You do not need a separate appointment for a MINOR. On the day of your own appointment, go with your daughter's application forms and documents. You would submit yours and hers together. This way, you won't also need pay verification fee for her own application because your verification fee will cover hers

If you haven't added your family details to the DAAD portal then you should start with that. Then write to the DAAD contact person stating your intention.
My spouse is a DAAD scholar. He got a letter of invitation for me from DAAD. I called the Embassy and explained my situation, I was asked to apply for visa appointment then send my reference number and the Invitation Letter from DAAD via email. I got an appointment date within a week. You should get passports for your kids if you haven't.
You also need to have to more than a thousand euros in your account for when you get contacted by the auslander office.

For those applying for family reunion and your spouse has the statutory health insurance in Germany, you can already ask him/her to add you [and your child(ren)] as "non-contributory dependant(s)" on his/her insurance at no extra cost. With this, when the embassy requests for your passport(s) and travel insurance(s), you do not need to spend any money getting travel insurance(s) from maybe AXA Mansard. All that is needed is to ask your spouse to call the insurance provider to issue a certificate/letter that you are insured. This should then be submitted alongside your passport(s).

Though the travel insurance in Nigeria might not cost much but I just thought I should share. It's not bad saving that money and adding it to your plane ticket money

It takes 3-4 weeks after your lawyer has submitted his report, for the consulate to send u an email dat ur identity has bin verify.

Now in the case of the foreign office, it does not have a specific time. Foreign office contacted my spouse 2 days after my lawyer visited dats like 4 weeks before I got the email dat my identity has bin verified. In some cases the foreign office invites their spouse aft the have gotten the email dat their identity has bin verified.

Congrats!!! Just resend a copy of your travel insurance and dates as a reply to the email. When was your interview? If I may ask?
Maybe the dates on your travel insurance needs to start at a different date from the previous one submitted at the interview.
