A tactically sound Coach has the Tools to succeed as Super Eagles Coach.

Maduka still gonna get picked ahead of Uzoho by any Coach as GK.

Backline..... Aina, Akpoguma, Balogun and Sanusi should always be the first Choice based on Form and Clubs' pedigree.

Middle...... Onyeka and Ndidi pivot gonna be hard to break.

Attacking Midfielders...... Chukwueze, Iwobi and Aribo.

Forward.... no other choice but Osimhen.

Musa, Simon, Onuachu, Shehu, Omeruo shouldn't ever make the List again. Instead, Awoniyi for Onuachu, Ebuehi for Shehu Lukman for Simon, Moffi for Musa, and hopefully Olise or Ejaria for Omeruo (enough of packing Defenders in the Squad).
U were doing well until
Awoniyi for onuachu?
Taiwo still needs more time to prove himself
As of now I prefer Moffi to him
And nacho nko?
Lukman for simon-this I love

Komekn, please recommend a Nigerian British coach with UEFA pro license currently coaching a team and has been successful.

I forgot the ones you listed the other day. Thanks

Before then sef he started buckling down. It started during the friendlies for the WC 2018. Me I always stress this issue of faith and confidence because it directly affects how a coach sets up his team. I recall that Rohr never was pessimistic about our hopes of qualifying for the WC. We were an attacking team. It was when we qualified for the WC Rohr started talking negative. We thought it was mind games. I think he felt we were not good enough for the world stage. So he retreated and having retreated, he could not get himself out again and since then things have steadily gone downhill. As his confidence plummeted, so did our game become jaguda football.

You're very much correct. Rohr definitely has to go, coz he has reached his peak, but should be the one to lead us in Cameroon.

E shock you?!

Perhaps cos he's playing 3 at the back, hence Professor Daniel thought he's a defensive Coach.

Maybe Roberto Martinez also is a defensive Coach.

Dude doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Chelsea under Tuchel outplayed Man city and Liverpool.

How can that be defensive coach?

I've been corrected by Andrew and one other Moniker like that. Nacho is part and parcel of the Squad already.

I became a huge fan of Spain after Nigeria defeated them at France 98. Even though they lost, I was thrilled by their passing game and believed in the near future they would succeed.

With Aragones in the head of affairs, he put together a young Spanish team and I had one of my biggest heartbreaks in international football. When Zidane inspired France with some mind-blowing displays to eliminate Spain. I slept off at the spot where I watched that game because I believed in their playing pattern.

In the future, there was a turnaround that led to total success in Spain in both national and club football.

What I am pointing out is that short-term wins don't thrill me. I want to see a long term plan being followed because I believe in the future, that will lead to a load of successful winnings.

I want decades of success. Not some short wins.
Great points about long term planning for sustained success. Thing is that we lack the stamina and will to carry out any form of long planning not just in football but in everything.

At the stage where I am, wins by the team no longer thrills me. There's this intensity, this grit, this fluidity that I hanker after so much that flat victories makes me unsatisfied. Do I want the team to win? Yes but I think we can win by playing good football.

So Bielsa is out of the discussion.

I have always made my point and understanding of the game clear. I will give you an instant.

I stopped supporting Manchester United in 2010. At that time, they have played the Champions League finals with Chelsea and won. Played the Champions League finals with Barcelona and lost. They had won the English Premier League and on top of the table.

Despite the trophy success, I was not satisfied with the direction of the club and I stopped supporting them for a growing Manchester City.

I supported City because I believed in the direction of the club. One was signing Roberto Mancini. I knew in the near future, there would be drastic successful changes.

So I have never been a fan of immediate success.

Na money you see wey you take follow Man Ciy. Na play I Dey oooo. grin

Mou and attacking football in the same sentence?!

Tuchel and Conte play defensive football? Well I've learned from you sir.

Mourinho holds the record for the most goals scored by a team in a single La liga season with 121 goals the season he won the league with Real Madrid! He has orchestrated his team to win games with big margins...

Tuchel and Conte set up their teams defensively as much as Mourinho does...they still play attacking football..

Calling Mourinho style conservative jus further expose your ignorance...

It doesn’t matter nah ,so any player that played at afcon 13 should have retired from international football ?

So if a player is 20/22 years of age then the player should no more be playing for his national team ?

A player should be dropped from the national team only because he is not good enough or has lost form and not because he played at a tournament 8 years ago

Omeruo is not good enough and has lost form.

Make we drop am, we thank him for his service

Genuine question guys,

I was arguing with one fellow on Twitter yesterday who thinks that Rohr doesn't deserve to be sacked, because according to him, "He was qualifying us for tournaments without headache"

Do you guys think this is enough and he should keep his job?

The problem is we are fans and rational debate is in short supply.Right now, the consensus is that Rohr is the worst coach ever. We hear the loud chorus "he has to go!", but true to type, there is no contingency plan.

Can they pay Rohr first before talking about firing him?He has covered NFF's shame for too long. No one deserves such treatment. We can't pay the man in the job and we're talking about replacing him.....

With who? Do we have money to pay the replacement: Foreign/Local/whoever? And hire who? Amuneke?
This is the Super Eagles we are talking about. NFF wouldn’t hire the Ghanaian or Cameroonian U17 World Cup-winning coach that ‘carried last’ in AFCON to coach the SE..

Can we be real even for a split second??

Yes, we've been piss poor but you get what you pay for.....unless he's not meeting his targets, sacking him means arrears and the rest of his contract.

Talk is cheap men...Pay him then address his performance or expectations.

If you're working in an office and giving under par performance because the pay is low, should wisdom not propel you to quit the job?

Bear in mind, that every place you work in, is merely an audition for a bigger role, larger pay, a better establishment. So, you put in your best while there, and when you think your best is not being rewarded properly, it is your prerogative to leave while you can still brag, lest all of the work you have done prior loses value.

If NFF no dey pay Rohr well, he should have quit the job since 2019 at most, subjecting us to poor football has not only brought us severe PTSD, it has also caused his own good work early on, to be tarnished.

Do you know a good coach that would never have waited for things to get this bad? Herve Renard is an example. You know a good coach, from the level of mediocrity they are willing to descend to. You cannot pay a decent coach to ruin his CV with mediocrity

Rohr and Ole are in the same WhatsApp group. They are simply not good enough and they never really were.

the play pattern is a failure in itself

United fans can say Ole never really failed them the last few seasons, after all, just last season, they finished second and qualified for the UCL despite how impossible it seemed, but these are calamities waiting to happen.

It's like watching a car skid along the road, you know it will lead to a fatal accident, but still, you are made to watch it go.

That was why when people were happy with Rhor for qualifying, I was vocal about his conservative pattern of play. I hammered repeatedly that it will lead to stagnancy in our growth.

So the World Cup Quarterfinal will not thrill me if we are playing dross football. Because, in the near future, we would be mediocre.

Quality play remains King because it leads to the development of the team.
Your logic is excellent and practical realities bear them out. If you exert yourself to do well even if you fail in the moment, over time good results will follow but if you are satisfied with momentary victories secured through mediocre performance, over time you will fail. It's a dynamic and a nuanced process that many might not easily discern.
I agree in toto with you.

@TheGoodJoe..... I respect your understanding of the Game and what you like in the Game.

Not Everyone is a Fan of tiki taka or ghen ghen football. Till today, Mourinho would always be a special one to some set of Fans, coz he always delivers.

Mou's play pattern is conservative but he guarantees success. Remember he took Spurs to League Cup Final? Thus his Stint at the Club is not entirely a Failure.

Once again, I respect your understanding of the Game, but to me Trophy would always come first.
I have never liked Tika taka cos I don't believe in one side dominating possession in such a manner that the other team does not have the ball. (In fact they are robbed of the ball) What's the pleasure if only one team has the ball 70-80 percent of the time? Did I come to watch one team pass the ball among themselves? It's two teams playing. No be say only one team go dey pass among themselves from morning till night. It's boring to me.

At the same time I don't like bland football (tiki taka is actually bland to me) like the ultra conservative football of Rohr or Mourinho. I like Pelegrini, I like Jupp Heynckes (Bayern Munich ) and Jurgen Klopp.

I like intense, high energy football between the two teams. That back and forth. You fire me, I fire you, as in that drama is what I now enjoy in football.
