One of the greatest accusations that most non-Igbo political watchers on Nairaland has accused Igbos of is the fact that they claim we denigrate politicians from other regions and shield ours from being so treated no matter how rotten he is.

So, my intention by this post is to clear this erroneous assumption and bring these people’s consciousness to what they already know.

If there are two Igbo politicians that Nigerians would possibly vote for comfortably, it would be Orji Uzor Kalu and Rochas Okorocha.

There reason? They are detribalized. So to them or to most of these people, being detribalized comes before capacity and antecedents.

But these two politicians find there greatest opposition at home, yes, Igbos don’t like them. And it is not because they are fraternizing with non-Igbos, far from it; if not we would have hated Ogbonnaya Onu too. Our hatred for these two politicians is purely informed by their record of stewardship whilst they served Abia and Imo states respectively.

8 years of OUK’s governance in Abia was a waste. Aba was left to stink to high heavens. No record of road construction or any legacy project that Abia people will remember OUK for.

Same story with Rochas. Rochas spent 8 years building statues, illegally acquiring people’s lands and building substandard projects in Imo. Almost all the roads constructed by Rochas are now impassable. The buildings he built have all had their roofs pulled out by the wind. Nobody remembers Rochas for anything good in Imo.

But those are the two politicians out of Igboland that appeal to Nigerians. And the reason is because “they are detribalized”.

To these people Peter Obi, with his impeccable record in Anambra must go to bow at Sokoto stool of Caliphate to prove himself.

Umahi with his giant strides in Ebonyi is a baby politician.

Ogbonnaya Onu with his record of integrity despite long record of public service and having been a friend of non-Igbos for so long, doesn’t cut it.

It is the thieves and buffoons from Igboland that appeals to them to suggest as president.

So, I’m writing this to warn the rest of Nigerians that we do not shield dirty politicians no matter where they come from. That Orji Uzor Kalu and Rochas Okorocha are not part of our choices as president in 2023, should the presidency be finally conceded to the southeast.

If you guys go ahead to choose either of these two fools because they “detribalized” like we know you would do, when they start to loot, display ineptitude and lack of competence, their action should never be used to judge Ndigbo because we are already telling the world we do not want them.

God bless the Federal of Nigeria!

Who doesn't know that Atiku is your choice? You actually think anybody is deceived by the Uzor Kalu noise? Own your Atiku with your chest and stop disguising.

My choice is that presidency should rotate to the southeast in 2023, for equity, justice and fairness.

But if a certain greedy man with a certain big eye with a certain inordinate ambition, thinks that Igbos do not deserve what is due to them, then let the north continue.

And if Atiku causes you and paymaster so much pain then I would gladly help him do more of that.

At least that refutes your claim of us playing ethnic politics and we don’t just support any idiot because he’s Igbo unlike you people that would support a mad man so long as he’s Omoluabi.

We differentiate these things and assign everyone there role.

Ojukwu led us through the war; we thanked him and held him in high esteem but that does not mean we will suspend reason whenever Ojukwu is involved.

You would think we are supporting Nnamdi Kanu but let him overstep his bound and you see the cult follower ship he’s enjoy vanish with the speed of light.

We don’t support nonsense just because he’s Igbo.

If anything, Atiku is better than OUK and Okorocha.

Is Atiku also better than Obi? Abi Obi has been ordained to only vye for the VP position?

Why are you people not promoting someone from your region the way SW and North are promoting theirs?

Your problem is not even candidate. It’s who is going to vote the candidate? Is it the north you babe cursed and abused, that you have called every derogatory names even the ones that are not in the dictionary? Or the Ijaws you insult everyday? Is it the Yoruba that you have turned to your number one enemy for no just reason?
You don’t have the number on your own and you have refused to build alliance.
That’s how much damages your ego has done and still doing to you. You need to change your approach. I know someone is still going to attack me then later ask for my vote.
Everybody will just sit at home if both party zone their ticket to East.

If we have not been promoting Obi, the why are you guys so fixated with destroying his integrity?

And besides, in the game of power play, strategies are deployed.

So what’s your business if we find the vp position more strategic for now?

Your sit at home won’t still stop an Igbo man presiding over your affairs after the elections are over.

Great!

Since you know that two can play the game, stop asking us to change our tactics.

Focus on the tactics of your divide and let’s meet at the field.

Stop destroying the reputation of Igbos because you want to package your Obi, Obi is in no where better than OUK/Rochas. This nonsense has to stop. If Obi wants to contest let him join the contest instead of destroying other igbos that may have interest

Thank you for this write-up, but Nigeria are simple not ready for a good governance. How can average Nigeria that knows condition of Nigeria today are thinking of OUK, Rochas, Tinubu, Osinbajo and Atiku to be the next president of Nigeria? Obi and Umahi you mentioned are tested and trusted politician with good record in governance but Nigeria put tribalism ahead of their own life so I wouldn't be supprise we have any of those incompetence as next president.

As much as I agree that none of those politicians you mentioned should be next president, as sad as it is they are the ones making efforts and positioning themselves to succeed PMB. We yearn for Peter Obi but what efforts is he making towards becoming president? Has he begun consultations? I ask because I haven’t seen any sign of him wanting to contest. At least, Anyim is making little efforts. What is Peter Obi waiting for?
