Ohh FK off!? Your army boys looted so systematically Liberian claimed ECOMOG ACTUALLY meant Every Car Or Moving Object Gone!?

I've heard CRAZY ishyt from guys there.
I agree with you though. Unfortunately in these wars and terrible conditions, there are usually some bad eggs amongst solders who stain the uniform. Same thing with the U.S in Iran. I believe those amongst the Nigerian soldiers who misbehaved should have been brought to book or should still be made to answer to whatever crime if possible. However, that is a single story. So many Nigerian soldiers in the ECOMOG suffered the highest casualty in the effort to bring peace to these countries and not all Nigerian soldiers were in support of some of the war crimes.

It is unclear just how many Nigerian soldiers were deployed to the region or how many died. But by 1999, Nigerian troops made up 80% of the Ecomog force, with about 10 000 deployed in Liberia and 11 000 in Sierra Leone, and the country suffered the heaviest troop casualties.

Corinne Dufka, from Human Rights Watch, says the organisation welcomes efforts to pursue justice. But Dufka also acknowledges the conditions Nigerian troops were forced to survive in during the war. “I met Nigerian soldiers who’d been wounded and a few who’d been tortured by the RUF or seen fellow soldiers executed, but after hospitalisation in Nigeria, they were re-deployed to Sierra Leone, and to the field of operations.” That, of course, is not an excuse for indiscipline, Dufka says, but rather a pointer to the mental conditions of Ecomog troops at the time.

Crimes against humanity committed by Ecomog troops may have been dismissed and swept under the rug for a reason: together with the United States and United Kingdom, Nigeria was one of the major funders of the court; and, as a key peace negotiator, was on the court’s management committee. So it is no surprise that the statute that created the Special Court ruled out the prosecution of peacekeeping troops, and by extension, Nigerian soldiers.

Ghana Zoo - You love Rawling - one would think he was anything but disaster

Ghana grew at 1.9% per year on average between 1993 and 2005

Kenya that would a disaster - even Moi at his worse - grew our economy at 4 percent.

Seem your economy actually started growing 15yrs ago. I guess the discovery of more minerals can explain why the growth has not translated into urban centers that look paved with gold.

Damn the military really sc.rewed you up. You took 33yrs to double gdp from 1957 to 1993; almost zero growth; military bludgeoning citizens; then Rawling pull 1.9 percent growth until 2002 grin grin grin

Just30:
you are really stupid grin

Anyway pick any military rule in Ghana and it will still be more democratic than anything past and present in Kenya.

Ghana was under sanctions and still growing ... During this same period without sanctions, Kenya was growing at less than 1% and that is why you couldn't over take Ghana during those period.

Zoo Kenya has been messed up by years of poor economic decisions that have made Kenya an import dependent nation .. leaving the majority of Kenyans unemployed..

Sanctions to stop Rawling purging your tiny elite. Kenya in 90s till 2002 we were similarly under santions to reign on Moi.

So 1960s - Ghana GDP was already 1.2B dollars. Kenya was 0.7B dollars. Kenya population was 8M - Ghana about 7M.

We grew very rapidly in 1960s to 1970s till 1984 - averaging I think 7 percent. This was without doubt Africa best. We were going toe to toe with Asia Tigers. The Nairobi you took as North Star was built then grin grin

From 1984 - our population has grown rapidly from 8M to 20M - and that was our ONLY MAJOR MISTAKE - it started to bite us and Asian tigers left us.

We had world fastest growing population - and we woke up - and have now reign on the problem.

From 1985 to 2002 - we did average of 4 percent growth - we have had a recession I think once - in 2002 with -1 percent. Post Moi era - we have started firing on all cylinders....though we are about to unleash a huge pace in few years...

As we speak without gold, oil, aluminium - Ghana is now at 70B - Kenya at 110B - our population has increased to 50M - you are stuck at 30M - I guess famine and rawling killed a lot of people smiley

My prediction kenya is just about 3-4yrs from a major inflexion point as we are nailing all the pre-conditions for economic takeoff......we will leave many African countries grasping for air as we raise dust and fly.

Lamu port, for instance, will be the biggest port outside SA in sub-Saharan. It has now proposed an industrial city which was opened by President Kenyatta.

Great investment

We started at the same population but you manage to gain 60 million population when Ghana has only done 30 million ....

Question is, why are you guys breeding like rats when there is no real economic growth in your country, hence the massive levels of unemployment?
A Kenyan born today is even more hopeless because he will not gain a job and won't be able to create one himself ... All because he is priced out of the economy by monopoly and there are no decent jobs to accomodate 1 million yearly new labour force entrants.

Kenya born today has 56 percent chance of achieving his full potential - while Ghanian has 45 percent.

We indeed made big mistake to breed - the Kikuyus who are the largest tribe - had just come out of war and were breeding to make up for Mau Mau atrocities - and other tribes were also enjoying the fruits of our economic miracle - growing 7 percent for two decades - were similarly breeding.

That is only mistake - and we have rectified now. We have Africa highest contraceptive usage. As from 2005 - we had inflection point - less and less kids are being born - right now 10-15 cohort are the largest. This is demographic transition that gave Tiger Asian wings to fly while we were being dragged by many kids.

High fertility, combined with declining mortality, gave Kenya one of the world's fastest population growth rates in the 1970s and 1980s. The total population rose from about 10 million at independence to 15 million by 1978.

6.63 is rounded off to 7M.
8.2m is rounded off to 8M.

Ghana population now round it off to 30M.
Kenya population now round it off to 50M.

Since she was pushing 30 her people DIDN'T object when she turned up with a Tzn from Mbeya, IIRC to marry. Speaking Kazibure type English he COULD ONLY explain he was a farmer and felt for her deeply in his roho. I noticed he COULD never join our discussions, the economy, politics be it local, ME or US despite graduating with a Bachelors from an EC school in the late 90s.
Neither COULD he contribute ideas to running the family biz of hotels and resorts, real estate and floriculture run by her 2 elder bros with the Dad in an executive pos.
He was ALWAYS and still is content with nice shoes and a full belly. Btw, he gets a pair of 800$ Fendis on sale on shopping trips to the Burj al Khalifa with the wife EVERY 3 mos along with clothes that would make Koffi Olomide and co screech in envy! That nigga has more shoes than Imelda Marcos!
Long story short he's now comfortable as a kept man! Women are women and I'll only say she's been "seeing" (cough!/cough!) someone else for at LEAST a year.

Why did we learn to round off numbers if you cannot apply it?

Google...

Rounding numbers makes them simpler and easier to use. Although they're slightly less accurate, their values are still relatively close to what they originally were. People round numbers in many different situations, including many real-world situations you'll find yourself in on a regular basis.

I prefer to round it off to nearest whole number.

And maths is pretty clear if you're from a Zoo

To round a number to the nearest whole number, you have to look at the first digit after the decimal point. If this digit is less than 5 (1, 2, 3, 4) we don't have to do anything, but if the digit is 5 or greater (5, 6, 7, 8, 9) we must round up.

Ghana still has a better economy than Kenya

Which are proven by the facts

A greater GDP per Capita, a better chance of getting employed in Ghana or abroad and the entrepreneur culture here is massive hence most Ghanaian youth prefer creating their own businesses even when employed...
