Lianna2020:
Things I did that may have been different , not sure if it had any impact .

I submitted app august 4, immediately requested for gcms note even tho I knew them no touch my app. I knew it would take time to come either ways.

When I read from one of us saying she sends mail weekly to Nairobi. I had to put on my writing skills.
At first I didn’t know where my file was so I sent an emotional email to all ircc office in the world (lol).
Cairo replied that they checked their database and my file is with Nairobi . Then I limited my email to Nairobi.

I send four emails daily to Nairobi ,they don’t kuku reply aside automated response and I didn’t care, I continued.

At first my husband’s Medicals updated to pass august 31, then my sons Medicals updated to pass September 11.

Still I woke up every morning to send email as if It was my breakfast. September 15, bvl dropped for my husband, na so I sidon Dey refresh my app but nothing dropped after.

Omg village people don get me o, I lamented. Next thing, I emailed my mp with a strong emotional mail and she replied that my passport letter is being processed . I was so happy yet I didn’t stop sending emails on a daily .

I also requested for written authorization for my family.
I only applied just to speed things up in my own knowledge (lol).

20th of September , woke up by 9:30am to send my usual email but this time made it five because I mean they owe me a decision now.

When I was done, casually decided to refresh my app as I don already login n boom profile updated n it was PPR for hubby , I went to baby’s app and same PPR . My omg was omored.

I forgot to add that I prayed like my life depended on ircc especially midnight prayers, I even gave God a deadline of early September and surprisingly it worked grin
Thanks to my nairaland family, I learnt so much on this journey and I won’t trade the friends I made from here for anything.

I wish everyone God’s speed on their application.

It will end in praise for everyone still holding on .

I uploaded mine on the 15th of September 2021, eligibility review started on the 30th. Eligibility review does not have anything to do with this updating your LOA. I only used that sentence to buttress a point I was trying to make that whether one upload or not, it does not affect the timeline for review negatively. ( the person was asking if uploading it will not delay the processing)

Nb- your application can be under active review even without seeing that update on your profile. People have received PPR even while their eligibility review was yet to start. I hope you understand what I am trying to say?

jollytravels:
@viviangogos...please can you share with me the date you uploaded the new LOA and the numbers of days afterwards when you noticed that your review of eligibility has started, Because I just uploaded my new LOA too and my review of eligibility is yet to start too. Thank you
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by jollytravels: 4:59pm On Oct 02, 2021
@viviangogos...yes you are absolutely right because on this platform have seen someone eligibility starting same day he got PPR and BVL. So one cannot be too sure . Hmmm...cos my medical was passed since on September 8, though is upfront medical and background checks is over a month now...we keep our fingers crossed... please when did you submit?

We've gotten through to her she's in Toronto. Left from Lagos yesterday. Thank you so much.
jollytravels:
@fortune foreever I WILL ADVISE THAT IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE IN TORONTO THEY CAN VERIFY FROM THE AIRLINE WHEN THE Ehiopian airline that she followed landed? and from where did she board from is it Lagos- toronto or Abuja Toronto. I know someone that just left now through same Ethiopian to Toronto but is this afternoon landing 2morrow.

Hello Keet

Why cant you go alone first, use your Wife and 3 months baby as strong home ties... Then when you get to Canada, you can apply for a Spousal Permit with your Study permit, SIN and other documents for your Wife to come over and a visiting permit for your Baby to come over..

Apply to a school or schools for a PGD degree or Masters, when you get LOA then you can apply for your Visa and when you get your PPR, you can follow my suggestion above.. Also apart from the funds required for your stay all though your study in Canada, also make sure you have funds that will be very sustainable for your Wife and baby you will be leaving behind..

Most married applicants here go through this route and everything worked out well for them......

Peace
Keet18:

Thanks so much Makano
I'm indeed grateful

The goal is to go with her cause we have a 3 months baby

Or should I apply to a school for postgraduate certificate for myself

Thank you so much for your inputs….@Makano, thank you for responding to my emails, I have sent you my 3 gcms notes awaiting the third one.

My second and third refusal reasons are the same so I think this third refusal is baseless. Can I reapply with my old imm1294 form without revalidating it? All my information remains the same.

I am having a strong feeling that if I reapply immediately I will get my approval. I have started classes since the 7th of September.

Hello Sweetness

This shows progress and probably a good sign, IRCC asking for an updated LOA shows a final decision is close by... They have checked if the LOA you submitted with your application is still valid, and they saw it isn't valid again, reason for the updated LOA..

IRCC asking for an Updated LOA is not totally an approval, cos I know applcants who got a request for an Updated LOA and still got refused despite submitting it..

But if you were sent a Medical request by IRCC coupled with this request of and Updated LOA , then your application is on the route of an approval...

A final decision is close by, get ready..

Peace

Hello gurus in the house, please I need in a state of making a big decision and I need help please.

I finished with HND( upper credit) in Engineering from a nigeria polytechnic but I’ll be rounding up my Bachelors from a university by next year September,

So I was thinking if I should just start applying for PGD in Canada with my HND qualification as against next year September intake in Canada.
Please should I start applying with my HND or I should just wait till I get my bachelors degree next year and go for masters program straight.

Please I need hands on this .thanks

I started foundation first(July 5) . In ucw , people with no background in business starts with foundation. You can wave it but I refused to because I needed it as a means to travel that July instead of waiting till October before applying.

After my journey and all, I learnt that I could have applied for them with my visa alone and a good letter of explanation.
But all is well as it still ended well.

Lianna
I really need your input
My wife just got admission at UCW for MBA
No business background
We have a 2 months old baby
How can we apply together

Hello Activated

This decision is totally on you..

Using your HND certificate now to apply for a PGD for next year Fall.. With this you can get your Visa approved before then and probably leave Nigeria before September next year to resume your Post graduate studies in canada..

You can as well be patient enough till next September when you get your Bsc and apply for your Masters degree...

Either ways, you are good to go... So the decision is totally on you to make...

Peace

A little background story/update

My study visa got approved in June. I resumed classes for fall in August. Since classes were being held virtually, I decided to stay back and apply for visas for my family here.
My husband applied for a visitors visa. He wrote a very compelling SOP mentioning how he was only going to be visiting his family in Canada as he wasn't ready to quit his job yet. We thought the VO would be impressed.
We applied for study visas for our 3 kids aged 11,9 and 7. Two of these kids hold a US passport but we thought including their application with the Nigerian kid would impress VO
Application was submitted on 11th July.
On 28th September, application was refused on the grounds of purpose of visit and home ties.

I have ordered GCMS notes and I am travelling before the end of the month with my two US citizen kids. As soon as I land and get my permit and SIN, SOWP straight for my husband and student visa for my other child who would be left here!
