The Bible teaches in Proverbs 22.6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
But we are know kids that have departed from the ways and teaches of heir parents.
What are your thoughts?

Who told you that those kids were taught right

Besides all prodigal sons do eventually come back home

The question you should ask is "are the kids being taught right or at all?"

I see many irresponsible people becoming parents and expecting a miracle.

So your point is every child taught well must end up right?

Fact is we don't live by absolutes. That recommendation is not a guarantee that children will always behave the way their parents taught them, especially now they have far more influences than just their parents teachings.

So you are saying that every child taught the right must end up being good?

So that verse isn't absolutely correct?

If you mean a guarantee, no it isn't. It's more a statement of general principle.

So the bible should never be taken as an absolute but a probability?

I think the Bible should be taken as a repository of folklore which serves to impart folk wisdom. These are always going to be generalised bits of wisdom which are never absolutes even if they sound like it.

The training must be according to the way God set not how the parent feel:

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Any CHILD trained under this condition will certainly keep it even when bad association comes along he will be the one to influence them and not the other way around! Isaiah 54:17 smiley

Then you are saying that Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, moses, David, Samuel and all the prophets did not train their children according to thensure way of God? How come the children of Israel continued to fall into transgression despite such holy fathers?

What is "The way" the author advices the child be trained in? undecided

The way refers to the Old Covenant Law of Moses which God commanded that all of Israel raise even even children to obeying. That is the way children were meant to be raised in as commanded by God. Parents, neighbors, and everyone in Israel was set as teachers to teach that Way to all in Israel, just as God commanded of them. undecided

This is reason why Eli was punished for the sins of his sons is likely because he didn't train his kids in The way. undecided

For us, Jesus Christ is the way and we are tasked with preaching His teachings and commandments to all those in the world including children after each once saved, God takes over as Teacher to all those who belong in His Kingdom. undecided

Therefore 2 things
1) The parents did not train or
2) The child refused to be trained.

Thus, the Bible's instruction is based on the reasonable forecast that if you train a child to be a tailor, lawyer, doctor, it is foreseeable that they shall become so.

See fraud of over stretching. From one verse to "many verses".

So as one man is a thief many men are therefore thieves. Una can be very unjust!

How about Abraham, Moses, David, Joseph, Jacob, Samuel, Mary where they all bad parents?

It's only makes sense that if you can't trust one verse, you become suspicious of other verses. I don't need to lie to you every time before you begin to trust me less

We were not given the whole report of their children training program.

But Samuel and David definitely cleared their names from liability when their cases came up in Court.

The world has evolved
but some parents didn't
accept change
follow change and that verse isn't wrong
it's parents of these days that's wrong

By that reason since one man somewhere had stolen, it is time to be suspicious of every man of being a thief.

It's all right, it is how you choose to live your life. I prefer The Just Law which says "In the absence of bad faith, good faith must be presumed"

And this is clearly bad faith enquiry as I have seen you undertake.
