In fulfilment of his promise to provide a better welfare package that will enhance service delivery by health care professionals, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has presented 30 brand new vehicles to Medical Directors of State-owned secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities.

The vehicles were presented to the Medical Directors by the Governor at a brief handover ceremony held at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos.

The elated Medical Directors thanked the Governor for his kind gesture, saying the gift is a clarion call for renewed dedication and commitment towards achieving the present administration's goals in the health sector.

Present at the handover ceremony were the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi; Chairman Lagos State Health Service Commission, Dr. Atinuke Onayiga and the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of Health and Health Service Commission, Dr. Olusegun Ogboye and Dr. Muyiwa Eniayewun respectively.

Also at the event were the Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State AIDS Control Agency, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Health, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih; Special Assistant on Health, Dr. Tunde Ajayi and Technical Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Olamide Okulaja.

Why not just pay them a better wage, provide decent medical environment, decent pension package's, right equipments, well funded primary healthcare etc etc

Why/When did it become the Governor's duty to buy cars and house's, for the privileged few ??

We commend the governor but more should be done in Lagos State to lift up the Medical Personnel status.Many Doctors migrating abroad discovered that- what they earn as Salary and allowances in in 5-years in Nigeria is what their Foreign Counterparts in South Africa, Britain and USA have in just one Year!
Why do many Doctors migrate abroad for a Greener Pasture- because they don't see future,then why don't you tame the future to retain them in your hospitals by:
-Double their presents emoluments
-Ensure a better Pensions after retiment
-ensure free access during their Annual Leave,like their foreign counterparts.
-if about 500 and more Medical Personnel were lost between 2020 Covid-19 to( UK, Europe and USA,then our approach on Health -Care Delivery should be different- not just Cars! This is Nigerian Health Status,not just a State.
Anyway,Politicians hardly even patronize the Nigerian Health System but mostly embarked on marketing showmanship.Most Politicians do meet the same Nigerians Medical Personnel they couldn't provide for locally in Dubai,London and New York Hospitals!
So who is fooling who then!

Commendable. This will checkmate brain drain in a long run. These medics are human and needs some incentives to motivate them invest their ultimate best. Same should be done to journalists, teachers, security agents and every other professionals who has sacrifice so much for humanity.

How many doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, maintenance technicians, administrators etc has he recruited each year since 2019?
How many each year since 1999 by his predecessors?
Is that not a more meaningful way to enhance delivery by healthcare professionals so that Tinubu will be treated in a state healthcare facility instead of going to London for medical tourism

This isn't nice at all. The governor is fantastically corrupt! Those car would a been bought twice their original price. That's what dey all do. Govt money sweet to chop.

Meanwhile, you're buying cars for people that do not give their best in what dey do. If u don't have money and your child is in a critical condition, this people won't listen nor help u. They'll keep referring u upandan till life is been extracted from your child. nurses and other health workers in their hospitals have little or no regard for life. Youll be dying and they'll be there playing games on their phones, that's how a young man lost his 4yrs old child @ federal medical centre, ebute metta cos a male nurse didn't do what he was supposed to do. They later came out apologizing on his behalf like their pleas would bring back the lost soul.

O Lord, please, do not stop protecting your people. Demons and d likes is what we now have in this our Lagos.
