Some Engineers Actually do this! They extort every Contractor , Artisans & and vendors who comes to their site. If you don't give them what they want, they will Paint you & your job badly to the owner.

My carpenter was also not happy I got the supply of wood from another source ( hslbroker2). But when I asked him of the quality, he confirmed the quality was ok. So I told him case close. After all, I go pay you for your job.

At least your carpenter was honest with the quality of woods, some would very well say it's of the poorest quality, just to make you feel bad since you didn't get it from their own source.

But you can buy doors that meets your taste, or Hire a Professional door builder to build doors that meets your satisfaction (check out sample of doors online, you would definitely find some you might love) Ask the door builder to replicate the design you choose. I remember Spyder880 & others shared some samples of doors on this thread, which are really nice, you can check that out as well.



NB: Am not a door builder or seller. Just an humble suggestion.

I have someone that can do that in dwellins international in okota, very solid cossy door, that is if you are looking for something sturdy and not cheap, they have been making custom designs for clients. Wardrobes, doors and furniture in general.

Such can never deliver a good job.

The little people (artisans, contractors, vendors) who knew me here know I’d rather support you with even more fund to do your job than to take from you.
(I once supported a young engineer here with some fund to take care of his logistics while preparing a bid for a MDU project that he eventually didn’t get. Even the owner didn’t know I did such a thing. Some people only need a helping hand).

I’ve heard/seen people who do this and interestingly most of them don’t know that’s one reason we can’t work together.

If you’d take kickback from those you’re supposed to monitor/oversee, how are you going to stop them from doing shoddy works or point out errors on the project.

The interest of most builders/contractors/supervisors often times lies in how much they can get legitimately or illegitimately on a project and not the integrity of the job.

It starts from even the smallest things.

I will always respect man like Spyder880. He has helped me so many times here to get a job without asking for anything in return. Him another some other people here will just connect you to a job just so they might help you progress in life.

Many family relations will ask for egunje for a job they're yet to give you. Most times it doesn't even work because of their greed

Often times they’ll come with useless equipment that cannot do a very good job.

Here’s a good example:

We’re currently working on this project and we need to do some trimming on the wall cladding (red circled part in the pic 1 attached). The artisan engaged on this project do not have the tool required to do a neat trim of the fibre cement boards (reciprocating saw or cordless circular saw), so he chose to use carpenter saw.

I decided to stop him and provided him what he need to do a good job.

Carpenter saw will do the job but won’t give us a neat cut.

Thank you my man, the only reason why I am still on the field building houses is because of my desire to keep youths off the streets. Get as many youths engaged in different skills that can change their financial fortunes and make our society a better place. I am happy for you and many other youths who get busy daily to make an honest living.

I know it pushes 80V to around 140 - 150V but fluctuates and do not allow passthrough when it get to 50V - 60V. So my madam who’s always at home do manual override to allow passthrough whenever the voltage gets too low to allow current into the house for lighting.
