Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has commenced the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for cancelling the sit-at-home earlier scheduled to take effect from tomorrow, November 5 to November 10, 2021.

DAILY POST reports that the IPOB had in a statement on Thursday by its spokesman, Comrade Emma Powerful, announced that the one-week sit-at-home was cancelled following interventions from eminent religious and traditional leaders from the South-East.

It also urged Anambra voters to go all out on Saturday and cast their ballot.

Reacting, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, hailed the IPOB for once again heeding the voice of reason.

In a statement signed by the President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, he said the development was in the best interest of the entire Igboland.

“We are delighted over the cheering news that the IPOB has cancelled the one-week sit-at-home, which we earlier said would be of great consequence on the entire Igboland.

“It is a thing of joy that the IPOB has finally looked at the larger picture by cancelling this action. Although it came, it is still better than never.

“We commend the Uchenna Madu-led Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, for standing firm over the Saturday’s Anambra Governorship election.

“At this point, we re-echo our appeal to our people to go out en-mass and cast their ballot for their preferred candidate in the Anambra guber election,” Okwu said.

Those people love Igbos too much that their shame are gone and their daily occupation is unity begging.

This is what happen when people think with their fist and not their brain. It leads to decision taken in a hurry that needs to be reconsidered always.

History always repeat itself and I hope these IPOB can learn from this and do their due diligence better anytime they are trying to make decisions.

You did the same mistake in 2019 election, and yet still did the same for this Anambra election. I’m 100% sure they will still tell their people not to vote in 2023 and retract on the eve of that election too.

Ohaneze and igbo politicians never knew how powerful the IPOB was until they started shutting down the entire region. Without mincing words, no group in Nigeria commands that clout so nobody saw that coming. The next challenge before security operatives will be to deal with hoodlums who would want to hijack the Anambra elections. They shouldn't be pitied at all.

The IPOB understands what's at stack in Anambra and knows when logic has to come in. The struggle should continue with the right governor in charge, not an APC stooge like in Imo State. To the IPOB, I say this move is really commendable.

So na one of the so-called candidates way abused themselves for debate go be governor of a state
