Quiting My Job To Join My Wife Abroad by Nobody: 6:34pm On Dec 20, 2021
I'm a federal civil servant, wife just got a job in the UK as a nurse. This has been our plan, although she initiated the idea which I supported especially bcuz of our kids. As the time is getting closer I'm developing some cold feet, but eventually I'm sure I will move. Don't really know if leaving my civil service job and farming business is a good idea, I don't really have an Abroad game plan yet.

Okay, bros.

I wish you and your family well.

May we not read about " a former Nigerian civil servant/farmer put on the street by his Nigerian nurse wife because he couldn't stop thinking about his civil service job and farm".

Work on your abroad game and follow through if you are convinced.

Sir, please don't leave without getting a good plan. I am presently in the UK and I am talking from experience.
Your wife can be there and you can visit anytime.

You can take leave and go to find a befitting job, if not stay till you get a befitting job.

UK has great opportunities and rewards hardworking people. Just link up with someone over there, so he can give you a first hand and honest gist of how things work there.

Since you and your wife are good with the idea of moving. Just move, have an open mind to have a new life experience. Don't get emotionally attached to your present job and your farm. Rather have a good investment here.
Move....

It's a good idea. It's progressive, better income and good for the kids.
I hope your wife is a good woman though cause it can leave you with regrets. Before you move, get a skill you can use to make some money there.

Is your madam comfortable being the bread winner As she will earn more than you due to her job, before you can catch up he go take time and upgrading of skills. Discuss all these o make dem no turn you to house boy or send you packing.

Thanks very much everyone. I'm still consulting with friends and family, someone suggested I take a study leave from my job instead of resigning outrightly. My wife is a good woman, otherwise I wouldn't entertain the idea at all.

If you don't go with them, are you convenient visiting them often? Besides, have you thought about the overall cost implication and the stress of she goes without you?

Abroad isn't as bad as they say it is although there are big changes you may have to make.

Do not resign until you are confident of securing a decent job or prospective career track.

Visit for like 1year to see how the tables fair when turned or be sure of a road map for yourself before taking the leap..

Many men have regretted this move without proper planning.

Pray well.
I think applying for leave of absence will be better, at least one year leave of absence will be approved for u.

When u get there and u feel live is good, u can send in ur resignation letter.

Don't leave Nigeria without having a better plan in UK, your wife already sought herself out, you can always go there to visit them, until you find something better doing over there, so that you won't use depression kill yourself just because your wife is earning more than you.....

The best is that with this your wife step, you have been able to fully secure the future of your wife and kid, so next is to think about your own future too..

Bro leave ego. If you know, believe and trust who you are married to, why the cold feet? Wifey can sustain the family until you find your feet.

Leave those that marry for beauty, or are blind to their partners ills, they will advice nonsense.

KNOW WHO YOU ARE MARRIED TO. E GET WHY.
1. DECISIONS ARE REACHED EASIER AND FASTER WITHOUT CONSIDERING ANY SABOTAGE FROM YOUR PARTNER, BUT SUPPORT.

Chai! While others regretted such decisions. I hope yours favour you. Go and give it a trial and your case may be different. Just be on the look and keep accessing the situations every now and then to be sure all is well with your decisions. Wish you all the very best bro!
