1) post a link to the book which you are quoting instead of just the passage which you want to show
2) if the ijo took land by force from Benin, they wouldn't have been called pirates nor would they have been living in their canoes
3) basically the ijo ancestors were criminals, pirates who hide in their canoes and attack innocent traders and civilians. They were no match for Benin.
4) you really need to learn how to comprehend.

It is not in the place of the so called south south people or south east people to decide if the ijaws in that areas want to be merge with the ijaw nation.
