Presidency or Not the Igbos can't secede anytime soon, We won't secede with presidency and we can't secede without presidency, so let's get real, stop threatening people about with secession and stop begging inconsequentials, get real the East never lost out if you can play your card right. 16 Likes 3 Shares |

I don't think so. Fairness, Justice and equity are what Igbo's are really after . FG might have neglected the region, but their local politicians neglect it more 47 Likes 3 Shares |

Presidency is not by tribe. There are almost 200 different tribes in Nigeria if we are going by that. 27 Likes 2 Shares |

The funny thing about Nairaland is that the people accusing the Igbos of being hateful of other tribes and want to be given President on a platter of gold are also equally hateful of the Igbos and other tribes too, just read some of their statements above. As someone from the South, the plain truth is that it will be generally difficult from someone from the South to be president, except you're ready to lick the balls of the Northerners. It will be very easy for the Northerners to use their poros borders to import machineries and underage people both from the North and also from Niger Republic to vote for them, while the South lags behind on the collection of PVC and are uninterested in voting. And it's not like the presidency has benefitted those from the North that has ruled Nigeria the most times since independence..... it's just pure greed. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

The only reason Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas are scared of Igbo man becoming President is fear of Southeast infrastructural development which will most likely make Igbo businesses to become more independent away from Lagos and Kano, etc. They love the way they use 2nd Niger Bridge construction to brag as greatest feat they have done in developing Igbo land, when in reality, they know 2nd Niger Bridge is the least of infrastructures needed to boost Southeast economy. Imagine removing a whole Southeast from the railway map but adding irrelevant Niger Republic and yet Yorubas who claim to be fair, and sophisticated politicians applaud this just because it marginalizes Igbos they so much love to hate while claiming to accomodate them. Every little talk some Yoruba kids will be taunting Igbos to leave Lagos and go back to Southeast after using Eastern resources to develop their region. Instead of making that foolish remark, why not support peaceful exit of Southeast from your so called one Nigeria so that you can enjoy your Nigeria with the tribes you prefer and cherish init, devoid of the most baddest tribe Igbo that have been painting you saintly other Nigerian tribes bad 13 Likes |

The possible outcome of making an Igbo president is as tricky as it is unpredictable. It would indeed decrease the biafra agitation in the short term but not thereafter. What works most against the Igbos is that they have not culturally assimilated the other major tribes in Nigeria. This is not meant to stir up any useless tribal war here but the truth is that the Igbos as I have studied, seem not to have been exposed to other people before the late 19th century. The result is that the average Igbo man has not learned how to live with other people in mutual respect and understanding. There is this fear, that an Igbo president may by this handicap of history make mistakes that would jeopardize the future of Nigeria(even though a break up may be in the best interest of everyone, emphasis on may) What the Igbos must do is understand this historical handicap and open up their minds as a people to respect other people's way of life, acknowledging that their values is not superior to others, then they can be trusted with the presidency 12 Likes |

That's why we don't want Igbo presidency, we love the wailing and the fighting and the shouting. Imagine, someone telling his children to make sure they die for Ojukwu dreams, after his death, and tell their children to do the same. Just to find out in hell that Ojukwu and his gangs were after oil well, position, lands, government properties, that Tafawa, and Azikiwe denied them. NO GOING BACK. THE CHILDREN ARE ALREADY FIGHTING. 18 Likes 6 Shares |

Mscheeew These people fail to understand the main problem with their clamour for presidency. For free, here it is - TRUST. The average non Igbo Nigerian has serious doubts about the loyalty of the Igbos to them and the Nigerian entity at that. This situation is not being helped by the disposition of the average Igbo man to other tribes of Nigeria. The clamour for secession, the rhetorical threats to other tribes over the civil war, the popular acceptance of nnamdi kanus destructive and villianisation of the country, the open and unguarded utterances on other tribes by the average Igbo. Locally, there is the perspective of an Igbo president activating the biafra agenda, causing economic, social and cultural upheavals due to rhetorical sentiments. THIS IS REAL. So, to the Igbos, you need to work on your trust issues. Have a unified front and mouth piece, unlike the motley crew of representatives or heralders that have done more harm than good in the quest for Igbo presidency under NORMAL circumstances. Up Nigeria. 6 Likes |
