You guys are all just blowing grammar. Evil can't be justified. Self-defense isn't evil. Same act of killing is either evil or self-defense, depending on the circumstances. Once it's in the direction of evil then it can't be justified Simply logic na. I don't see any argument here. |

As long as you have called it evil, any justification of evil, is itself evil and a furtherance of evil. |
Re: Should Evil Be Justified Regardless Of The Intention by maiquel: 2:08pm On Nov 19, 2021 |
Y'all should understand that not everything that is bad is evil, some things are just not good morally wise... And morality is relative. So... my question is What is evil? |
Re: Should Evil Be Justified Regardless Of The Intention by emerged01(m): 2:09pm On Nov 19, 2021 |
Dtruthspeaker:Only God that can determine what is evil. I believe that is the reason God does not allow human to pass judgement. In some cases to human,we can determine evil but not in all cases. What seems evil to us may not be evil, hence it may be called justification of evil to human but not God who sees differently. Above all,God cannot justify evil. |

Opeyemiextra: Make I help drive this your thinking and topic forward small with this small example. When a student committed some wrongdoings and you decided to use corporal punishment. Do you see it as an evil in a way to child or just ordinary punishment to the student? |

The intention of EVIL has to be considered.... else, I'll call it 'Deliberate Wrongdoing'... and somehow, it comes back to bite you. |
Re: Should Evil Be Justified Regardless Of The Intention by Awoo88: 2:12pm On Nov 19, 2021 |
Our actions as relative. There is no exclusively good did or evil did. What you term evil might be good and beneficial to another. And sometimes, your intention no matter how noble, the result is evil towards some. that is why actions and results are judged, not the intention. Evils are not necessarily a bad thing neither is good necessarily a beneficiary thing. |

Ends justify the means. If you can't beat them,it is better you join them. Two wrongs do not make right. It depends on circumstances and type of evil you re talking of. Any thing partaining to murder, abortion, thievery and robbery is no no, no mather the situations. |

Your questions is a conceptual contradiction. Evil is only Evil if the intention is evil. 1 Like |

This topic reminds me of my years in the University studying Philosophy. We treated such hypothetical questions under the field of Ethics. Some topics the were Situation Ethics, Utilitarian Ethics. They always try to justify every action wether good or bad on the basis of that which facilities and enhances the greater good for the greater masses depending on the situation. Good old days. |

Favfables1: The question of this thread is if evil should be justified and not if "evil is circumstantial". @bold There is nothing to get here. You stated the obvious. Everyone knows that killing in self-defense will be judged differently in court than killing for pleasure or because of greed. The latter should not be justified to bring you back to the question of this thread. |
