Ahh ah everyone needs mentoring.. by the way @aphrodite007 please do u have any suggestions on how to ace those hire vue based interviews…i detest them

I realised i am usually more tensed than in face to face interviews.
I heard some people actually prefer it …smh

I have one coming up on Monday, i have thinking so hard hehehe @Aphrodite007

You just have to be natural, smile, have a positive attitude and be engaging.

Try recording yourself first on your own, before you do the real interview- it will help you see how you come off to the Hiring Manager when they watch it later.

Good day all.

Please can you continue to live in Uk even when your visa has expired?

Or will one be deported?

Hello all.

My wife and i are planning to come to the UK next year September.

She's coming for study while i work.

Speaking about work, I run a business here in nigeria in the Digital marketing space.

It won’t affect you if you continue your online business, the repercussion may be taxes.

You can look through indeed.co.uk for marketing jobs here, while you start an online business for yourself here.

I hope your wife gets a job in her field after her degree- most friends of mine that did biomed left the country after school. But she may have the luck she needs to practice. Make sure she registers to be able to practice here- I heard the masters doesn’t auto grant her her “licence to practice”.

1. Yes you can but you shouldn’t.
2. If/when you get caught, you’ll be deported.

Thanks for the reply.

I sincerely appreciate it. I have checked through indeed and i was able to see several job offers there which i know i can confidently apply for.

Speaking about my wife and license to practice.

You mean right after she's through, getting a job with such degree cant land her a job even in the health lab or nhs...

Didnt know about this

Is there a way one can know what type of certification one needs to have to practice aside her masters program she would be doing so that while she's on her study, she can be getting that done. She already has 2 degrees here, ND Lab science [Distinction], B.SC microbiology [ Second Class Upper] and currently undergoing a certification training as a public analyst [Lab]

Though we still plan to move to canada for either phd or work after her masters and one year of work after study.

Would appreciate and advise on this.

Thanks as always.

If you're planning to leave Nigeria, then tell her not to waste time or money on any prog.

Canada's own worse pass UK undecided she will have to start all over again in canada. Top up degree or a 2year diploma, with a pass mark in Biomedical certification exam.

She cannot practice as a biomedical scientist in uk with a MSc Biomedical Science.

For certifications, she may be able to combine it with her studies, prices range from £2500 - £4000 depending on what she wants to go for.

Undergraduate students are not allowed to have dependants.

How credible is this pls? So I can't have my wife as dependant if I apply for Bsc program in UK, due to career switch? I MUST apply for masters program/phD before I can be considered for tier 4 visa?

All international students - Undergrad, Masters, PhD (there may be some exceptions depending on your Passport) apply via the Student Route previously known as Tier 4 Visa. So, you will still be considered as a Tier 4 student if you are applying for an Undergraduate degree BUT you are not allowed to come to the UK with dependants.

https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/family-members

Also, there may be age restrictions for some undergrad degrees. You should check your uni webpage and Google for more info.

In addition, you don't need an undergraduate degree for a career switch. There are lots of certifications out there.

If I can't come with dependent, then tier 4 seems useless, because that the reason for it in d first place. Any other way around this?

I have had correspondence with schools I intend applying to, asked them if they can get tier 4 visa recommendation on CAS, response was positive... It's BSc Nursing program, no age restriction.

So she can't go directly for her PhD to Canada after completing the masters and she won't also be able to work in UK with the degree.

Does that mean the degree is not useful or worth it.

Speaking of certificate. Do you know some of the certification program available so that I can check them out.

The price range of the certification is not an issue.

Thanks.

She can go for her PhD in canada.

I thought you were talking of job opportunities and not further study.

She can do her PhD in uk after MSc but she cannot practice as a BMS.

Also with just a MSc in BMS in UK, she cannot practice as a BMS in canada.

I really want to support my wife in her career hence why am asking all these question.

We considered going for PR in Canada but with the delay in processing. That led us to want to move via the study route and since she wants us to move together, we couldn't apply for Canada study.

According to what I heard. Canada doesn't always give dependent visa as she would need to first move leaving myself and our baby which she's not ready to go alone as we have heard of some family getting stuck.

Your advise is greatly needed in ensuring we have a plan if coming to the UK is what we would be processing come January.

I mentioned both study and work option for Canada in my earlier post.

If she can go to Canada for PhD. Then it still a good plan for the course which she can start working on her certifications after her masters

I think you're talking of job opportunities and not further study. She can as well do her PhD in uk after MSc bug she cannot practice as a BMS. Send me a PM.

Good people….
Someone told me they pay £20 per year for Road Tax (on a 2nd hand car). Meanwhile mine is like £300 annually.
Are there truly cars with such low road taxes?
Please help

Road tax is free thanks to the Model 3's lack of emissions, while company-car users will also benefit from a 0% Benefit-in-Kind rate in 2020/21. The Model 3 is also exempt from the London Congestion Charge and London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge.

You should have added that the OP would need to pass an affordability interview, so he'd need to have a job paying some reasonable income before trying for a mobile phone contract.

Going in person is indeed the best way to get credit, that's how I got one too. Just show up, speak to a representative, show them you can afford the phone contract, and they'll clear it with their manager and you're done. Don't waste time applying online for the algorithm to use you and shine. I do think 3 months is a bit too early to make a try, though.

Same thing applies to when you might want to take out a credit card - I prefer to avoid the so-called credit builder cards with lousy APRs and limits and no perks, and so I simply showed up at my bank into which my salaries are paid and spoke to an advisor.

With the credit card, I found one of the best ways was to use the eligibility calculator on Monsey Saving Expert. It will tell you your chances of getting a CC and from where. You can then go direct. More importantly for those who already have good credit, you can get interest free credit cards for upto 12 months or more, money transfer credit cards (for a small fee) for upto 12 months or more and use these like interest free loans. You have to be very very strict on cutting up the cards especially balance transfer and money transfer cards. I always used the money transfer ones for visa runs in those days - transfer the money into my account, apply for visas, pay for my tickets then take 12 months to pay it back. I used it to buy a car 2 years ago as well. Because I was negotiating with cash, I could really push on the price with the car dealership.
