http://saharareporters.com/2021/11/19/exclusive-police-demand-n60000-track-phone-numbers-bandits-threatening-attack-adamawa

According to the source, the bandits called initially with a phone number that was not registered and later called with another, traced to a name and location which the leaders provided the police but the police refused to launch an investigation into the matter.

why do we still have this APC govt in power

The villagers should not pay the 30 mil, rather they should use the 30mil to relocate to Boss Mustafa village.

Let the bandits/terrorist come there to collect the 30mil.

in the same country , where the police in question haven't been paid their allowances for months
they are only trying to be creative. las las tracking of phones isn't the primary responsibility of the police
Are you really trying to justify this? Do you think this country will run if we all decided to become insensitive public servants/ criminals because we're being owed allowances?

Pls give them the damn #60,000k. It's not even up to 10% of what the bandits are demanding. I support the police on this one

In falseprophet1 voice!

I see the police and the community leaders going back and forth on this issue of tracking the phone number

I see the time the bandits gave to the community to pay the 30 million or they attack elapsed

I see the bandits attack the community, going on a killing spree, burning every living and non living thing in the community.

I see the news on every news outlets and nairaland;
More than 100 killed, as bandits attacked community because they refused to pay 30million.
Community leaders; we reported to the police and provided the phone number of the bandits, but the police demanded for ₦60,000 to track the phone number.

police denied the allegations; saying we will investigate

I see everyone moving on as if nothing happened, I see the community abandoned to count their loss and mourn their dead

This I have seen

There family may be next victim.
The police are not helping matters. I bought an android phone for 30k & it was stolen. I went to the police headquarters to track and arrest the thief. I was asked to pay 30k for the tracking & that is how I abandoned the idea.

You are encouraging criminality.

At this point maybe we should just scrap the police and everyone should just carry a personal gun.

Criminals everwhere. That's their way nothing new about those people in black and black uniform typical zoogerian police

Any Police officer tracking phones have to pay the ICT personnel that will provide information on the location of the criminals and you don't expect the police officer to fund the tracking with his small salary. Their only work is to use the information given to them about the location, movement, the phone number of both the criminal and phone numbers of the people that usually interact with him on phone and heat map of their target to locate the person. They once helped in tracking my friends lost phone and were impressed by their performance. It is the government that has failed to equip the Nigerian Police properly. So community instead of providing the N60, 000 will prefer to pay N30, 000,000.00 to the bandits?

I think you're likely a policeman. It's only in Nigeria people justify such an absurdly. Wait till you're asked to pay for an autopsy or investigation for your loved ones by public servants and I pray that happens.

Bro for one, you're not supposed to pay law enforcement agencies to get your stolen phone tracked. The equipment for tracking stolen phones was bought with tax-payers' money and it's part of the duties of the police to track the thieves to catch them.

Two, this is a threat of attack by terrorists.

WTF is wrong with you, bro?

Extortion is in their constitution.
u mean the I.P.O should use his money to pay for the tracking from his small salary? U try bross. In other advance country there is provision for that from the Government, not the investigation officers.
