charlesemeka85:I'm not one of them,I've never been one of those who called for ejike to play 10 for us or even b our playmaker . From my comments u quoted ,u should b able to deduce what my stance r on that midfield role. But if it was Nwakali u were implying on, I assure u,when he eventually given the opportunity ,he will surely surprise u. We understand u have a soft spot for aribo, but he has been just average for us, He was actually d one been pretending in that position for us. Aribo cannot b trusted with that position ,or the role of play making for us,when a better option appears,he will simply make way n relinquish that no. 10 shirt for us. 3 Likes |

charlesemeka85: You are right. Only Iwobi and Aribo can play No.. 10 for Eagles at the moment, but problem I have with both is; they are limited with pass range. None of them can play long pass decisively. Austin Eguavoen seems understand the Naijaway of Football. Also seems he mastered very well Westerhof's tactics and style of play. We need a Coach who's gonna play Naijaway not forcing foreign style (philosophy) on us. It's saddening Eagles Matches are getting so bored to watch these days. 1994 to 2000, one thing is certain, we would outplay our Opponents with entertaining football. Nowadays, we are even getting outplayed on our home soil by small Teams. If Eguavoen does well at AFCON, he should be allowed to lead us to Qatar 2022. I am tired of foreign Coaches, cos last time we had good foreign Coach was when Jo succeeded Westerhof. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Napoleon55:aribo isn't a pretender he his actually fit for the job and him and iwobi owns that position and nwakali will still be regarded as a 3rd choice when he makes it into the national team Squad which his performance will let us know if he will contend for the 10 shirt and all thanks to rorh for limiting aribo's forward play to make you think he can't be trusted go and watch him against Brazil and Ukraine then you will see rorh was actually the cause for him not looking like the aribo of rangers |

Mujtahida: Ejuke even gonna laughs at idea of playing him in No. 10. He's a good Dribbler, but poor in decision making. I don't know if Nwakali still has it in his Sleeves, cos I'll rather playing him in the hole than Ejuke. 4 Likes |

Oasis001:it is not about foreign or local but getting a competent coach. Since 2000 we’ve only made 2 Afcon finals 1 foreign 1 local, failed to qualify for 2 Afcon courtesy of local coaches, failed to qualify for 1 World Cup courtesy of a local coach. We need a competent coach, we don’t need to be shouting local every time. it’s not like they’ve been spectacular for us 1 Like |

Ejuke vs Iwobi vs Aribo for 10, under Eguavoen? Ejuke can then be a sub if that's how he wants but as others have opined, decision making. He can just zap out and go solo when teammates are expecting a pass in key positions. I hope its a secondary decision. Its Iwobi's and that's how it should be. I miss Etebo. Reliable. Hope we have just that next year? |

elyte89:what do you mean by grade A? Should we just be hiring tactically inept local coaches just because we want to? In as much as we want to criticize Rohr he showed he’s at least better than Siasia and Oliseh. We can get a very decent foreign coach abeg, he doesn’t have to be at Pep level to achieve the minimum. Maybe because I’ve seen enough local coaches sha, from Onigbinde to Chukwu to Austin to Keshi to Amodu bar keshi the football was always dull, drab with average or ok results |

It seems a lot of you are CAUGHT UP in a nostalgic era of entertainment football. Where dribbling, showboating without commensurate end product was the order of the day. Sorry to inform you that FOOTBALL HAS MOVED ON, that kind of football is pleasing to the eyes but will not win you tournaments. It's now about cohesion, work rate and END PRODUCT, I really do hope that my friend Eguavon is not sentimental and emotive about a bygone era that no longer exists. It's the same mentality that makes you assess players based on youth football exploits of donkey years ago. Dribbling showboating without end product is essentially rubbish in today's highly tactical and disciplined strategic planned football environment. I remember when Mahrez, Raheem, etc did all that dribbling and showboating, they don't do that anymore , it's all about END PRODUCT. There is such emotive bias among many here some are blinded by sentiment based preference not HERE and NOW performance. In this regard KC is off the boil , essentially out of his 5 seasons at Leicester in the EPL he has had only one very good season the rest 3 and a half have been abysmal. He should be dropped until he finds form for now. The HERE and NOW forward players are Awoniyi and Dennis they are doing better than Victor O. as it stands currently. Many will not like that . I really believe after suffering a serious fracture to the face including eye socket he should not be going to the AFCON. He should be allowed to recover properly and get match fit. Nwakali is a non starter , has DONE NOTHING WHATSOEVER to deserve a call up to the SE, he is not even outstanding in the lower quality Segunda Division. The hypocrisy and bigoted double standard we show here is mind boggling. When I would mention Nigerian origin players in the Championship, many here will be screaming bias and prejudice. That the Championship is a poor level for the SE. Not too long ago our arguably best Midfielder Etebo, after a very good World cup went to Stoke in the Championship. I actually expected him to be the next Ngole Kante, but it didn't happen, he was ok but not outstanding in the league. That accolade of outstanding went to Olise, Eze, Ovie, etc Luckily Etebo is in the EPL playing for Watford currently not too much to report he is injured and will be out for month's. The Championship is a league where young players leave and go straight to the top leagues and clubs more than any other second tier league in Europe. Omar Richard left Reading straight to Bayern Munich another example. We have centred on a very few number of players and ignored the rest, players who are not necessarily making waves. We still talk about Sadiq from the Segunda Division on a very regular basis. Some even compare him to Adebayo giving him all kinds of accolades . He has scored 8 goals in the Segunda Divisions. Elijah who plays for Luton is not in the mix although he has scored 10 in the Championship. Personally I really don't rate both of them as SE quality. Some have decided to practice quasi tribalism with Nigeria origin players in Europe Vs Nigerian players from Nigeria. Not sure why ❓are some more Nigerian than others. Showing prejudice and open discrimination. Terms are used like " he is one of our own" etc it's just petty small minded ignorance and narrow mindedness. We even decide who we think is more patriotic in the Nigerian context. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Napoleon55: You cannot be an anonymous mouse in low level football for the past 5 year's and all of a sudden become a TIGER in the SE. You are blinded to irrationality with your emotive preferences. When he went Arsenal Saka, Folarin, Smith-Row, Okonkwo, etc were 12/13 years old or thereabouts and they have left him far behind. 6 Likes 1 Share |
