lexy2014: Refining is continuous. Done for hours everyday. Imagine the volume involved. Destruction of the equipment is done once and for all. In fact, the equipment is metal and the temperature of the fire can't melt it. So what normally burns is the crude that is in equipment and the metal is deformed. |

mfm04622: What goes into the process of refinishing? What is the end product? What does the process of refining entail? Is it that is destroyed by soldiers when destroying illegal refineries? |

Even Wike is suffering the same thing in his house and office. I wonder why he lets the illegal refineries continue operation. They are killing people little by little. |

lexy2014: Crude oil goes into the refining process Diesel is the end product of the illegal refining. Everything apart from the diesel is thrown into the environment to further polute the environment. Crude oil refining is mainly done by heating the crude and distilling products off at specific temperature. The illegal refineries do not have equipment to separate different products. What they are after is the Diesel component which they sell to those who use diesel generators and vehicles. The soldiers set all what they use on fire. It readily burns because it has been contaminated over time by different petroleum products. So that is what is burned. You can't compare the damage one single event ( burning of drums and other things they use) with what goes on everyday. Also, it is not everyday they discover illegal refinery and burn it. Let's say they burn 5 per month. Those people work everyday as long as they can. |

mfm04622: How does distillation now cause black soot? Is it only equipment and drums that soldiers burn? What exactly is the "Everything apart from the diesel that is thrown into the environment to further polute the environment"? |

lexy2014: Me I don tire ooo. I think you need a picture of how the crude refining is done! Maybe because of the use of the word "equipment". https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/gallery/2013/jan/17/illegal-oil-refining-nigeria-in-pictures. Go to this and see how illegal refining is being done. All those things you see being used to illegally refine crude are those things that are burnt by Soldiers. See how they refine the crude. If you see the pictures, you will agree they cause the soot! |

mfm04622: The questions I asked are very simple and I don't need to see the pictures. Since u have seen the pictures and u made the claims u made, then answering my questions shouldn't be a challenge for u: How does distillation now cause black soot? Is it only equipment and drums that soldiers burn? What exactly is the "Everything apart from the diesel is thrown into the environment to further polute the environment"? |

Re: Black Soot: The water I Used In Cleaning My House This Morning In Port Harcourt by mfm04622: 3:31pm On Dec 25, 2021 |
lexy2014: Go and do your research! I am not being paid to teach you! Questions you need to ask. 1) the crude is refined by heat, how do illegal refineries get their heat? 2) What do they do with by products when they have gotten the diesel they want? If you can answer those 2 questions, you will know by yourself who is destroying the environment in South South. |

mfm04622: Since u have done your research, I don't understand why u are struggling to answer the questions: How does distillation now cause black soot? Is it only equipment and drums that soldiers burn? What exactly is the "Everything apart from the diesel is thrown into the environment to further polute the environment"? Cant u defend the claims u made? |
