jeans had crazy cuts. He was cool to the bitches in the hood but my mum didn’t like his appearance. But damn, dude was cashing out. He’d always say he prefers biking it around than driving around in a car if not he’d have bought a jeep. And when he sensed that people didn’t believe him, he went and bought a Lexus Rx 350 2010 just to shut the haters up. The Sunny afternoon, he came to my mum’s store in this ride and he asked me to hop in. I obliged and that was the start of something i never thought could be. 27 Likes 10 Shares |

Mum had a provision shop in the street where hour home sat, She sold household items and foodstuffs etc. Ceeza was Mooma’s customer. According to Ma, he moved into the area and started patronizing only her shop. He’d come around when he has money like mom Said and buy foodstuffs and he’d hang around till noon. So it was easy for me and Ceeza to relate when I moved back home finally. and most times he saw the struggle, for everyday i went for a job hunt, I’d return to mum’s store before i headed home, sometimes he’d be there when i head back and he’d shoot me a look of (atleast I didn’t really make much of that look then because i felt we had no business) but that look was a disapproving look, sure it was and at most I’d thought he’d have been thinking i was wasting my time. At other times when he came around to mum’s shop particularly with his group of friends, he’d be so loud and he’d be throwing subtle shades (at the time I didn’t make much of it) he’d say things like “instead make i go dey find office work, or make i go dey work for office, i go bomb for 30 days). As at then didn’t know he was directing it at me. Then Suddenly, we are in his car and he’s trlling me of how he heard what people said about him around town and how he’s bought that Lexus to make a statement, he’s telling me of how he’s been on the low for a long while because he doesn’t want to be caught out in the cold like the rest of his niggas who hit the bag before him and EFCC made a meal ticket out of them. In that car, we spoke about alot and the decision to start the hussle was bred in that car Ride. (Ceeza, if you get to read this, your boy is broke just like you said it will happen but like you thought me, the only way to give up, is to try again). Continues in a bit, make i smoke my Loud 16 Likes 3 Shares |

Still on that car ride, we drove from Ikotun and headed to the Ajah, we got to Ilaje on the island, and he throttled down to Abraham Adesanya Ajah Road 6a. We drove into the estate and i still didn’t know what Ceeza was up to, he asked me to get in lnto his car at my mum’s shop and so i did, I didn’t ask questions as to where we were headed or where he was taking us, i just couldn’t, he spoke all the way till we got to the island.. I couldn’t day a thing asides the twale boss and congrats i said after i got into the ride and the vexing Air condition in the car didn’t have any respect for me. I was shocked. This was a guy that people didn’t believe in even after he’d proved in the streets with the flashy lifestyle he lived. He’d always say, things like “I preordered the iphone 12 pro max” and he’d show you screenshots to back the claim. Then when he somehow sees you know what’s up and that he wasn’t playing then he’ll add his favorite line “no be sag i no get money for ride, i just like bike” and that was right before his car purchase. We got into Abraham adesanya estate, took a sharp turn at road 6a exactly and a massive gate came into view. I finally asked him whats up and what we were doing in front of this fine house and he asked me to follow his lead and that was it. Finally we drove in, right after the gate guy confirmed who we were and after he parked, we walked to the back of the house and we were faced with a door. Ceeza knocked and the door opened and we walked into the apartment. In my life i have never seen so many dudes with laptops and bitcheees, so as i have never walked into an apartment where the stench of Loud, Shisha and loud Music filled and rented the air respectively. It was a four bedroom duplex and the ground floor housed the Lounge, kitchen, dinning and the visitors toilet. Upstairs was where the rooms were if I can remember vividly. Downstairs, at the lounge, there in the wall was a Tv that costs nothing less than a million Nairaland. Infact everything in that apartment had a touch of class or I’d say expensiveness in it. From the Tv to the sound bar to the chairs and damned was it cold? Yes twenty four seven it was. But on that day, i understood what hussle kingdom was, in that setting, Ceeza mixed freely with everyone and yes they new he bough a ride because i heard things like “congrats my gee, welcome to the keys club” another guy said, “ guy no go do werey oo, we go drink die tonight” while all of that went on, my mind went on a search of its own.. i looked at how many guys lived in that comfort and 7 boys lived there and all had expensive laptops and phones. They wouldn’t or didn’t talk to me because I didn’t look like them. Bleep up wey dey be say, i wear native ankara go hussle kingdom where the smallest homie for there dey use mac book pro. 14 Likes 4 Shares |

Re: Life Of A Broke Yahoo Guy (Fictional ) by dodoatirice: 7:58pm On Sep 09, 2021 |
But then you need to see the way they all carried their bodies, i was in an apartment with niggas who were not only lousy but stopped at nothing and would at every now and then flash their expensive phones, or their mac book pro laptop. They spoke in terms I didn’t really understand. But i liked the vibe, take away the stench of loud and the loud music, everyone was up to something. And the ones that weren’t doing anything nicked it out on the snooker table that sat in the lounge. But then again, it wasn’t just these Niggas, i saw babes, the one I’d see on the gram and be like damn, i mean the ones I’d dm on instagram and they won’t even bother to reply because i followed more people than i had followers on my IG. But i was in this room with babes that I wouldn’t probably Bleep even in my dreams. Dang they had fine asses and bobbies, funny enough they didn’t even mind the guys in the house, yes there was plenty dudes in the apartment (hussle kingdom) but the babes seemed more engrossed in their phones because they had access to wifi in the apartment and damn, their phones were premium. I kid you not, my android phone kept ringing in my pocket, well i always put my phone in vibration but damned, at some when they finally turned of the music, my damned Tecno Spark would’nt stop vibrating. And i was seated on the sofa and this girl kept telling me my phone was ringing. But damn I couldn’t bring shit out. But my Tecno phone is a complete story on its own. Ceeza somehow remembered i had been sitting in the lounge for a while then he came downstairs after disappearing for a while and he apologized, asked me if I wanted anything, anything? I told him the only thing i wanted was for him to show me the way or show me the hussle, i told him i like the lifestyle, i told him i may not be used to certain things and i just want to make money and change a lot of things. He listened to my rants for a stretch of the time and when i stopped to catch my breath, he finally spoke up and said. No problem and said hussle no hard as ling as you sabi read write and you dey smart small. He said we’d talk more about it but that day he’d like to hangout with his niggas and celebrate his car and he’d even like if i tagged along and I’d get to see the lifestyle more. I told him I didn’t tell my peeps at home I won’t be coming home and I don’t even keep late nights. He looked at me and said if i wanted to husstle like i said, the first step was to buy my freedom from home. “In your comfort zone, you cannot be better he said” he stressed further, “my gee, you go need commot for your mama yansh, because this game wide gan, you go need dey street gan” then again he said “My guy, you go need commot for house, collect your office (laptops, phones) enter street, dey with Niggas, make Niggas do you anyhow, you go gain am back” he retorted so tonight, we go ball together. He said i had no choice and if i wanted him to show me the way, i had to oney his command that night and not worry about moma. I agreed, pointed out out to him that I couldn’t hangout that night in what i was wearing, then he said we was going to hit the stores for clothes and I shouldn’t worry. 13 Likes 3 Shares |

I sat in the lounge some more, my guy appeared again, he told me we needed to hit the store first for shipping, we got in the jeep, then hit the road after Ceeza told the other guys that he’d be stepping out for a bit with me. We drove for awhile til we found a boutique. We checked in and Ceeza asked me to pick things. He went about his buisness. But i was at-a loss. Damn, i was a complete Slob so to say. I didn’t know how to dress at all or I’d say i was more of a second hand cloth person even through my school years, even the clothes i wore to my interviews were second hand tshirts that my mum bought and repackaged by starching. Ceeza came back saw me puzzled, didn’t even say a thing, like he knew the situation with me and being lost.. before i knew heel was done selecting a white versace top, a blue jean with crazy cuts like the one he wears and a white nike sneaker that had a touch of black. Before I’d say jack and jill, Hundred thousand naira fiam. Then he showed me where i could change. I did and when i came out, my guy and my wouldbe Boss was grinning and when i got closer to him, he said “i no know say you fine like this” i looked agin in the mirror, physically i was me but in my mind, i thought i was wizkid. I looked again at the mirror, now i fitted in, it felt like i was given a syringe shot of confidence all of a sudden. At that point yes i was broke, but then again, i looked through the mirror, and i saw Ceeza looking at me smiling and when i glanced away from the mirror, and he still stood there looking at me and yes eith this nigga, i believe i could achieve anything. So i thought, will it be? Will i regret it? I was going to find out then so i did! 15 Likes 3 Shares |

We got in the car again, headed for Road 6a, when we got back home and yes you know, i looked entirely different from the guy that left with Ceeza the other time, we got back in again, well yes in the car Ceeza gave me his old iphone and asked me to drop the Tecno Spark in the car. He then told me I didn’t need to do much with his old phone, he said if we went in this time, he didn’t want me to look like a jew or a Johnny just come, he tild me to act composed like i was in the game, he told me to keep it tight because if not, they’d see me lesser and the fipa no go be here. I told him I understood. Well inside, I suddenly felt the gurls look at me with more attention than when i came in the other time. He said be composed, yes i was, well i still didn’t key in with the group gadget wise because i was using Ceeza’s old phone which was an iphone Xsmas but the whole crew used an iphone 11 pro, 11 pro max etc But it was way better than my Tecno phone. All the while, i completely forgot about home and Mom. 7:45pm, we teamed out, i was in Ceeza’s Lexus don’t forget, 2010, sweet ride, ac, chilling. But we were not alone, some girls came to the house too guess they ordered them. And in the back seat of Ceeza’s Jeep, we had four babes chilling in the back and using snapchat together on their phones simultaneously. What we’d do with this girls I didn’t know or I didn’t understand, but I wasn’t dumb.. if tonight was the night, I wouldn’t want to embarrass myself. At some point I thought I’d tell my dude that i was a virgin and if he had plans of pairing me with a babe like they discussed earlier in the house that I overheard “na all of us go carry babe for your neck tonight o” Ceeza and Ceeza’s reply was, “na lodge we go dey after every” but I wasn’t ready to be bleeped at all because I didn’t know how to hehe. But the team out was crazy, we set out for Shrine Ikeja, and we left with 4 cars and only Ceeza’s car was a Lex. The other guys drove out in Benzes. Two Cla 250 and a Glk Benz. Funny enough, i had seen these cars in the compound earlier but I thought it probably belonged to the other tenats that were rich but damned. Niggas were balling hard and those rides, that convoy, the babes and everything that tagged along with us from home to shrine was somethings i never thought I’d imagine. Or dreamed about. Afterall, i thought getting good grades, getting a good job and settling down was the way to go. But here was the life, i wanted it, i was ready to learn but was i ready for the price? Was i ready to pay the price? I didn’t know as at then, i just knew i was ready, I’d do anything to get Ceeza to give me the plug. After all like my Boss Ceeza always said, in this hussle, the only way to give up was to try again. It was a mere statement but I’d understand what he meant. Time was the teacher. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

But that night, i saw things, i tried things, i saw things that hardened my mind the more. Loud, Skushis, refnol, meth damn, name it. They bought things recklessly and in excess. We went from Shrine to the beach, we were on the road, touching places that night. Damn we hit the club and tryth be told, I wasn’t a party person but that night we hit the club and i was exposed to loud music and that at some point I thought would kill my eardrums. I was out of place, I didn’t like the noise, it was infact more than the noise levels i was used to. They passed drugs and loud skunk around at the shrine but I didn’t binge on any of those. Ceeza already told them i only drank but didn’t smoke or did drugs so i was saved from the binge even if occasionally some guy would tell me to try some loud. But I’d politely refuse and say i was cool with the henny in the cup. But i was in the club, and the babes we came with, a couple of them danced away and the guys were busy ordering caskets and causing a scene with the said drinks and the hypeman shouting Ceezza all the way. But I wouldn’t care less about the loud music even if it dealt me so many blows. My mind was focused on the things that happened that day, from earlier and to where we were at that point. Ceeza was balling away, the other guys surprisingly didn’t leave him to it alone, he balled, they balled, the hype man couldn’t hype other people, we attracted more babes to our table, i was like someone in the background, i had no money, i was posing with a borrowed phone, even though i looked a bit like them because of what i was wearing, i never really keyed in. I felt left out, i felt left behind, there was nothing i could do. It was like that for a while till we headed for the hotel. On that ride home, Ceeza, even though he was tipsy, he told me “guy, shey you know say as we dey chop drug for shrine i confrim sha” he went ahead and said, “my mayee don my N.O.K format (Next Of Kin Format) and na the second payment hin do so”. No worry, na Benzo be the next. I no get time again! So he said. 13 Likes 3 Shares |

The following week went by so fast, and again again, my mind kept traveling back to the events that happened in the weekend, yes i was bleeped that night, the next morning. We moved, Ceeza dropped me off and promised to see me the week after because he needed to fix somethings like he said. Surprisingly, mum never really queried my movement, she had seen him pick me up and she’d seen me leave with him. The only thing She said was, i should have picked her calls or left a message. Well to me that meant we i could hang out with Ceeza again but have to let her know my movements. For a week or thereabouts, I didn’t see my guy. Well i still had that fine Versace top and jean and that cool sneaker he bought for me. I washed the top carefully, cleaned the sneakers and decided i was gonna go to church in them. Chioma must know. Those were my thoughts. Then Sunday morning, Mum came to my room, told me Ceeza was outside asking to see me. Ceez what? I jumped out of bed, ran past my mum l, located the door that led to the outside and when i was outside, there was Ceeza and a white Glk benz with black rims. He said it and he did it. “Make we dey go my gee he said” earlier i had thought about how I’d hit the church the same day in the cool outfit he bout for me a week ago. But here was the devil and his benz in our our house. I dashed in, changed clothes well yes i jumped into what I planned to wear earlier and we zoomed off. We headed to his apartment, we got in and damn, in there, it was so fine. He generated his own power, had a big ass led Tv, lounge was cold asf!. Dude snapped me back to reality and told of how i’d have to be hang/living with him so I’d be able to learn the craft and implement it under his supervision. He told me i had no choice and its one of the requirements if i was serious and wanted to change the story. I wanted this right? I told him i was in and I’d know how to talk to my Mum about it. We spoke for a long stretch where he explained his hustle for me, told me of how he started bombing too, told me his up and coming story. And after all the long talk, he said I’d need a phone or a laptop. We accessed the situation, Dude provided me with a laptop, and i was stucked with my Tecno Spark. 11 Likes 5 Shares |

Days then ran into weeks then weeks into months, In between these periods, my mum at first didn’t like the idea of hanging with him. But i stopped coming home and She had no choice than to free me. Ceeza in the other hand, through his new found fame, the benz and everything (primarily, he gave out his Lexus to his Mum). We relocated from the mainland to the Island. Apparently, Dude was an OG and that ride came with lots of attention and it put Us both on the edge. But all that while, he had tutored me on the hussle, I hadn’t made a hit at all but i understood the process, Ceeza only used premium dating apps, he bought tools because he could afford it. He’d go on a dating site, put up a profile and pay the subscription and after that he’d bomb all the way. Most times, he’d do the same thing and ask me to bomb for him he said that way I’d learn too. His kind of hussle was stressing i got to understand this later, he’d create a profile kn a dating app or website, pay the subscription, finds a target, moves them off the dating app or site to a voip number (google voice or text now) then starts nursing them. But surprisingly, he didn’t nurse any client for long, they’d exchange messages for 3 days at most then before you knew it, the new catch was paying in dollars. I’d do the same thing atleast i can say he paid the subscriptions for me but I’d sit on my laptop for hours that graduates into days and weeks and i still wouldn’t have made shi shi. But these went on for a while, but then again, I thought Ceeza had the grace. and everytime i spoke or complained about doing the same thing he did and getting “nothing to wrote home results” he’d shrug it off and tell me to put more effort. No relent like he said. But the game is more than what meets the eye. That i was going to understand pretty much later. 14 Likes 3 Shares |

But then, i hanged with Ceeza alot. I wasn’t making anything, but I wasn’t lazy, well did i bomb? Yes i did. Why wouldn’t i?? Ceeza was a workaholic, he worked alot. So he made me do the same thing. Sleeping at night was a crime for him and he instilled that in me. If you slept in the day, he didn’t have issues but at night especially at midnight, he’d make you wish you never attempted sleep. I was a victim on several occasions because it wasn’t easy loosing that sleep. Ceeza would say, “all your life wey you don dey sleep for night dey come na hin make poverty dey una domot” If he found you sleeping instead of bombing chatting away on your laptop, sometimes, he’d bring his blunt closer to your nostrils and leave it there for a brief letting the smoke fill your lungs and before you knew it, you’d wake up choked and believe it or not that shit hurts. Or he’d slap the Bleep out of your life waking you up abruptly. Bro was a military man at midnight but a normal nigga in the day. I lost sleep yes of course and i found drugs too. Meth, Refnol, Loud, local strains like Loud and Sk, i got exposed to lots of drugged environment. To my old niggas, the nerds like me i had changed, maybe i did, the Ceeza mentality was, any chat that didn’t involved moneytalks was trash” my old friends remained what they were, i was changing, or i had changed. We texted slot on Facebook before but i stoped responding to them. Stopped picking their calls, stopped hanging out at our favorite joint and I wouldn’t want to even hang with them because, i wasn’t cashing out truth be told but i was fucking the coolest hoes that came around, my wardrobe and dress sense had upgraded (i started dressing more like my dude). I had more clothes than i could possibly wear because Ceeza was a real OG. My old friends had legit jobs that paid chicken Shit, my new friends had Benzes, the update and all the pussies you could ever want. My old friends were my first shenking in the game. I bombed and bombed and bombed alot, nothing. I had clients that i texted steadily, i built up all the trust like i was taught. I finally beat the sleep barrier and i stayed up all night but damn. nothing was working. I had bombed for nine months and at some point, i lost the clients i had because according to the inheritance format and when they saw my billing, they’d then be questioning things and they’d probably block me off or stop talking completely because no be say my scope no tight, for this game, if you no use juju somehow, Shiiiiiiiiiiiiipo your papa no go see!!!!! 16 Likes 3 Shares |
