My experience yesterday! While I was angry there wasn't surge and na small 9h trips popping upandan, ended a trip on Osolo way and immediately a 1.6x request to V.I popped up, sharperly I turned, called the man to know his exact spot, but the way he replied on the phone was somehow rude, I ignored cos 1 million this December.

Got to pu at chicken republic, he was busy checking out my car, plate number and all, I was just laughing, he hopped in with his friend, both putting on senator wears, I dey happy say na better people, immediately the hopped in, I swiped arrived, then proceeded to find my way out to the road. As soon as I positioned on my lane I showed them at the back that I'm starting he trip, but it seems they were both carried away cos the orderer was on a call and ranting like mad. But I'm less concerned cos my own na kowope.

Went straight to gbagada, and made a comprehensive report and still told them they didn't pay before bolt go block me unnecessarily. Omo mad people dey Lagos oo, but the next rider was so full of joy, a lady and we gisted till we got to her destination at ikeja.

You can’t relate and understand the logic but I’ll help you… well as for shoprite, before you make your request come outside stand very close to a good landmark eg entrance 1/2, kfc, chicken rep etc…. Let a driver know you’re already in front of entrance 1 or kfc.

For blenco, always be outside the exit gate book ride especially bolt they most times 1-5mins away… tell the driver you’re already waiting for him at the entrance. It’s help in looking for cars in the parking lot like someone wey lost money…. Naija parking lot no get number or any good order try these above methods and come back here to let us know your experience.

White man go Dey outside waiting and tracking the drivers movement but naija go enter mall without buying anything yet and book Uber down to waste his time after finished for over 30mins they’ll begin Dey call oga where did you park in a very big parking lot

Once I see these name pooping on my pickup screen: Xe, Xao, Jin, Mei all I needed to do is tell them i am driving to entrance 1 or 2.

Their reply most times is okay my friend I meet you there…

We’re not really ripe for technology yet…

Don’t even talk about delivery bikemen those one Dey suffer from riders end

You've said it all

continuation

Leaving abj, same guy picked me up in town to the airport. This time he told me to go despite telling him that I've checked in online. While on the plane, he sent his details.

Getting to GAT, Lagos, at about 10pm, I started requesting ride on bolt, hmmmmm, the bolt cabal there should be feared by all. It made me understand the usual driver gathering at the airport

So, after trying like 8 times on 1.7 surge, one came over and told me that I should pay him 5k, whereas, the price on the app indicated 3.5k. I checked Google maps, no reds. I told him no deal, I wanted the trip online, he arrived and cancelled later tried again it entered their clique again.

At 10:30pm, I opted for Bendel insurance. Trekked to ikeja under bridge, entered korope. The total amount I spent to my area finished at 300h.

I just did my usual grin

Truth be told some of us are mean.

Next time I'm traveling, I'll park my car at the airport and get a trip out than go through hell from some drivers.
IFEBARBIE:
continuation grin

So, the guy met me at the arrivals. Let me help you with your luggage, I'm fine thanks.

We got to his car, it's Honda Accord. The car on the app was Toyota Corolla. Told him I may not go with him. He assured of a safe trip and I obliged, quickly arranged for Bendel insurance just in case he plays funny.

So, we got talking. He told me he relocated to Abuja cos of Lagos blues. The guy turned out to be a very cool guy. He saved my number cos of intracity runs. I observed that Abuja chauffeurs are more relaxed, cool and courteous probably due to the fact that the environment is more friendly and has better infrastructures compared to Lagos.

At my destination, had to do a transfer cos the trip was supposed to be a card trip. He gave his details and was to leave, I said no, I want him to receive the alert after like 30mins of trying he got the alert.

TBC grin

Better still, don't wait for riders during trips except a few situations where you have to apply a human face. Such waits must never exceed five minutes. Waiting is forbidden when it's a short trip. End trip if rider insists on making a stop.

I don't know how Bolt really works, that's why I don't bother with that app. If it's Uber, be sure wait time and time spent in traffic counts. So, if you are on Uber and you are lucky to find a surge trip (between 1,6- 2.0 only), you can wait during a trip.

Waiting during a good surge trip is a cool way of making money without lifting a finger. Anything other than that, it pays you more to keep moving. In this business, your interest should always come first. Forget how a rider feels because they are not considerate themselves by asking you to wait stupidly.

Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you grin

I don't know how you think traffic works bro.
Maybe you're thinking that staying in traffic will be increasing your fare by #500 per minute.

If the distance and time covered on that your screenshot is correct, then bolt even over paid you at 6k.

Distance = 47.5*70 = 3,325
Time = 147*12= 1,764
Base fare = 260
Booking fee = 20

Total = 5,369
Approximate = 5400.

I avoid traffic like a plaque. Even with surge trips, cos spending extra 1hr in traffic can only add #700 to the actual price of a surgeless trip. 1hr=60mins=60*12=#720

Conclusion: Traffic adds to the price of a trip; but it's almost insignificant.
Correct, in as much the rider's fare will increase it doesn't pay the driver.
You earn more when you cover distance, that's why I always educate the rider because they believe we are enjoying traffic simply because they are paying more than the usual fare.
But truly it's not worth it when compared to the stress, wear and tears on your car.
It will only make sense if the trip is on surge.

See me see wahala oh I go do road worthiness after paying 6500 they print out paper say I get unpaid bill and would not be issued road worthiness certificate say make I go pay 20k. And my current RWC dey expire on 17th of this month. Person say maybe I don comot one traffic offence wey I no remember.

I told you people here that some traffic light in Lagos have camera. You definitely committed an offence. Check the printed documents, the date of the offence, the actual offence committed and the photographs of your car are all there.

As for the argument of traffic and increased earnings, traffic does not pay the driver. Riders are sometimes shocked when you end a trip that you stayed long in a traffic and the amount is lower than they expected.

In traffic or waiting, you only get paid per minute which is very low. Any trip that will take you across third mainland bridge will definitely pay well.

The reason is because of the distance that will be covered in that bridge even though at a lesser time than a traffic prone area.

Bros with this your explanations, in my own humble I don’t think those guys have done something really wrong that will warrant you dropping them at the express.

Have encountered several riders that’ll claim that oga I don’t know when you start your trip with attitude but the best response from my side will be: sir/ma seems you’re carried away with your call/whatever he or she was doing before I started the trip.

I’ll keep my mouth shut till we get to the final destination to avoid any arguments.

Most of the times we drivers put emotions and overreact based on the experience we encounter with probably the last rider or frustrated Lastma.

All in all, we’re here to make money but you lose 8klm from where you picked them to the express you dropped them off

On bolt, traffic doesn't increase anything, but it does on uber

I beg to differ pls... At the end of any ride the time spent on a one way trip will be calculated base on the price weather its in Bolt or Uber.

Price fare is base on distance covered and time spent. i.e to say if you spend 5hrs on traffic on a 30km trip as against 1hr on a 30km the fare price will be calculated accorsimgly base on time spent and distance covered.

Only indriver is fixed price so you don't expect the fare to increase even when stock in traffic beyond the ETA initially.

The bolded is my No1 rule.

2days ago on a Bolt ride a nursing mother with her friend order from Yaba tech to St. Williams Estate/Street Ipaja when sje called she told me Egbeda, the friend stopped at gate B/S, on getting to Idimu roundabout Gmap wasn't pointing anywhere to Egbeda, sje directed me and from experience I'd been to the place b4... Somewhere around power line inside, the road na baba for baddo... I managed to get her to the end of the long bad road which is off Egbeda Rd and told her I can't do it anymore I'm sorry. She called her hubby to inform him after much talk on the phone the guy did transfer to me.

I stopped a bike for her, offered her 2h to pay for the bike but sje refused to accept it... I was just having sympathy for the baby whom I believe its not up to 5months but menh! The last and only time I was there with my last rented Corolla I vowed never to ever go there again.

Even if you enter into an ocean for a rider they'll still rate you one star that your car didn't swim well.

Do a Badagry trip for a bolt rider for 1k they'll tell you your shocks are bad reason for their waist pain. na 1star be ur portion

Do F1 for a Bolt rider who is already late for a flight along the process you ran into an accident or damage one of your side mirrpw lile ikejamismgrin the Bolt rider will still give you 1 star that you don't know how to speed you almost got them killed.

Bolt riders are devil's advocates. Bolt riders are not humans in fact they're aliens the only thing I like about them is their moneygrin

We are always quick to complain when the fare is incomplete but never have we told Bolt/Uber to do fare review that the fare was excessive especially if the Rider has paid already.

ANOTHER SARS IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
Yesterday the 7th of December 2021 I was returning from Ogun State to Lagos in my car. At Oju Ore some plain cloth men blocked my way and ordered me to park. I lowered my side glass to know why I should Park. Unfortunately I had forgotten to lock my door. Before I knew it they were all in my car. They said I changed lane while driving and that was an offence. I couldn't remember changing lane even if it has become an offence to change Lane in a free flowing traffic. They asked me not to worry that they will simply caution me if I have not been cautioned before. They asked the one in front seat to go with me to confirm if or not I have been cautioned before and the others came down from my car. The man started speaking so sweetly to me that I couldn't suspect him any more. He told me whence they check their records and it shows I have never been cautioned they will book my plate number as caution and let me go. He took me into Oke-Ado local government premises and we drove behind it into a cleared plot like an abandoned mechanic workshop with a pit facility for wheel alignment and balancing. Immediately about four men rushed out and surrounded my car. They asked the man who brought me if I gave him tough time on the way and he said NO. They took my key from me and the man that brought me left the scene. They told me they will give me ticket of N150000 to go to Abeokuta to pay before retrieving me car but because I cooperated that one of them should take me to the POS where I should transfer N50000 and take back my car. I simply took my bag from the car and started leaving and they blocked my way and asked me where I was going. I told them I was leaving because I don't have N50000 in my account. I made a quick call to our brother the Police commissioner but he didn't pick. They ordered me to bring my wallet for search. I told them there is nothing to search that I have only N10000 in the wallet. They asked me to bring the N10000. At this time I had started to feel unsafe. I brought out my wallet and incidentally I had N12000. I gave them N10000 but they insisted I must give them the whole N12000. So I gave them the N12000 just to see if I could leave the scene. So they asked one of them to take me out through a small gate manned by two men. As we were approaching the gate the Police commissioner called me. They asked me to ignore the call and leave the premises. I told them it was the Police Commissioner and I cannot ignore his call. I deliberately put it on speaker so they could hear. The Commissioner asked me what the matter was and I narrated to him. He asked me to keep cool that he will asked the DPO to storm there with his men. On hearing that both the one in my car and the two at the gate fled. I waited at the gate for about five minutes thinking of what next to do. I decided afterward to forget about them and drove home.
It has cost me N12000 and stress to get this experience to share with you so don't be the next victim. Lessons to learn are as follows:
(1) Always lock your doors when driving
(2) Always have your door glasses up if you are using a/c. Wind it down a little to speak to unknown persons outside the car
(3) don't follow any plain cloth person to any office no matter how sweet his tongue may be. I could have raised alarm if I were not deceived by his sweet talks
(4) don't follow anybody to any local government premises.
(5) the Commissioner said that from the recent Court judgment in River State FRSC has no right to impound any vehicle not to talk of non paramilitary persons.
A word is enough for the wise. Pls, share this post to as many platforms as possible for others to learn from. I have paid the price for you. I have signed this post so you know it is not a fake news. I understand the risk but I care for you.
Bro. Ray

Immediately we climbed the oshodi bridge and right in the middle baba just said that "Oga you didn't even show us you were starting the trip" my head rang aloud immediately, Omo I change am for am oo, told him if he wasn't aware when the app told him I've arrived in the car, baba still dey talk say I should have told him. I say no be you go spoil my day, oya I'm not going again, come down biko, we were just passed lasma office to the front, baba say I should take them to bus stop, I say No, I manage take dem a little before we climb the bridge, dropped their senator wearing asses in the hot sun and zoomed off. Went straight to gbagada, and made a comprehensive report and still told them they didn't pay before bolt go block me unnecessarily. Omo mad people dey Lagos oo, but the next rider was so full of joy, a lady and we gisted till we got to her destination at ikeja.
Different people with different attitude. Some will make you happy, while some will get you angry, and mess you up if you are not careful.

IFEBARBIE:
continuation

Hmmm is trekking part of your hubby or you miss poverty days by taking korope bus too?

Ordinary 5k you can’t give ant drivers staying in airport from morning till night.

That’s why I pity some riders on 1.9 surge paying 11k for trips within Lagos is something else. But how we for do ?

We are always quick to complain when the fare is incomplete but never have we told Bolt/Uber to do fare review that the fare was excessive especially if the Rider has paid already.

Hehe that one go hard o.
