I used a Royal Exchange Investment Account and was issued a visa. Please ensure the funds are freely accessible (not locked up like a foxed deposit) and that the letter from the financial institution states so.

Greenocean :
Please has anyone used an investment account for POF? What was the outcome

I am still in Nigeria because they omitted my son's passport/visa when our own came out. So my wife had to leave with other two to resume school.
Yes, I was advised it is better to apply with the whole family or the student alone first. However, we have stories of people who didn't apply with spouse and still got visa. You need the father to sign a consent form that you can travel with your daughter.

All the best.

Thank you.

This Prodigy Finance is fond of giving 17000 dollars and asking you to bring the remaining Pof before they can finally approve your loan. They gave me that amount for Cranfield University. I have to reject them. They are sponsoring universities with very high tuition and that's bad. Why can't they support schools with tuition like 14000 pounds. They are not helpful.

To be candid, within the duty of care, its very unlikely that they would approve the visa of a dependent child if only one of the parent is travelling. (Unless there's a legal document that's granting them sole responsibility in this regard and they are not in any marital union with the other parent f the child.)

For example - in case this is not clear to some people. If two people are married and only one parent has the intention of applying and travelling with their child on a student dependent visa, its more than the case that the parent will be grated the visa but the child would be rejected.

You definitely catch my drift. Thanks for lending your voice to the discussion.

Kindly juxtapose more on this pls. Thank you

Buy dollar in the black market and fund your account. I used it to pay for visa application and ihs.

Thank you for your candid information.
Quite insightful and helpful.
Pls is the conversion from naira to dollars better than aboki rate? Thank you.
Patnuel2015:
Ok this is how the africard work.
There is one for naira Africard naira
And the one for dollars africard dollar.
It's a prepaid card, when you go to Uba. You fill a form and the card is given to you instantly.
You can find the naira version of it with naira in the bank. You will be able to use it to pay for any transaction worldwide. But the limit for the year is 10,000 dollars, when you make payments like visa or IHS, the card will do the conversation itself and send the money.

Good evening all
I have a question. My Wife will be flying with airmaroc on Monday 6am. Ordinarily she is supposed to be in the airport 3 or 4 hrs earlier that’s by 2 or 3am. That’s too early Do u advise that we go in the night arround 11pm and hang on there or look for a hotel in ikeja and rush there by 4am? Do you think that we can get a cab that early? By 4am and still meet with boarding ?

Get an hotel along airport road which is way closer to the airport than Ikeja. If you have a car or relatives that can help you guys out, the better for ease of movement at that time.

There's no format for anything.
Ask your estate agent to prepare a bill in your name, the product/service you're paying for, the amount is cost and maybe for what duration. Just the way you would expect an invoice to look like with their account details (IBAN and those kind of stuffs).
Out of interest, is accommodation payment part of what is covered by cbn to use forex for? i thought its mainly school fees and medicals??

For your question, yes.

Form A payment with Access bank was less than 24hrs.

Tip : have an existing relationship with your bank branch.

Can we get an Uber by 3 am? If we find a hotel at airport road. Someone told me that cars don’t move in Lagos from 12 midnight till 4 am

Aikayval:

Generally the further you move away from capital city the cheaper, cities 1-2hrs away from London are usually expensive because some people work in London, earn London rate but live outside London, they put pressure on housing and other social facilities in those cities, ready to pay more than those working locally and earning less.

Getting to the airport 2 hours to departure may be a bit late depending on the airline. Some close their check in desk as early as 2 hours before departure. Its better to be too early than missing your flight.

Most hotels in Ikeja have Taxis to take you to the airport (at a fee).
