Young Man/Woman/Transgender or whatever you choose to identify as. Where in my statement have i insulted anyone? Oh i guess you are one of those that read with emotions lol. My point is very clear and they are backed up with facts. You highlighted that the PM doesn't have the power regarding border closure and they act based on medical advise. Did you listen to yourself at all? Why are you contradicting yourself? Point of correction, the chief medical officer can only advise but the PM decides if the international borders stay open or closed. Yes, each state and territory premiers decide on what happens within their state or territory but it's just a matter of time before they give in and join NSW and Victoria.

Look, i don't have the time to get into an argument with people who are narrow minded and cannot see the bigger picture. I bet you will take this one as an insult too huhn? cheesy

Anyway, i will leave you with some additional facts where the PM emphasized that the responsibility now lies with individuals and people need to learn to live with Covid. In addition, NSW and Victoria have scrapped 72 hours quarantine for fully vaccinated international arrivals. Now tell me that's a sign of a country that's about to shut it's borders undecided This will be my last post on this matter. Like i stated, learn to think outside the box wink Oh did Canada just announce they have lifted restrictions on the red list countries? shocked cheesy Wake up and stop sleeping on bike cheesy

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/you-can-choose-to-stay-home-pm-sends-message-to-those-worried-about-covid-19/71faf35f-b641-43d3-a92e-b59095658245

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/nsw-victoria-scrap-72-hour-isolation-requirement-for-international-arrivals/aacb1ebc-ffdf-4c83-adb9-c5cb9ee64789
Actually you are the one that's shallow minded and what you fail to realise is that Australia health system capacity is limited and moreover the effect of Omicron is mild and if the ICU is over stretched, they will advise against another restriction. I still insist anything can happen regarding border closure.
NSW recorded about 2k+ cases today, if the effect turn out to be severe in the next couple of days, anything can happen.
And what I mean by my earlier post regarding Scomo, he doesn't have the sole power to open/close border without due consultation and reaching a conclusion with his cabinet.
NB: Why is it that most people on temporary visa are sceptical of travelling out of the country despite the opening of the border? Because of the uncertainty.... and besides, the border is not yet open to visitors and tourists without travel exemption.

Hello.
Please I’m looking to book my flight for 27th or 30th (Qatar Airways). I’m looking to use wakanow in making the booking or is it advisable to use the Qatar Airways site or App? Also, is it possible to do a Covid test at Lagos Airport on the day of travel?

I wish that those of us that have arrived in Australia already could at least share with us their experiences like encounters at the major airports (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth etc), immigration, quarantine steps, layover experiences etc. We need to be more lively and helpful in this group chat pls. If you take a look at UK student visa forum, the difference is overwhelming... On that UK student forum, no one leaves out key details even if tiny because every info is vital for all, esp. first time travellers. Let's us not just travel out, only to forget this group, or abandon the need to support each other with our experiences out there. U may be helping someone or persons, you never can tell...

Maybe the date you've picked is unavailable(for the medicals). The queue is wild in Lagos. You may not see an available date in 2 consecutive months. I searched for available dates in Lagos for June and July and they were all booked. I had to check Abuja where I found a day in July. Make do of this info as you wish. Goodluck tho.

The processing time has changed. You can find this in the immigration's website. I think it's now from 4-7 months. My medical report was submitted in July and I'm still waiting. It's not only Nigerians, so don't be afraid. My Indian classmates are also waiting.

Dear All,

Please I want to ask something. I have a scholarship from UNSW for a Ph.D. but I do not have money for couple health insurance as UNSW said they will only refund the health care ( for me alone) when I am in Australia. Now I want to ask is it possible that I buy two single medicare insurance which is around 3068dollars each instead of buying couple? Then when we get to Australia one can get money and buy the couple one later.

Hello sir,

Congratulations on your admission and scholarship. I also have a PhD admission and scholarship from UNSW. My question is have you started the process of visa application? I don't mind connecting with you so that we can navigate through the process together.

Thank you

Good day everyone,

Please do well not to book a co-shared flight. That is a flight where you’ll be changing airline at a stop. Book a one stop flight or a flight that same airline will carry you through out your trip.

Cheers.

All the best in your visa application. I am through with mine, and received a grant. You can shoot me an email for any specific query with regards to the application.

The PM has indicated again today that personal responsibility should be on individuals to take protective measures against Covid rather than a government mandate. He also clarified that shutting down is a thing of the past and would no longer be considered an option. He added that Covid is not going away anytime soon and we have to learn to live with it. There's been a lot of push from the media but the Federal Government is surely not backing down this time around.

Please not that each state and territory have different restrictions. For those coming to NSW or Victoria, it is evident that those borders will remain open for the foreseeable future.

Please don't let the FUD spreaders push you into making commitments that are beyond your financial capability. If you have the money, feel free to purchase your ticket, otherwise, you can get a cheaper ticket at your own convenient time.
