I love that it's only on this thread that Osimhen isn't getting the praises he so obviously merits. Boy is being talked about as being up there with some of the world's best in almost every football forum out there and by most pundits, but trust some Nigerians to downplay the abilities of one of their own under the guise of objectivity. grin

Saying that Osimhen is not better than Haarland is downplaying his abilities?

Osimhen goal vs Legia Warsaw...

https://streamja.com/4WkMV
The way Osihmen was moving shows that he knew within him that Insigne will release that pass. Therefore facing the post will give him an advantage. Great thinking

Nonsense..
how does scoring against obscure teams like legia warsaw make him one of the world's best?..
Even someone like like immobile who has being scoring loads at SeriaA for several years isn't even called amongst the world best...
You guys really need a huge dose of reality

How else can we talk about it, abi make we kill ourselves for Osihmen? This thread hypes Osihmen to high heavens, calls him monster machine, expresses optimism that he will score 30+ goal a season, how else is Osihmen not been talked about here.

Has anyone downplay osimhen here ?

Or maybe you see the Haaland argument as downplaying

Na Haaland we talk say better pass osimhen ooo,no be Jonathan David or Patrick bamford

Wait make komekn come back you go see the real definition of downplaying grin

When reading anything about osimhen I ignore comments from Nigerians ,I must say I have been impressed from what Europeans and mostly Napoli fans are saying about him

Osimehn is beating Rashidi Yekini record and is coming soon.
At this rate he will definitely surpass Rashidi's record and indeed it is high time that record is outstripped by another person and no other person seems ready to do that apart from Osibaba

It’s only in Africa that scoring goals is hard

So nobody could break Yekini records of 37 goals for more than 20 years grin

Osimhen is a very good player no doubt despite his glaring weaknesses

Not long ago, we were comparing him with Tammy Abraham and this generated lots of controversies smiley

Well, its still too early to judge

Osihmen and Daka may be the next Drogba and Samuel eto of African football.
Hope u understand that eto is arguably the african greatest footballer of all time,
This is not what u achieve playing for leicester ,or even at napoli .
it will take a long time to reach eto's or drogba's status .
They need to perform at d highest level consistently 4 some few seasons before we can conclude they r next eto or drogba.

Let's pray they enjoy injury free career ,especially Osimhen ,so he can fulfil his potential n attain such status.

Lack of consistency, motivation has been the issue. The likes of aghawonder once had a 12 in 19 goals for super eagles. After 4 years at the top, he exited in obscurity

Five Afcon appearances super regular no goal even Segun Odegbami record still stand as a winger with highest goal revord and retired 1981..Stephen Keshi still stand as defender with highest goal record and he retired 1994 and funny enough some eagles strikers couldn't beat the duo record.

My man I like going into archive to dig out facts.

Funny Osimehn stilk have to beat Odegbami 22 goals before Yekini 37 goals...he need one more goal to beat Keshi 9 goals.

But am seeing him achieving that record of Yekini.

I always wonder y,

in other countries,u would c several strikers scoring over 50 goals,
But in nigeria ,our greatest players like kanu and okocha don't have up to 20 goals each to their credits.

Yeah a great player but his record with Super eagles wasn't good enough....more reasons I will always pick Samson Siasia or Daniel Amokachie ahead of him to pair Yekini in my all time eagles starting eleven.

Imagine Segun Odegbami a winger with just 7 years with eagles and 47 apoearances had 22 goals..this man retired in 1981...40 years ago and still hold the record as the second highest goal scorer.
