Good evening everyone, please for those that have travelled and are in Canada, Must one be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before your planned date of travel to Canada? I plan to take the second dose of vaccine on Monday, should I wait after 14 days of taking it to arrive?

You would have to travel at least 14 days after your 2nd jab, that way, you are certify fully vaccinated, any number if days less, you would have to quarantine, and your quarantine plan would be required at POE.

Thank you very much

But the new LOA has dropped already. It came this afternoon

hoodboy:

I also had to do this as I had deferred, my school was understanding and agreed to reverse the deferral, though I had not yet been issued a new LOA sha

I got my deferral letter which I mailed and updated IRCC on Tuesday, after asking my school to cancel it on Friday morning, I have been issued another LOA, and readmitted into fall 2021-2022. I believe you can ask them to cancel, that is if you really want to resume this fall, though you did have to put several things into consideration like; when is the closest semester you can resume, January, May, or September? Are you fully vaccinated? If not ant plan to, you did need to be around for the next 6-8 weeks, also, does your school allow and has in place facilities for online learning among other things.

I wish you all the best in your decision.

My application in details-

Application Submitted - 09 April 2021 ( First time applicant)
Biometrics request - 10 April 2021
Biometrics done - 14 April 2021
NSE request - normal route
Upfront Medicals : 01 July 2021.
Medicals passed: 12 July 2021
Eligibility Started : 07 August 2021
PPR : 09 September 2021

Fanshawe College, deferred to January and awaiting my new LOA.

Documents submitted
All forms duly filled

Proof of financials-
Letter of funding
normal bank statement from my dad
Dad’s passport data page
Evaluation of landed properties and business goods

2 pages of LOE
employment letter
Bank statement of just the bank I receive salary from to show I am employed there.
Nysc certificate
Nysc posting and acceptance letter cause I continued with the firm after Nysc.
Transcripts
Waec certificate
Undergraduate certificate
Birth certificate
Travel history cause I did my bachelors degree in China.
Police certificate from Nigeria and China. (Police certificate from China took me like two months to get it. It was a whole lot of process and money. Cause I saw on the IRCC lagos consulate or embassy page that police certificate from country you lived in for more than 6 months is required. But maybe it wasn’t a requirement after all, I dunno. But I went through a lot to get it and finally submit it through web form).

My application was done in a rush to beat time cause when I applied, the IRCC website was saying 19 weeks for processing time. When I joined nairaland, I was seeing 8 weeks processing time so I got confused. After submitting my Police certificate via webform, people were advising not to wait to medical request, so I went to do mine. The wait was long. I nearly gave up… but August 7, on a Saturday morning I saw people were getting ghost updates on their profile. I went to check mine and I saw my eligibility had started. My hope and faith were restored. Another wait started… lol I was thinking after eligibility I’ll get feedback within a week or two but nah… it took a month! I sent webforms, emails, mailed some MPs too lol. Finally on Thursday no 9th of September it landed… all this while I was like when I get this PPR, I will dance ehn. Sometimes I practice the dance in front of the mirror but when it landed I was speechless.. I couldn’t even do my dance lol. I’m still grateful to God Almighty.

That's some news.....glad you mailed them and they agreed to reprocess you admission into fall, 2021.

I am hopeful that you will receive the new letter in the coming week.

Congratulations to you.

Hello guys, I am a May 14th applicant still expecting My PPR. In June and July I ordered for my GCMS note. My eligibility review started on June 1 or 2 (can't remember exactly) Two that came in July Eligibility was Review Required. Yesterday the last one came in as Recommend Interview. Meanwhile, preassessment note is blank. And all three notes came in without any seemingly reasonable information. Bikonu, is this a good sign? Any one had that experience? What should I expect?

Help a worried May 14th applicant!

So here's the details:

DLI: Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec.
Programme: MSc. Actuarial Mathematics
Programme duration: 2 years
Admission: April 26th
Application submitted: May 14th
Biometrics request: May 15th
Upfront medicals: June 3rd
Biometrics done: June 4th
Medicals passed: June 11th
BVL: September 9th
PPR: September 9th

Documents submitted (in no particular order):

1) The 3 IRCC application forms for TRV, Study permit outside Canada and Family Information.
2) BSc. (Maths) Certificate and Unofficial Transcript
3) Advanced Diploma certificate in Business Administration and transcript (Obtained in 2019 in search of how to increase points for Express Entry)
4) SOP of 2 pages
5) Marriage Certificate
6) My birth certificate and Child's birth certificate showing names of mother and father from NPC.
7) Pictures showing registry wedding in 2020, family picture during child's dedication and pictures taken on my child's birthday to "emotionally" demonstrate happy moments for home ties.
8 ) 3 different land documents (deed of assignment) all in my name with only one having survey plan. This is to address economic ties and assets.
9) Current job offer letter, 3 months pay slips, salary increment letter, work ID card, introduction letter from my employer and study leave letter stating I'm eligible to apply for study leave upon getting my study permit approved.
10) Screenshot evidence of applying for CAQ. The CAQ Approval Letter came later and I sent via webform and emails.
11) My passport data page (Virgin passport...lol)
12) Admission letter (LOA) with full funding that covers cost of entire study in excess of $56k CAD
13) 2 MBS from Stanbic IBTC Bank. One for salary account (Bal N170k) and savings account (Bal N600k) with very good cash inflows and outflows.
14) IELTS General TRF to expire in November
15) Police Character certificate
16) Resumé which should address study gaps.

The story:
I started this Canada waka since 2017 targeting PR in Express Entry Category. In the quest to get the target score to max language points for EE, I wrote IELTS 3 times. I missed a particular EE bi-weekly draws by 3 points...very painful I must say. My profile in the EE pool eventually expired and I wrote the 4th IELTS which luckily I now used to satisfy NSE requirements (although that NSE thing na scam).

I applied to 3 different schools, U of Ottawa, Simon Fraser and Concordia. Ottawa admitted me without funding but Concordia came late to the rescue with better funding. My first degree was in Mathematics (CGPA 4.36/5.00) and it aligned with my proposed study in Actuarial Mathematics. Did I mention that I graduated in 2010? What a huge study gap! I was so worried about this but the advanced diploma I did in 2019 belled the cat. I graciously stated that in my SOP that the diploma is recent and although I have been away from classroom for long, I came out with distinction in the diploma (CGPA 4.09/5.00).

I was not sure if the deed of assignment documents for the lands in my name made any difference but I added them because of what I read from others here. I believe this, the family pictures with wife and child staying back in Nigeria, proof of employment and letters from employer emphasized strong home and economic ties.

At some point, I read about a denial for a fully funded applicant and my heart sank for a moment. I did not submit any extra funding letters from my supervisors. I assumed all the details they need are there on the admission letter. However, I carefully mentioned the funding part in my SOP and included email address of my supervisor (hoping any clarification they might need about the funding should be directed to him...I dont need any additional documents request abeg...lol). My admission letter was a conditional offer (the condition was the official transcript I am yet to send) and it gave me concerns when people here were emphasizing unconditional offer letters.

I almost lost my mind frequently checking for updates on my application. I was even begging God for a ghost update to be sure my application has not been abandoned and gathering "online dust" already. I never saw any. My eligibility and background check started 2 days after biometrics was done. After medicals was updated to passed on June 11th, all I got was a long silence until today that the eagle landed. BVL and PPR mails dropped 3 minutes apart around 6.23am. Currently, I have deferred my admission to Winter 2022 starting in January but yet to get a new/revised LOA.

In summary, everything was a miracle from God. Irrespective of my sinful nature, the Almighty God decided to show me mercy and grace prevailed. I really can't capture all the details but these are the highlights.

Finally, God answered my calls and granted me amnesty!!! All Glory and honour be to Him alone. Thank you to all the people contributing positively on this thread. This Nairaland is a goldmine. Special thanks to the brain behind this forum @seun and all the moderators.

To all of you expecting the miracle, receive it in Jesus' name. Amen.
Please I got admission to the same school for Jan 2022 I am in urgent need for help on how to go about my visa application. I sent you a private message

You can travel the next day after vaccination actually. However, if you don't wait till at least 14 days after the second dose, you'll not be considered to be fully vaccinated and as such, you must quarantine for 14days and do all the things the unvaccinated do.

If you can wait 14 days after vaccination, kindly wait. It even saves you some money on flight tickets because the farther date you book for flight, the cheaper your fee.

If you had done your medicala prior to now, you'll be waiting for decision and not medical request.

Please do it ASAP.

Ask if you can start the classes online and show them you got a medical request already which is a sign that your PPR is on the way.

People have been shouting "do upfront medicals" on this thread.

Google Qlife and IOM if you are in Lagos and schedule an appointment.

If you are in Abuja or prefer to go to Abuja, Google IOM Abuja and schedule an appointment there. You can call the IOM Abuja number, it usually goes through unlike Lagos.

Best advice won't be possible until the notes arrival.

Despite that,I think your POF needs repackaging. I'm certain that one of the refusal reasons would have been fund related. A 15m in a third party sponsor's account without any financial commitment, sometimes won't fly.

Immediate family sponsorship is easier, infact it's considered the best, Ioan can be sourced from anywhere and I'll advise it should go into your tuition payment while the living expenses is paid into your account. It's a good thing that dad and mum are gainfully employed, any other form of income source; business ,investments or properties will make it more beautiful.

But like I earlier said, the gcms note will be our map.
