How does this conference centre affect the ordinary citizen of anambra on the street. In my humble opinion, I believe govt should focus first on the needs of the citizens they govern. For example good road networks withing the state capital and in communities, steady power supply, enabling enviroment forbussiness and service providers. All we see both at federal level and state level is misplaced priority. Na God go deliver us from the hands of these bunch of wicked souls masquerading as leaders 2 Likes |

What's with Anambra and ugly substandard projects? The airport looks like a giant warehouse. The stadium looks like a high school playground. Now, this conference hall looks like a scene from the book of Eli. Anambra, you guys can do better o! Don't you guys see what's happening in Kaduna and Borno? I don't want to mention Lagos before dem say Afonja. But take a look at Borno and bury ya heads in shame. 3 Likes |

But it doesn't and can never have what it takes to over take the richest, most populous and the only city with the highest GDP ...higher than 52 African countries...housing two busiest sea port in Africa ...one is about to join (lekki port)..busiest airport in west Africa... Anago55:You know quite in your heart that without Anambra people esp the biz men , there is no Abakeleke. Moreover, you are comparing a widely less educated, less industrialised and less developed Ebonyi to Anambra. Is there any major developed towns in Ebonyi apart from Abakeleke? Ebonyi today still remain the most illiterate state in the whole of southern Nigeria. I think the governor should focus on massive primary and secondary education for Ebonyians. I truly commend him esp in the college of medicine.... King David University but I bet you, the University will be dominated by non indigenes of imo and Anambra because of two reasons; Merit cut off mark as well as the outrageous millions tuition that he put for it. Many families of Ebonyi may not afford it. Mark my words, that's what you gonna see there. Go to your University and see the there are more IMO and Anambra State Lecturers than Ebonyi people. Ebonyi is actually the least developed state in the south but I am happy they are coming up. After Lagos State in terms of Ubarnisatiom is Anambra. Yet, in the whole of Southern Nigeria after Lagos is Anambra while Ebonyi is actually the least with states like Ekiti, Bayelsa topping it. I know people are just carried away with the fly overs and street lights of recent, and the big market, development center etc, that those not com close to the established Anambra State with multiple towns and cities. I'm sorry to say that the Airport started by the governor is a misplaced priority because you gonna see low patronage. But look at what's gonna happen in Anambra airport, I heard is starting tomorrow band already booked up. I personally like Ebonyi as a state and have been involved in doing some charity stuff there through mission, build bore hole in izzi area through All saints Anglican Church, support some ministers that are living in abject poverty but for you to compare Anambra with Ebonyi is more than laughable. Hold it there and stop that division. 5 Likes |

Cognitivereason: Well, ask yourself who the most importers of those containers at Lagos are, I think we can start from there. Lagos is a very vibrate city that has the backing of the FG and it has not known any war that distroyed it partially or completely but Anambra along side other SE states were war ravaged (Nigerian civil war) and everything were destroyed completely so they had to start building from scratch. With over USD 6B GDP against USD 33B GDP of Lagos that have an international airport, seeport, and others it will only be a matter of time anambra will surprise Lagos. |

Anago55:Please tell me how Ebonyi is better and beautiful than Anambra? In terms of Hospitality? Housing? Industrialization? Commence? Or because of concrete road... Apart from the fact that vehicle does not accelerate smoothly on the concrete road,Afiko to Okigwe road that was built just last year is now a mess. The concert has crack allover with pot holes... Even one lane is not motorable anymore. Can you name any capital project you know in Ebonyi and the construction company handling it? Sorry to say Ebonyi projects are being over hyped. Even the airport is being handled by local labourers using bamboo for scaffolding. if you doubt me; name the construction company handling the airport project as we all know that Anambra airport is being handled by Craneburg, Nike flyover Enugu is being constructed by IDC. Apart from the first 2 flyovers Umahi built in Ebonyi state, others are poorly and locally constructed by local labourers. Go there and see things for yourself... Starting from the beam to the walls of the flyover are carelessly casted with rough surface... This is why he is covering the finished work surface with PVC aluminum panel, and are even putting parallel barricades in the name of beautification. Take a close look at the picture below... The beam is not even straight. 1 Share

Oga stop living a fallacy... .... Am let me echo this to you ...ANAMBRA CAN NEVER SURPASS LAGOS Lagos GDP is over $130bn...forget that old report from Wikipedia... War or no war in anambra...u simply don't know what Lagos is.. And pls quit this self illusion and deceit that all the major imports are carried out by Igbos...the major imports sucking Nigeria's forex are done by NNPC by importing fuel, BUA, Dangote, FMN, food and chemical processing factories, and other major companies in Nigeria...even in cars and some machine importation are done directly by companies and multinational brands like bajaj, hisense, aliade and many more before they recouple them in their warehouses Only a small percentage especially the tokunbo goes to traders(Igbos)..and in total the worth isn't up to what those companies import... And if u are using the Igbo's entrepreneur spirit built on business dominated by importing and reselling as a yardstick then ur delusional... Importation don't build an economy or add to GDP growth....but the state level of industrialisation and manufacturing is what adds up Onitsha inland water port is not a sea port...Onitsha river remains a river ...no matter how you dredge it....a river remains a river and can not allow large Merck container ships to safely navigate through it hence can not host a deep sea port... All the market in the SE including aba and Onitsha isn't up to all to all the market in Lagos put together... Anambra hosting an international airport can never pose a threat to Lagos airport..the only airports at risk is IMO and Enugu airport.... Bvmsson: |
